The Siblings Information Your aunt and your mother, as well as your father all reside in the pride with you. Your father being the god of patience and your mother being a priestess from a mountain pride though she and her sister do not speak too openly about the inner-workings of their old pride. With your father being a god, you are automatically a seer so there is no reason to roll for that.
Parents: Airion x Naanda; colored by Meepfur Sibling(s): Uru, Saf's Prompts
#1
Whether or not this ICly happened is up to you. Your lion could never receive a vision for all I care.
You're a seer and you just received your first vision! As far you know, no one in the pride is a seer so no one can really help you except maybe some of the aqualytes that tended to the last waterspeaker. How was it triggered? How do you react to this? What do you see?
#2
You and your littermates were born from an agreement between the Airion, god of patience and Naanda, a traveling lioness from a mysterious mountain pride, to give the pride the seer they so desperately needed to lead them. You have four other siblings and out of the five of you, only one can be picked.
You sister has been elected to become the next waterspeaker leaving you and your siblings to pick between hunting for the pride or tending to the garden and grove in which she resides. How do you feel about the pride's decision to pick her over you? Do you support your sister? Are you jealous? How do you feel about your existence being one of agreement rather than true love? The "Aunt" Information You were a dear friend to the last Waterspeaker and well-loved by your pride brothers and sisters. It came as a surprise that you were not picked to become the next Waterspeaker, but then again you never showed signs of being a seer or maybe it was because you are an older lioness and the pride needed younger blood. Perhaps it is because they thought you would help the new Waterspeaker settle in better. Who really knows why you were no chosen. Now you are an aged lioness but you are just a little after your prime. You may have had no children throughout your life but you are not that old yet! There's still a chance to find a nice man and start a family.

Uru, the new Waterspeaker, has come for you seeking advice on interpreting her latest vision. This is the first time she has met you one on one at a personal level since becoming the pride's Waterspeaker. How do you react to her approaching you? How do you treat her in general? (Keep in mind while bitchiness is fine, outright hatred is not in this prompt.) Do you take her under your wing and become a sort of "aunt" to her despite no blood relation? Tell us!
The vision is of a young male lion, presumably a rogue who is wandering the crater in it. Whether this is of the past, present or future though is unknown at the time.

I'm new here...
Name: Mgeni Name Meaning: Newcomer Rank: Hunter
History: Before coming here with the new waterspeaker Uru, he thought he was the loneliest lion in the world, or his world. he never spoke to anybody, the way they looked at him, it seemed so violent, like everyone hated him. Even if some really wanted to get to know him, maybe even had a bitof a crush on this male, he didnt care, he was scared of everybody, thinking that the rouge lands was a dangerous place, that really just shouldnt be wandered in, and he hated it there, until he found The Mvauiko pride, he finally found where he belonged. He vows to himself he will do his best to keep himself in the pride. Personality: energetic and a bit shy with the felines or dogs he meets, but when you get to know him, he is a charming young male with manners and a bit of arrogance, he can be stubborn at times, and has a trickster side to himas well.
Plot Ideas: Might make him start out being very lonel then develop a crush on someone, but then get over it at some point? ( really bad a plot ideas, it just popped into my head =] )
Hey look, I'm a blank slate!
Name: Kidunia Name Meaning: earthly Rank: Aqualyte
History: She was out hunting in the rouge lands one day, when something attacked her, and she totally blacked out, but couldnt quite remember something before that, and how this happened. She wandered for a long time, trying to remember what happened to her, how she got this way. she one day regained some memory, in a dream, yet it was all still so unclear. he then set out, wanting to forget about all that had happened in the past and never tell anyone about what had really happened, as she still had pretty bad emotional scars about the attack. she then finds the outlines of a pride, The Mvauiko. She doesnt know it yet, but it will very wel be the perfect place for her to stay. Personality: She has a very blank mind, and can be a bit crazy at times, but she is friendly and smart, strong willed and determined to be the best Aqualyte the pride has seen.
Prompt: Why did you join the pride? What motivation was there? Prompt response: She was looking for somewhere to get rid of her awful past, and she just wanted to get out of the rouge lands. Too many awful things had happened, but it was all mostly still very fuzzy in her wandering mind. when she finally heard of a pride, she was so excited, she practically bounded off to see if it was real, as she had been looking for her 'calling' and was sure this was to be it.

