Bori had found himself some shade and was stretched out comfortably there, enjoying some quiet. So far his day had not been very busy but that was probably the worst kind of day, when there was nothing to keep you moving, it was easy to just lay around. He had no scheduled performance today and he hadn't heard if any of the others had something planned.. but you never knew. His mind certainly didn't stop just because he was half-asleep. As he dozed, numerous half-formed ideas ran through his mind- few of them even made sense, but dreams did that sometimes.
His sleepy mumbling to himself made even less sense, of course. "Can't you fix that? I need- I need the rocks to work together-"

Mio was maneuvering around the West's main gathering area, looking for the most popular performer in the area. It was hard to forget his face, his style, and his overall willingness to help. Zahi was feeling a little forgotten lately, and was not taking retirement well. She hoped to plead for a good performance from Bori tonight, something to perk up her mate. Their grandcubs were no longer cubs, and though there was still much for them to learn, they didn't want to play with their grandparents much anymore.
"Gao?" she asked as she looked around. Someone had pointed her in a direction he may be, but as she approached, she heard his voice. But. Was someone with him? She peeked around as she walked closer, but she didn't see anyone.
She realized that maybe he was so asleep he was talking to himself. She smiled, thinking that it was rather cute, if a little cubbish. "Fixing is your job, Gao," she replied quietly.

Bori seemed oblivious to Mio's approach, though her voice made his eyes blink open. He didn't look at her and scrunched up his nose, seeming confused by the source of the voice as he slowly processed what she said.
"But the vulture said- he would--"
Wait, what? He blinked again, now starting to look actually awake. Why was he talking? There was nobody here. But then who was talking to him? Finally, he looked over and saw Mio standing there. He was on his feet in in one startled motion.
"My Lady!" he stammered, "I'm sorry, I must have fallen asleep."

She laughed, though it was more on how he had woken up so quickly more than anything. She had to take a moment to recompose herself before she could talk to him, and she felt a little horrible about it.
"Sorry, sorry. Its alright, I know you haven't been very busy lately. I think everyone worries that we overworked you with our demands, and have been trying to give you a bit of a break."
She paused, curious.
"You have been resting, right? No one's hiding your amazing performances from us, have they?"

For a moment, he looked distant as he tried to remember what exactly had been going on in his dream that he had been talking about- but it was leaving him quickly. He could barely even remember what he's just been saying before the Lady had woken him up. Fortunately, he could listen and wonder at the same time. He put his full attention back on Mio when answering, though.
"No, it's been a very quiet lately," he said with a smile, flattered she seemed so interested in keeping up with his performances, "I have some new ideas I've been working on, though."

"Quiet is good," she said as a reply, nodding to him. She hoped that he wouldn't mind her request. She was no longer the Lady of the West, though she knew that it was hard for many members to say no to her. She used to be the Lady, and habit was hard to break. But she knew that having a good heart and caring for everyone in the house meant that a lot of the members were willing to help if she only just asked.
"Would you be able to come by and do a little performance for the Lord and I? I fear...he needs a little cheering up. He's been too idle lately, and its been affecting him." Thankfully his temper was, for the most part, gone, but it was not good to be so bored like Zahi was nowadays.

"No complaints here," he agreed brightly. Bori was happy to stay busy but it was nice to have a break every once in a while. His work during each busy and slow times could be very different, it was a good way to keep things interesting for his audience.
"Oh?" he said, looking surprised that she asked for a performance for her and the Lord. An idle Lord was no good, Bori couldn't decide if being retired helped or hurt in this situation. It definitely meant he could use a distraction, and that was what Bori was for.
"I'd be delighted!" he exclaimed, "I know just the thing!"

Mio sighed happily. "Oh, thank you. I'm excited to see what this performance will be. You must tell me if you need anything that might help. I'm sure the artisans could whip something up together quickly. If you'd like more audience members, I can invite the rest of the family." Mio had...quite the litter of children, and only two of them had left the West.
"Being popular must be a twist, hm?" she added with a chuckle.

His mind began to race as he went through what the very best act would be for the nobles. The size of the audience, available actors who knew what was going on, props, time of day.. it all could make a big difference in deciding the most appropriate show and style.
"I'll handle the preparations," he said after a thoughtful pause, nodding, "You may decide the audience, Lady, but when you are ready you will find me by the water hole."
Yes, he had a plan and now he was eager to move.

"Perfect!" she said with a purr. "I will be sure to make your audience spectacular, to match your performance." She nodded when he said where to meet him. Hmm, this will be exciting.
"I will see you later, then. Thank you." And with that, she sauntered off to find her brood of children, as well as a very grumpy retired Lord. This was going to be an interesting evening, and the retired Lady was very excited for it!
