The bird had been flittering overhead a little while now, and Mawey'Eveng found himself staring. His belly was rumbling, and he hated to remember how horrible he was at this hunting thing. He wasn't sure why he was so terrible, momma had tried her best to teach him. He supposed it was because he had other missions in life besides hunting. Though he was hungry now, and he wasn't willing to ask his momma to do his hunting for him. On hindsight though, he figured he probably should stop trying to hunt birds. It was obvious they were faster than he was.
The bird sung its song, and he heard more birds return the same call. He watched it, curiously, tthough he had other intentions. He wanted to eat the bird, but he couldn't help but find himself curious as to it's song. It was so pretty, it's pink and red feathers contrasting against the very green leaves. He watched as it took flight, and then landed on a stone, a few feet away. A smile spread over his features, as he lowered his chest to the earth, and began slowly creeping forward, praying that he managed to actually catch his dinner tonight.

Hwena'menari was hanging out quietly from a smaller branch, high up in the massive trees they all called home. The sun was still out, and she was feeling sleepy and languid as a result. She was draped elegantly lengthwise, her face pointing out away from the trunk and downwards. Her eyes were half closed in relaxation, near the edge of sleep. She much preferred the nighttime hours, which would soon be drawing nigh.
In fact, the evening birdsong was disturbing her almost-nap. She pinned her ears at the featherhead closest to her and showed a bit of her teeth. The little thing wisely chose to flit to the next tree over, thereby avoiding the animosity that in truth, Hwena wasn't energetic enough to follow-through on. But the bird didn't know that, and at least things would be a little quieter closest to her perch.
Movement below caught her eye, though, and she leaned over to look, letting her tail dangle the other direction as a ballast. Hmm, it seemed to be one of the nearly-grown males. Her eyes came a little more open, but narrowed as she assessed his activity. It seemed he was hunting. Or... trying to. She shook her head, but did not form any sort of opinion on his chances of success. That would hardly have been fair. She didn't know him, after all, other than recognizing him as one of the many People.