It should have been me.
Name: Shwari Maji - goes by Wari Name Meaning: calm water Rank: Aqualyte
Personality: Calm, cool, and collected, it takes quite a bit to disturb Wari. She is serene and patient with cubs and adults alike, finding beauty in everyone she meets. She is always grateful to help others and is incredibly humble, despite her rather affluent friends. Despite her mellow exterior, she has an eye for rambunctious and wild males. If she were to settle down, it would probably be with one such male. She is very open minded and accepts all animals as equals, from the most powerful lion to the meekest meerkat.
She does not hold any grudge towards the new Waterspeaker and, despite the surprise of not being chosen, is rather thankful that she wasn't selected. She's not one to be the center of attention and becomes incredibly shy when all eyes are on her. To get her best advice and insight, it's best to approach her alone or around those she is most comfortable.
Prompt Response: 1: Ah, it was just like her old friend coming to see her. Wari greeted Uru with a smile and a little bob of her head, indicating respect. She was much older than this lioness, but age had nothing to do with how much one should respect another. The bob of her head was a common greeting for Wari and she used it on all creatures, from the Waterspeaker to the cubs she passed by. Life and water and all things good resided in every living creature, after all. That alone was deserving of respect.
She sat to listen to the young lioness speak, her vision a simple but complex one. Together they dissected Uru's vision, inspecting the elements that made it. What did the background look like? Was the lion young? Old? How about the weather? Were there any other lions? Animals? It took about a half hour to walk through the vision and any minor details, but at the end of their little session, Wari was satisfied that Uru had answered all her questions.
The older lioness watched the younger go with a smile. She was glad that her services were still being used by the new Waterspeaker. Even though Uru wasn't her old friend, she still felt a sort of kinship to her. Perhaps it was with the roll of Waterspeaker rather than the lion herself, but it brought her incredible satisfaction to help Uru. As with any other creature, she showed respect and kindness without being overly obnoxious. There was such a thing as killing with kindness. Rather than just telling her what her visions might mean, she helped her through them to figure out the answers to her questions on her own. She wouldn't be around forever, after all. Catch a zebra for a lion, his hunger is stated for a day. Teach him how to hunt, and he'll never go hungry.
A little butterfly floated in front of Wari's gaze, and it broke her from her little trance. She stood and continued on her way to the water, in need of a drink and some time to reflect on her own thoughts. Not visions, of course, but it was always enjoyable to ponder over things in silence.

