The wind that blew eache grain of sand throughout the golden dunes, she watched as she could see a bit off the waves of heat from the sun, and it felt rather nice. Yawning as her eyes were half shut, she wanted a bit of sleep since her so-called siblings were driving her to insanity. Having to talk all night and rush all morning to go off to their mentors....she felt like she was going to have her life ended early. Closing her eyes shut as she held her head high, her breathing was light as she was finally drifting off until they opened again. It was too late to sleep because she was already awake.

Maipe was bored. A boring day was a bad day, the absolute kind worst she could comprehend at her age, considering the concept of hunger and thirst was foreign to her. Copious amounts of food and water were provided by the adults and then some. Her uncle would sneak her a snack behind her mother's back if she whined enough. No sooner would she finish that than she'd scamper off to her grandfather and guilt him for more. Today, she couldn't find either of them.
With nothing to eat and nothing to do, she wandered aimlessly until she happened across a lounging adolescent. Maipe wasn't sure what she planned to do yet, but she started by calling from a distance, "Hey!"

A voice, a single voice, that was calling out a greeting gave a sheer ring to her ears as she flicked them around, wanting to find the sound. She suddenly saw a blur of what looked like a cub and she walked a little forward and stopped, seeing it show it was a real cub. Walking to the cub, it took some time but she drew closer and closer, each step on the hot sun warming until she was only inches away from the cub and smiled. "Greetings, young one, what brings you to this spot?" She asked and she laid down and looked at the cub, curious of why it has chosen to come to where she has brought herself to.

Young one? Maipe drew her nose back and gave the older female a well-practiced version of the stink eye. "I have a name," she said, though she failed to provide it. In a pride like this, the residents tended to know one another -- and there were only so many monikers, what with the restrictions. This one was probably Shula. You couldn't turn around without bumping into a Shula.
Maipe decided to tell the truth: "I'm looking for food. You got any?"

So the little child is hungry, eh? Well, she didn't have food, but at least she could give out company. "I don't have food with me at the moment, but if you need something else, you can ask me." She said softly and smiled as she looked at the cub and smiled, but wondered of the cub either had no meal or is trying to sneak off with more from another. If it was trying to take something, then it would not sit well with her at all and she would not be pleased with it, so she had to do something to figure out more about this cub.

The disappointment on the cub's face was immediate and easily detected. Looking at her now, Maipe realized she wasn't fully grown either. They probably didn't let her hunt yet. Or do much of anything, and so she wondered -- "What else could I ask?" Without waiting for a reply, her rump hit the ground and her tail curled around her right side. "I could sure use some sand," she drawled sarcastically. "You have any of that?"
