User ImageWhile it was true Muhali was not particularly worried over the Fortune Teller's vision about the muses, she still felt like it was better to be safe then sorry. As such, she really wanted to check out the borders of the pride and go take a good look at the outsider group that had been reported for hanging around the pridal borders. Unfortunately... the fact she'd taken on a mortal guise meant the she couldn't go around breaking pridal rules nilly-willy is she meant to keep up her disguise and the charade. One would figure that it shouldn't have really been important for her to maintain the disguise; surely it didn't really matter?

Alas, it actually did matter to Muhali.

She hadn't felt this much at peace with herself in a long, long while, and she would rather, if at all possible, remain within the lands, and live away peacefully here, among the mortals she'd come to love. It was for this exact reason that she figured she should go actually ask for permission to go check out the trope of strangers at the border. Given how peculiarly overprotective the gypsy king seemed to be of his people though, the goddess figured she'd have to resort to some real convincing to get him to let her go alone.

"Shandor?" she peeked her head around the dens, looking here and there, deep down wishing she could actually stretch her wings and just look for him from the sky, "Can I have a word?" she paused, pondered, and then with a roll of her eyes and a smile, she turned around and decided to pad in the direction the two new strangers' den was; chances were she'd find the gypsy king nearby, both for the view (she half expected the large new male to smack some sense in him soon if he kept up) as much as in order to keep an actual eye on them, "Hey, Shandor? A word?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Sadly, the goddess' assumption was quite right. While he could lay claim to no fat bellies around his pride, Shandor was known as a bit of a tail-chaser. He often admired the lioness' around the pride, offering them a passing complement or a bold, playful gesture but nothing came of it. By then, most females would take the complement, roll their eyes, and go along their way. Many began to wonder if he was even interested in starting a family. The queen's line had many generations already, and even the new queen, the eldest daughter to the lioness he had started his rule with, had her own litter. He hadn't sired a single cub. It was concerning but some found comfort in it. Perhaps his gestures were more out of jest than actual interest? It was hard to say. He was well-named, for he was a riddle in behavior and speech.

The lion was lounging within eyeshot of the newcomers. Myuto's large form was laying out on the sands with his wounded shoulder turned to the sun, freshly treated with some herbs nearby. The little lioness was doing something in his mane, but from this distance it was hard to say just what.

She was pretty. Small, spirited, but terribly pretty. The gypsy king leaned his chin against the back of his paw as he watched her. Perhaps he'd play with his mane... a new braid or some kind of trinket-

He turned as he was beckoned, an unphased look in his eye. "Aww, someone's jealous."

User ImageA small, amused snort escaped Muhali's maw as she padded right up to the gypsy king and flopped herself on the ground beside his frame, taking a moment to put her chin on his broad back to peer down at the newcomers below them, "What on earth is she doing to his mane, pray te-" she paused, and squinted, one of her paws lifting to place itself on the king's back as she tried to peer over him, like a curious kitten, "Oh my, is that a bow?" another pause, "A pink bow? How in the gods' name did she get her paw on a-" she shook her head then, using the one paw to swipe at the air, as if physically shoving away the thought, "No, nevermind, that's not why I came here, focus," her head turned, though give her odd position, she had to tilt it back in order to look at him, giving her an upside down vision of Shandor, "I've been thinking," she waited for the taunt that was sure to come, and then continued, non-pulsed, "Someone should take a good look at the peeps over at the border and asses just how much of a threat they are."

She let that bit sink in, rolled around a bit, taking her weight and frame away from his and finally looking up at him right side up, "And I figured that while it's true your patrons are great fighters, they're as tense as springs, don't tell me they're not, shh nope," she raised a finger, expecting protests, "Being tense is all good and swell, but it ain't gonna cut it for sneaking around and taking a good peek at them, aye? I kind of wanted to go. I'm lil, and not easily spotted," she paused and offered him a grin, "Also muuuuch stronger than I look, if push comes to shove! Mind if I go?"

The only thing missing was the 'pretty please'.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Shandor didn't seem to mind at all that a lioness was leaning against him so casually. They were gypsies. Personal space and boundaries weren't exactly enforced most of the time. At least not for him. If it had been a male, they might have been given a firm paw and a few unkind words but a lady could do as she wanted. He took it as something of a complement.

