Lemons in Winter
Leopard Name: Nishati [knee-SHAW-tee]

Celebration you most look forward to rping her during, and why: Flower Festival.

Nisha would be completely in her element and at her happiest when new life is springing up all around her, and she would no longer be forced into depressing thoughts every waking moment. The winter would be far enough behind her for her to have recuperated from it's torment. Nisha is a very active and joyous spirit; her favorite game is the relay race, and she participates every year. Also, Nisha has reached the point where she would like to take on a mate and bring new life into the world herself, and nervously looks forward to being courted as so many often are at this time.
Why is she so sour during the Snow Games?: Nisha was the only cub born to her Demani Clan mother, and was raised as a Demani herself. She has always relished the bustle of life, and especially loves the rains that comes with spring. Although the winter means the slumber of the life forces she so adores, this isn't the cause for her hatred of the season; her father is - indirectly.

Her father was a member of the Mrao Clan, which may make her parents seem an odd couple. They were happy, however, and so was Nisha. But, when she was still a cub, she lost her father to an avalanche that came roaring down one of the mountains the pride makes their home near. Nisha was so young, she can hardly remember her father - and yet, every winter, she is forced to reminisce. He enjoyed the snow so much, and celebrated it's arrival every year, and yet the snow showed itself to be more than just physically frigid. The return of the snows herald the return of nightmares for Nisha, and so she is bitter and unable to take part in the games and enjoyment.

(I'm assuming she doesn't have any IC parents.)

Why is she so sour during the Snow Games?: Kestrel was born and grew up in a warm climate. She enjoys the sunshine, having the perfect color pelt for the sun. The only thing she'll admit the warmer climates have that bug her is mud, which cakes onto her fur and makes her look a rightful mess. So she is often found taking baths or sitting by the water so all she needs to do is jump in it if she gets dirty. Just as, likewise, all the winter has going for it is the abundance of clean snow all over the place. But that is also the problem. And the problem outweighs the blessing. All the cold, cold snow everywhere.

When she was still a Juv, she was moved from her family home to a few relatives by her mother. Her mother had business elsewhere to attend to and wanted her daughter to remain safe. The relatives were near the future territory of the Sikukuu. When the pride went up, her relatives left, fearing a loud neighbor in the future and wanting to cut off the connection now instead of later. Kestrel was left behind, whether on purpose or by accident she doesn't care. The relatives she knew nothing about had never been very accepting of her, so she figures it was on purpose. With nowhere to go and not wanting to be alone, she joined the closest pride there was. She was far from her sunny home and didn't wish to make the trip with strangers.

Something else she dislikes about the snow is how well she blends into it. If she falls asleep somewhere and gets buried in snow, she's near invisible and often gets stepped on by mistake. There is the slight fear of being left behind if she allows the snow to cover her, but she won't tell anyone that.

Lastly, the snow bogs her down. Kestrel dislikes anything that provides an obstacle for her when trying to go somewhere.

Celebration you most look forward to rping her during, and why: Carnival of Luck

Dagnija absolutely loves fortune-telling. She really does believe in good and bad fortune and that your chances are always up in the air. It's a great opportunity for her to get a good luck charm. The greatest thing is that it is held during her favorite time of year when the ice melts away to reveal new life.
Why is she so sour during the Snow Games?:
Dagnija used to thoroughly enjoy the Snow Games. That was before her heart was broken and she was betrayed. The leopard of her dreams, her future mate, a part of the Mrao, cheated on her with a wandering rogue that passed through. It wouldn't have been so bad if he had just told her that he didn't love her the way she did him. He could have at least left her before rolling around in the snow with some gorgeous leopard that had curves in all the right places whereas Dagnija was mostly muscle.

That wasn't even the worst part about it. If she had caught them by herself, it would have been less humiliating. Nearly the whole of Sikukuu had stumbled upon them with her. She had never been so embarrassed in her life. The only saving grace was that the conniving rogue managed to convince him to leave Sikukuu. At least she never had to see them happy together.

Now, during the Snow Games, all she thinks about is her humiliation and broken heart. It makes it near impossible for her to enjoy it at all.

Since he has a history of being born in the pride, could it just be a back-dated RP of her as a cub, on the day she lost her father? Whomever Tal chooses to do the JRP could be there when Nisha sees her father die, and comfort her?

I think we could do that. I could use my Vuli queen for that, or my Mrao hippie hyena. Whichever suits you.