Blood is thicker.
Name: ADISA’UZOMA Name Meaning: One who is clear, Good way Rank: Hunter
Personality: Adisa refers to his age as but a number. In both mind and body, he is as young as they come. A playful old male, Adisa enjoys telling tales of his adventures across the crater; not always the sort a parent wants their children to know about, but tales nonetheless. He even dares to share stories of more farfetched and outlandish ordeals--less likely to be true, but equally as charming.
Having had no children of his own, and having seen so much during his lifetime, Adisa tends to put his experiences on to others. This is a sign of care and concern, but is not always wanted. Adisa is often wounded/offended by those who do not seem interested or those who openly pronounce their disdain for his fatherly advice.
Outwardly, he speaks fondly of death. Particularly Adisa enjoys telling the tale of his deceased loved ones, always with a bit of exaggeration to enhance the experience. He portrays a lion that is carefree and docile on his worse days, playful and active on his best—but he is not, and has never been okay with losing his family. This tale, although enjoyed, almost always uncovers the pain that which he tries to hide.
A tiny bit of him believes that someday he will be reunited with them. A slightly larger part of him can’t wait for that day to come.
Although great with the cubs, Adisa is an asset to the pride’s hunting party and does not often choose to stay behind. Strong for his age, he is typically the one who helps drop the prey rather than chase it around the savannah.
Prompt Response:
“Long gone!” Adisa spoke with a strange air of enthusiasm in those few words. Where despair should have been, jubilation reigned. The soft colored countenance was taught in a warm, yet eager smile.
“The drought not only covered our lands in the starved corpses of our fathers, our mothers, our siblings and uncles…but brought with it a sickness that could not be cured; would not be cured. Not by anyone with half a brain and the desire to stay alive. It was a tough era for our pride, a time when turmoil caused a rift in our society.”
It was as if Adisa had never mourned or grieved for his lost family. He strangely seemed at ease, even excited, to be telling the same story for the hundredth time. And for those who sat around and listened, the feeling seemed mutual.
“I was a much younger lion then. My father died when I was an infant, and my mother had grown weary…no, wait, she had become very ill the months after my birth. I didn’t understand everything, and no one seemed willing to explain it to the sick mother's boy, but all it would take was time. When the herds started to thin out across our crater home, we began to starve. It was a hard sight for a young cub to see, and worse still to feel, and I hope that none of you will ever bear witness to the same. But it was only when the pride began to thin just as the herds had, members of my own family vanishing or found dead in the empty gullies of our former ponds, well…it was then that I knew something was horribly wrong. My mother, bless her soul, tried her best to raise me on her own. Most of the time I was trying to care for her. The waterspeaker at the time, my great grandmother, did her very best to bring up the moral of her people while watching carefully over her great-grandchild…but the title had haphazardly fallen onto her just months before the major drought. She was beloved by many as an aqualyte, but discredited by all when put to lead. Her visions were botched by age and underuse. Her heart was always in the right place, but her ability to maintain order under such strenuous circumstances considered less than admirable. My mother and I favored her over all others, mostly because she was immediate family. But also because she was good to us.”
Adisa paused, watching as heads jerked in a collective gasp. Toothily, he continued.
“She did her best up until that final day, when the struggles of the pride became too much for her to handle. My mother, who also did her best to hold on, went down the river of paradise only a short time after. It left Adisa’Uzoma alone. I had the pride, those who were strong and able and survived by will and stubbornness; but my blood was gone.”
“Many wondered why I had never showed symptoms like my mother. Over time they came to accept that I was, by some miracle, immune to the plague that had taken so many. I lived with everyone, and I lived for everyone after that. Our pride is made up of good people, this I learned early on, and that should never change. It started with my family, their deaths and departures, and it does not end with yours.” Adisa rose from his seat and stepped around the small crowd that had gathered. Frowns outweighed smiles, despite his efforts to be cheerful. “None of that, none of that. Look at your Adisa, huh? He is happy! Our prayers were heard by Nyesha, the great rain Goddess. She has heard our lost families’ plea. Our pride is saved, many thanks to Uru as well. Do not be sad for my family or for those we have lost along the way. They are all in the clouds now. They shower us with their love and protection!”
Those that had gathered in sorrow began cheering Nyesha’s name. Heads were thrown back toward the sky, cooled by the constant drizzle. Adisa watched as the youth paraded about, his tale a distant memory now in their Aeon’s wake.
But within him there was a secret as concrete as stone. A sadness he learned to hide and would never reveal. A hope that someday, the pain of loss would end. He would watch over the pride as best he could until he could no longer and then he would go. He would be with his mother and father down the river of paradise.
((TOOK SOME LIBERTIES HERE WITH THE STORY! If any of it doesn't fit with the Pride, I can fix thiiings if I happen to be chosen. <3))

I have a question heart (so I hope it's okay to quote you lol) How recent were the fires in the land? Like... way back when and none of the current members were present... recent and a lot of them were present... or like... some of the adult members remember being cubs during them?

Lethrossen I have a question heart (so I hope it's okay to quote you lol) How recent were the fires in the land? Like... way back when and none of the current members were present... recent and a lot of them were present... or like... some of the adult members remember being cubs during them? Not a problem! Since the history is still a sort of work in progress, I don't want to get too definitive at this point, but this is what I generally have.
The fires were during the last king and queen's reign with their only son becoming the first Waterspeaker. Uru is the third and current Waterspeaker, with the one in the "the aunt"'s history being the second. If the lion was a cub when the prince changed the ranks, then it is possible for them to still be around; they'd just be pretty old considering he died as a middle aged lion (keep in mind that he was already a young adult when he changed everything). Then the second Waterspeaker shows up and stick around for a little while, a few years maybe before dying in her sleep due to an illness she fought for months. A few years gap and then Naanda and Airion show up to solve their Waterspeaker-less problem. With Uru only being a young adult at this point the oldest members of the pride could theoretically have been around during the fires. Most, if not all would know the stories though.
I hope that answers your question~ :> Things can change a bit though, so if you want to respond to a prompt as if they were in the fire go for it!

