The trip back to the school grounds, the real school grounds. was a bleak one. As far as the hound could see, the school seemed to have lost its vibrant feel. the howling of the wind and the dark overcast was met with the stark, mostly empty grounds. bits of papers the lay scattered in the autumn breeze that swirled in circular patterns, the dance of a deserted area. barely anyone was out, the mists that ebbed in random spots that seemed to suck everyone in.
This was home, his new home. and it was being taken apart, bit by bit. everyone who made it a loving place was lost in the other world, in their substitute home, a pale replacement of where they really belonged.
A curse on all those newly infected. why did it have to be this way, he had no clue. Despite all the wandering he tried to find survivors, or at the very least, the meek that refused to leave the safety of whatever area they barred themselves in. The search was coming up as empty as the hall way he was walking in, save for the three others he returned with.
"from a festival to this, who would have guessed it?" the pup mused aloud into the hall, the loud echos already bouncing back to him in the small space. People that still need saving, those that needed protecting but here he was, walking in a lonesome place.
Which one really was the school shrouded in fog now he wondered.
the problem with loud musings was the chance to drift, and suddenly become unaware of what was happing around you. All it took was his boot kicking a pebble for the house to snap out of his self afflicted trance. looking around to the dense fog and the copy school that stood in front with its looming presence.
This false home. he hated it with a passion, a passion that burned more than the pale blue lights hidden deep in the white shadows of the swirling unknown around him.
he was already back into the fray of the battle for home. But this time, the sickening feeling of being alone came with it. "Hello? is anyone there?" damien called meekly, searching for help in the mists, he didnt want to risk another death again. With his luck, it would be mei back again to settle the draw.

Damien saw it coming, the lunge from the backwards looking ghoul. that was when his eyes widened as it punctured through his chest with a thunk. "A.... amrita?" he asked, mouth agape. One of the ghouls that he shared classes with once in a while. he was so blind, who else could it have been, as his personalities buzzed in turmoil at the sudden revelation.
The arm was jerked out of his chest with reckless abandon as the boil sunk to his knees, then to the floor. there was no pain this time as his physical form slinked away. The fog was a merciless being, pitting him against those he knew. above all as he closed his eyes, he pitied them for striking down potential loved ones, friends, allies, heroes, their own kind.
They searched for home, but Demi wondered if it will come at too high a cost. The musings of the voices in his head fell into silence as the last part of him drifted back into the fog.
