Let's get back to basics, welcome to the Atra Pestis, name meaning is 'Black Plague'. The pride is a secluded group of animals that have taken a forest and cave setting as their home. The hierarchy works as a King's Court would.
The characters in the ranks section should show this in a more descriptive manner. So think of this that way. The lions, primarily, here are an aggressive breed, always eager to please their Royalty in any way shape or form and for any costs. Though the throne has only recently been taken it is to be assumed that Crue and Sabia have been accepted, whether out of fear or not, as the King and Queen.
Currently the pride is simply settling back into place, Crue has taken on his Advisor, a rather twisted creature himself and the Heir to their throne has been announced as their son Crowley. Sabia has decided on her lady in waiting, Noira and the pride seems on a slow and steady track to good fortune.
[With the coming of the literal end of the month we will be making plans and more for the first Dread Night and Bloodening! It should be a thrilling run through of how the festivities will unfold. -- Hopefully by then we will have some entertainers and hunters. It will be exciting to hear of the first predictions from the Kings Advisor!]

[Once upon a time...]
There was once a big pride, a busy pride that bustled with life. Life in this pride was dark, and most were a very dark, yet ignorant.
.However, they made the mistake of trusting the newcomer Crue. He would paruse the borders, learn the layout of the land, and within days he was confident enough to know, that he had what it took.
Sabia had bore him many cubs, and the litter were in danger out in the wild. Mainly due to the many enemies that Crue himself had brought on. But refusing to accept that his cubs were in danger, Crue decided to take the pride by force.
The pride never had to defend themselves from such persistent assailants. Once Crue and Sabia put their minds to something, it can easily become terrifying how focused and aggressive they can become. Through this aggression they used the prides unfortunate ignorance against them and struck a final blow in the cave dwelling of the royals themselves. Upon doing so they captured the to be Heir, keeping her alive only long enough to bring their eldest son, Crowley to pride as the new Heir.
Due to the sudden throw in power many things happened. Majority of the pride abandoned any idea of pursuing freedom from the new leaders. Being they were nearly cut off from the outer world some stayed out of fear of what else could be out there. Life was bound to be better, away from the paws of the cruel Crue. However, many didn't care to test the theory, and stayed out of fear.
Crue and Sabia run with a laid back paw, assuming they don't want something from anyone. They will fight to get what they want, but there is always corruption in the courts.

[Religion and the Gods]
Crue, well he laughs in the face of religion. If there was any before the two hijacked the pride, there would not continue to be. Not any open prayer etc. Sure there are Priestesses and an Advisor, whom are able to use their God-given gifts to aid the pride, but when it comes down to it Religion is basically a personal matter. -- This goes for paying tribute to any Gods, on occasion a Gods name may be brought up, but they would not on a regular basis seek a God out to have as a patron.
[Mating and Birth]
Both are considered normal, the only ones that would truly be recognized would be that of a King choosing his Queen OR a royal litter. Besides this, the mates and Mother and Fathers would celebrate on their own time. Royalty can perhaps be requested to visit, or if Sabia takes to a Mother near birth she may make an appearance. She sympathizes with these individuals as she was alone during the nearly life ending experience. ANY single Mothers will be taken under her wing and given special attention and care. This also comes with the unfortunate side of sympathy. Single Mothers can choose to seek her out.
[Species]
All species are welcomed and seen as equal. There is no discrimnation, excluding familiars. Familiars have been banned from all except royalty. King, Queen, and heirs may, if they choose, have familiars at their sides. Most of which will be gifts. Other familiars seen will be killed on sight.
[The Pelt Color]
Though species are seen as equal, colors are extremely important and valuable. Darker pelts are seen as more valuable, powerful and are all around more noticed. Though this may be the case lighter/white pelts are only restricted from higher ranks. In most cases that only means Royalty (this excludes being born into Royalty).
[Pridal Location]
The pride is hidden among large trees and against a large wall of rock. The rock contains many of the prides dens and places for feasting while the outside acts as a barrier from the rest of the world. The atmosphere can be considered humid and rather sticky for many lions taste, but is certainly habitable.

[Coronation] - Involved: Whole Pride, Primarily: King, Queen and the Heir
Due to the 'theme' of hierarchy here, the idea of a Coronation seemed fitting. Upon a certain age of childhood, between cub and juve, an heir is announced. When the Heir is announced, a token, in some cases, can be passed onto them. But besides the title they may have nothing to show. -- At this time, the cub will obviously not take on the rank of King, but will begin the process of learning. -- During the Coronation itself there will be feasts and entertainment in his name for the whole pride to enjoy. The Heir is usually chosen by the King himself, the Queen may make a suggestion, but in no way has the right, unless the King is killed in battle, to choose for him. After all it is his legacy.
This is the night before the Bloodening. This night celebrates the celebration, it holds no sacrifice and has no other purpose other than to eat what you can, drink what you can and enjoy the conversations. It's easily one of the busiest and most enjoyed nights of the month. For this night there is no fears, no nothing, though the anticipation of the next day may get to some. The visions, are hopefully good, but with good comes bad and with a family like current King and Queen, bad is sure to follow. -- Ofcourse this will include entertainment and more.
A gathering of the whole pride where a sacrifice is made to the Advisor. The Advisor is rested upon a stage, among him is the King, Queen and Lady in Waiting. At this point the heirs may make an appearance. Any news can be stated from the royalty, but is not necessary. During the beginning of the meal a small animal, or a few, will be sacrificed. The sacrifice will be drained of its life source and then the Advisor will begin the predictions. The predictions will always start with what happened that month and end with what happens the next month. The meal will continue with any other chatter and nothing unusual.