We're here too! Which sibling are you trying for? Blue Girl Name: Huyana Name Meaning: Native American Miwok name meaning falling rain Rank: Huntress
Personality: Huyana is a bit whimsical and maybe even an air head. She is prone to drift off into day dreams if not given a specific task and though she enjoys spending time with others, she seems to prefer her solitude at times. Whenever the rain comes though, she becomes a carefree youth and loves to just go out and run in the race, dancing, laughing jumping and singing praises to Airion, her father and any other god or Goddess that watches over the pride and protects them. Plot Ideas: Perhaps have her spend time with Uru and have Uru attempt to convince her to become an Aqualyte. (Huyana will think she is too spacey and silly to take on such a serious role. thinkign her siblings are much better suited to it.) It would also be fun if she could be someone who helps give tattoo's to members as they come of age, icly at least.
Prompt Response:
Rain drops, the way they fall quietly and the feeling of the small drops wetting her fur in patches always seemed to do it. A soft vision, almost as if seen through water, whimsical and illusive, would come to her. The first one had been so confusing... She had gone out to dance in the rain and then when a droplet his her in the forehead her eyes glazed over and she felt lost and dazed.
It had been like looking up at someone from beneath the water. The sounds were muffled and the image shifted and swirled just like water. The feeling of being under water had been too much to bare the first time, she thought she had fallen into a pond on accident and was drowning. She fought, swam and tried to hold her breath. But after a moment she gasped out and inhaled. Air. It had been air. She wasn't really in the water. But just before she could understand this was something different, something unique, the vision faded and she stood soaking in the open, staring up as the sky poured rain down onto her. The vision was gone too soon. That image she would never get back, the word, garbled through a veil of water lost.
Without any time wasted she turned and ran to the Garden where her sister resided. They were the children of a god and a priestess, surely Uru, the Waterspeaker, and her sister, would know what to do. That had to have been a vision, it just seemed to have come in an odd form, Huyana only hoped her sister could explain it to her. She was so much better at all of this than Huyana was...

We're here too! Which sibling are you trying for? male Name: Kokoto Name Meaning: pebble - Swahili Rank: Aqualyte
Personality: Kokoto is understanding and tries to become as much friends with others as possible. He carries his father's title of being the God of Patience, for he is usually found aiding the elders and youth by telling them the latest news and would always be willing to give them his share of the meal. He would never want to see anyone in the pride to go hungry, but is highly against those who are bonded with familiars for he views that action as claiming the creature as property. Plot Ideas: I would like for him to start off as a rather impatient son, later having a serious discussion with his father about the essence of patience, especially since this is a tough time for them. In the future, I could see Kokoto venturing around the border and come across a creature who is injured, and bring them to the water speaker to be healed. Kokoto would see having a mate as something for the far future, maybe even the last one to be a parent of the rest of his littermates. ovo
Prompt Response:
His soft eyes fell upon the leaves of the herbs around in the verge of the garden. Everywhere was wet and his whiskers felt the heavy weight on the water that was placed onto them. Drooping his neck to be closer to the mud underneath his paws, he smiled. There were some new flower that were about to bloom from the last moon. Giving a quick smile, the lion trudged on, blessed to be in the position that he was in.
Knowing the boom of his littermates, he was elated that it was not him who was chosen to become the pride's waterspeaker, though he was fully aware of what a high status it would have given him. He himself, was never well at using his seer powers, and to make it worse, he did not know what his power even was! On the way, he tried to find his power, but did not. All he did find was... more mud. Kokoto shook his head and then looked up to find the den of his sister. Uru.
He felt the longing to just barge into the den and try to play with her, but something just pulled him away. Maybe it was because she was always busy since she was an important figure in the pride. Everything that she did was vital and he hoped that she could be able to help him find his own power, or perhaps, tell him that he does not have one at all. This whole bond between the five siblings.. to him, felt close yet far away.