The lion gave the lioness a slanted look after she suggested that she had been thinking. The expected retort didn't even have to be said. She had braced herself for it and his eyes said it all.

Her request, however, brought a scowl. "Yeah. You're a mummer." He pointed out. "Your job it to be flashy and noticed. If you've forgotten, you're one of the two -lead- mummers. That makes you especially noticeable." He smirked and leaned over to n** at one of her ears. "Extremely... noticeable. You can keep me company. I'll have a thief go, it is their job to keep their heads down and their eyes sharp."

User Image"But I think I should go," she lifted her gaze up to him again, accompanied by a small tilt of her head and what could only be described as a good impression of puppy dog eyes, pleading with him. She really wanted to play by his rules, but he was making it so hard! She could sneak around if she wanted to! In fact, her illusions and powers allowed her to sneak around far better than any thief this pride could ever hope to breed. She almost allowed herself to pout at the thought before her ears perked suddenly, "Oh! Oh!" she stood up, full of energy (which seemed to be almost endless for some reason; the small female was always doing something!), "Got an idea!" she sunk her head into his mane, took a bit of it into her maw and then gave it a small tug, " How 'bout I show you? You can leave the newcomes for a while. Bet'cha Flower Lord's keeping an eye on them. I'll show you; I'll beat you at your own game, and then, if I beat you, I can go, deal?"

She'd thankfully let go of his mane as she spoke, but after talking, she lifted a paw, almost as if expecting him to shake it, or touch it or something to seal the deal. Muhali was counting on the fact Shandor seemed to like games, and a challenge was something he seemed to like to rise to; specially if he thought he could win it, and... well, given the fact he didn't really know what she was, it was pretty obvious he thought he could win a sneaking around and fighting game in the jungle, "If you beat me, I'll do as you say; never bring it up again and I'll also keep you company while you bore yourself to death watching the new gal, 'kay?"

Sitting down, the goddess pointed a paw at the jungle to the side, the trees and vines just a few meters away, "A hide and seek game, and a bit of a pounce. If you're sure I'm such a bad lil thing at sneaking around, it'll only be fun for you, right?" as if to make a point, she stood, and as she stood... all the trinkets she wore jingled around, making her grin at him, "Please?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."There's a problem with that statement." Shandor pointed out. "The second and third words, actually. You think? If you think that, then no you don't. We don't know what those strangers are, who they are, or what they want. Certainly, if they think they can lure a goddess into my pride to curse us again they're clearly not stable."

And then she was in his mane. The male chuckled and let her have her fine. Why not? He wasn't exactly opposed to a pretty lady having fun with his mane. If he had just a little less of an ego, he might have even purred. However, part of the fun of this little game was to fake disinterest in the situation.

"Hide and seek? Tag? A game?" He stood himself up as she raised her paw, a strange gesture to be certain, but one that opened up an invitation. "How about-", he pressed his paw against hers and brought the other out to catch her back. It was a strange, awkward gesture but somehow Shandor held the female back on one paw while he leaned over, posing as a pair of dancers might.

"How about I see just how good you are on your feet?"

(( And now this is canon. ))

"Hey! I can think just fi-" to say Muhali was caught off guard when Shandor decided to grab her fore paws and stand on his hing legs awkwardly... was an understatement. She was so caught off guard, in fact, that her wings spread out, and even though they remain invisible, they supported most of her weight, making the stance seem almost effortless on her part. After the surprise wore off, she offered the gypsy king a Cheshire grin, "Oh, no, sweetie. I'm afraid you're gonna need a little bit more than that to outdo me, I can do just fine on my feet. Mummer, remember? Kinda all about grace and fluidity," she pressed forward, pressing her nose very briefly against his before she flapped her wings, which despite remaining hidden, allowed her to jump back away from him which more more grace than a mortal could have managed.

She landed almost soundlessly on all four, offering him yet another grin (this one on the rather cheeky side of things, to be honest) and then motioned towards the forest, issuing a silent challenge with her gaze. Then, she turned around and ran towards the cover of the trees, hoping he'd pick up on said challenge and follow her.