[King x1] - Filled - The King is a partnered ruler with his Queen. With this in mind he makes most of the decisions. Including whom will take the throne. -- All decision making processes regarding the pride etc, MUST be brought before him, or him and his Advisor.
[Queen x1] - Filled - The Queen is a partnered ruler with her King. Though he makes most of the outward decisions she has a heavy say in the direction of where things go. -- Decisions can be brought up to her and she will speak with the King directly on any issues she feels for most. Together they will make a decision.
[Heirs x1] - Currently Crowley - This is the sole heir to the throne. He/She will be responsible as the pride leader come the right day and time of their lives. As they grow they will slowly be trained differently then their siblings, taught differently and hopefully become an exceptional leader.
[Prince xUnlimited] - Currently Three These are the male offspring of the King and Queen, the royal cubs.
[Princess xUnlimited] - Currently Four These are the male offspring of the King and Queen, the royal cubs.
[Advisor x1] - Open (Seer and Male Only) - The Advisor has been spawned due to a mistrust of the Priest/esses class. He is the right hand man to the King, only answers direct orders from the King.
Expectations: Be forewarned, IF you take on this role. he plays a large part in the Bloodening, which means he will have to be active during atleast those. Besides that, much like any role.
[Lady in Waiting x1] - Open - Since the King has one, the female has one, a right hand woman in fact. Someone for the Queen to have a personal relationship and a deep friendship. The Lady in Waiting ought to be prepared for anything.
[Priest/esses xUnlimited] - Open (Seer Only) - The Priests and Priestesses of the pride handle the healing and gathering of healing herbs. Being Seers they can make short predictions about ones life, something like fortune telling. One usually seeks a Seer in hopes to hear about long lost relatives and if they will come back, or even as silly as who will they love! -- But the Primary function is medicine. Keeping the pride healthy.
[Harlequinn x1] - Open (Female Only) - This lone female must be rough and tough in the Entertainment world. She is leader of the entertainers and must be able to handle a rowdy crowd. -- On the side she must have had a reason for getting head of entertaining instead of Knight or Gatherer, she must have star quality.
[Entertainer xUnlimited] - Open (Female Only) - The entertainment of the pride! Primarily present during meals and more for dances etc. These gems of the pride were bred to preform. The entertainment can range from anything, I use dancing as an example.
[Knight x3] - Open - The knight! No shining armor, but defensive nonetheless. S/he will be heading the Guards on any of their outings and advises them of the King or Queens word on a matter.
[Guards xUnlimited] - Open - The guards are more than scouts, nearly an army, but they do the jobs of a scout. The guards are expected to be involved with any fighting, defending, and scouting required.
[Gatherer x1] - Open - The gatherer is the head of the hunters, s/he will lead most hunts and aid in bringing home the kill. They will further delegate what happens with some of the goods etc. Perhaps a key role in the Bloodening, that will be the hunter/esses busiest time of year, gathering a great meal, and sacrifices.
[Hunter/ess xUnlimited] - Open - All prides need to eat, all prides need the hunters, politics can't run on good looks and ladies afterall! -- The hunters will go out in hunting parties, not lead by anyone in particular and range from one to three in a group. Depending on the prey being downed ofcourse.
[Nanny x3] - Open - Three, you say that seems odd? Well only a few cubs would actually be left with Nanny's. These are the backup support to those caring for a family. If a hunter/guard etc has a family then cubs may be brought to a Nanny to be watched. The pride still expects the parents to care for them more often than not.
[Youth xUnlimited] - Default for Cub to Adolescent - Any and all cubs born/brought into the pride will automatically be given this rank.

[Old Blood] - These characters would be very much aware of what went on, how the current King and Queen came to be and may PM me if they would like to know a little secret!
[New Blood] - These characters may be unaware, or have heard rumors upon entering the pride. Their thoughts and more is up to their own discretion. Assuming they are joining as New Blood they will probably be fine with the King and Queen.

She is large for a leopard, it is rumored that there may have been mixed lion blood in her background, but those are just rumors, which she despises. Her teeth and claws are fierce and she does not hesitate to use them, should a creature behaving in a manner she detests, regardless of species, and she can be cold and calculating. Fedha does what she does to get herself what she wants. Stubborn as a mule, yet graceful and elegant, she uses her feminine wiles to coerce males (or females, should they find her attractive) into doing what she wants, just as she learned from her mother when she was but a cub. Fedha isn't the sort to grow attachments to others, instead using them like pawns to further herself in life. This works well for her, as she does not like to form bonds with those she pleases or entertains. She was relatively new to the pride, joining shortly after it was taken over, and harbors no ill will to the new king and queen. If anything, she admires the pair for how they handled the situation and for the power they give off. They are strong, strong enough to dethrone a royal family, and thus are worthy of her adoration and skills. Fedha is loyal to the strong and scorns the weak. She is prone to having wild mood swings, so she may be smiling and happy one moment, and a raging mess the next. She doesn't care about others or what they think of her for the most part, but she absolutely loves power over others and takes a special delight from making them suffer. And if she can't have the power for herself, she will try to share in someone else's by being wiggling her way into their lives. Though she isn't the sharpest leopard at times, Petrar is stubborn and doesn't ever give up once she has an idea in her head. Old Blood/New Member: New Member Other/Extra: Petrar was treated very badly by her father just because she happened to be female, so she has a particular dislike for the male types. xD She also has been lingering by the pride for some time, so she knows the history behind the takeover for the most part. Which is why she wanted to join in the first place.
[Customs!] - Woah! O: - PLEASE, if you do not have the funds available to you for a custom but have a wonderful and creative idea, let me know as soon as possible (Green Ever After). I have access to funds and am more than willing to help you out if and when you win your custom concept! -- RULE FOR THIS, your custom cannot leave the pride. (Unless ofcourse there is a real good reason. PM the mule under these circumstances and Buffy and I will mull over the request.)
