Firekin - The Accidental Captain

A soldier through and through, Roho is respectful of her superiors and those she deems have been gifted with exceptional skills. Hearing that Chaka is the only Battlemaster in the pride, she may seek him out initially to duel with him for practise as she has not had much luck with her last three duels and is trying to figure out what she is doing wrong. Roho is a perfectionist and does get frustrated at herself for losing, however, she keeps this all hidden beneath a stoic mask. Only a select few lions have ever seen her showing any real emotion and generally it has happened by accident on her part. She is incredibly loyal and shows a particularly strong allegiance to Nawvlee.

I know her cert says 'Guard' but since the war, Safi has been acting as a Soldier and will soon be applying for a rank change. Her mother, a dedicated soldier, has been training her but Safi worries about her mother too much to actually train properly with the, now becoming frail, female.

I imagine she would have sought him out as practice. She has never been a fighter, but she has a very strong sense of protection for her family and wants to be ready to fight for her pride if something happens, so she is desperately trying to learn. She's not fantastic at the moment, but she will improve in time.

I imagine that seeking him out to train might be the last push she needs to change rank permanently to soldier.

Kero is determined to do better. She has no fancies about being the best... joining a pride with such militant tendencies means she is never likely to measure up to those born and raised here. However, she knows she can always do better than she currently is. She trains hard, and denies herself more relaxation than a quiet walk apart from everyone. She has hardened her emotions into a flintiness that goes deep, shunning the softer, gentler emotions in favor of those that make her strong and cold. She isn't cruel, nor is she difficult to get along with. She obeys orders to the max of her ability, never questioning the wisdom or knowledge of those leading her. Being always open for more training, Kero has presented herself punctually for self improvement.

Yayuka is not exactly stellar as far as performance goes, but he can pull his weight. Sort of. Mostly. He's missing an ear and has a really scarred up paw from the Nergui ambush a while ago, so at least he can look sort of like a battle hardened veteran, or something. Not an ambitious sort, but wants to work hard and improve and all that! he has a girlfriend to impress now, too. So. that's one thing. He also perhaps dreams of superheroes and secretly wants to be one.

Really short blurp: she's angry and somewhat emotionally hurt by what her pride did to her. She joined the firekin looking for a place to call family where she can learn to defend herself against those who would use her. Akane is very much driven to learn to fight well.

Ruber has had a bad couple of duels impress upon him that he is not, as he had previously thought, "all that" and that there are several lions who are, quite simply, better than he is. Losing is a new and unwelcome experience for him, and he would much prefer that it never happen again. Thus he is seeking out Chaka, the Battlemaster, in order to learn more about combat.

He really, really hates being humiliated, but even though he hates losing, he'd never act out under most circumstances. Just...go and brood by himself.

She's a cub, but Mate'moto has the spirit of the most battle-ragged warrior! At least, that's what she thinks. Once she's a juvie she'd love to tag along and at least watch and learn if not participate in the training as she aspires to be a battlemaster herself some day. Here's her personality blurb from my journal.

Mat is a very leap before you look kind of girl. She's always getting into little fights and causing a ruckus with her siblings. She's loud, not afraid to state her mind, and very competitive. She wants to be the best at everything, even if she's actually horrible at it. Mat is headstrong and lets her emotions rule her actions rather than thinking everything through rationally. If something confuses her, she'd rather try to eat it than learn about it. As she grows she'll learn that there are better ways to handle certain situations than fighting, but she's much better with actions than words. As long as whoever she is with is patient with her, she can work things out verbally rather than physically.