As soon as she was sure the trees concealed her, her wings flapped again, lifting her gracefully off the floor and into a branch of a tree, "Catch me if you can!!" she called out to him, "Or I'll catch you! Winner takes it all!" she jumped from branch to branch with ease, though that could have easily been explained away by the fact she almost seemed to look like a leopon. Once Muhali felt she'd found a good spot, she used her power to conceal herself, making herself as invisible as her wings, she couldn't quite mask her scent, entirely but her power over illusions was enough that she could confuse the gypsy king.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. He fell forward as his weight now had nothing to prop against. How it happened, he couldn't even begin to guess. He felt like the world spun on its head and left him standing there. No one could pull away like that- it was like...something pushed her. Either she was an amazing dancer, one that the likes of the pride had never seen, or he'd missed something.

... it had to be the former. He never missed anything.

He rolled his eyes and shifted his shoulders to pop some tension out of them. "Fine fine. I thought we would play like adults here but if you insist on a romp through the woods, I suppose I could indulge you. But I'll have to warn you- nothing gets past me."

And then he promptly ate his words. The lioness bounded into the woods and with ease and a spit in the eye of gravity and physics, she was gone into the canopy. It took a good degree of will power not to gawk with his mouth open. Internally, he was screaming in confusion.

Unwilling to be out-done, he dashed into the trees after her. "Come on now, really? This is how we settle things?"

User ImageHer eyes narrowed as she crouched down on her spot, her claws coming out to dig into the bark of the branch; in and out as she waited, coiled like a spring, her shoulder moving, tail twitching, even if it remain invisible and completely out of sight. In a way... it was like playing dirty with him, but she figured this would be a good way to drive the point home; she was more than capable of taking care of herself, and truly, she figured she was the most appropriate lioness to handle this mission.

Muhali waited until Shandor was situated somewhere below her and then promptly launched herself from her hiding spot, dissolving all the illusions that concealed her save that around her wings. Her arms spread, maw open into a silent, deadly snarl as she lowered upon him, forcing both of them into a ball of limbs, mane, fur and tails. For a moment, to a bystander, it might've even looked like the lioness meant the Gypsy king harm, but said keen observer might've also noticed the fact her claws remain sheathed and her tail wrapped around him, acting as a bit of a cushion where his head might have hit hard against the ground. Shandor might have also noticed something odd about the lioness; she was much stronger than she looked. In fact, it almost seemed like she was putting a great deal of effort into holding back.

Rolling through the foliage they went, until the came to a stop. With Muhali lay sprawled quite proudly and rather effortlessly on top of him, "I think I win," she said before bumping her nose against his and then slipping off of him so she could arrange her hair, trinkets and all after the tumble, "Bet'cha didn't even hear or see me. And I can also take you in a fight, wanna try?" her organizing entirely forgotten, she lowered the upper part of her body to the ground, her long tail arched in the air, though... she was quite certain she'd made her point. By now, she was just teasing him a little; after all, he did so much teasing, and barely anyone seemed to want to tease him back.

Such a shame. As far as Muhali was concerned, she figured it was about time someone gave him a bit of his own medicine and left him wondering what on earth had just happened.

((OOC: There was a small bit of godmodding down in the post xD but given that it was pre-arranged/decided on between Thal and I, then yeah... I wanted to clear up this isn't how I normally fight, in case someone's reading this))

User ImageThe world was already spinning when it happened. But when something flashed, something large flew at him, and he saw his own feet going skyward- the poor Gypsy king briefly believed that he'd just lost his mind. Again. Over and over he watched green, blue, skyfeet, then green, blue, and skyfeet again. He barely registered the ground under him as he took his turn rolling against the ground. Time seemed to slow, little details sharpened, and all the while his mind was reeling.

What's happening? I'm dead. No. I can feel things still. Death is likely more dignified. And sensible. And a little less painful. Oh right- he was on his back now.

Shandor laid there, flat, against the ground with his eyes staring up at the canopy of the seaside trees- sadly far from an impressive 'forest'. There were no words. Like before, he didn't need to say a thing. His dark eyes said it all-

What the actual f- just happened.

User ImageSpeechless, now wasn't he? Well then, Muhali thought, my point has been made, mission accomplished, "As speechless as I've obviously left you, Shandor, I'd really appreciate the actually 'go ahead' from you now, so I can go on my way and... leave you back to your shameless flirting and spying on that poor lioness," given that he was just still gaping at her, Muhali arched a sassy brow at him, "Sweetie, a simple 'okay' will do. All you have to say, is 'okay'. Hopefully I didn't break that lovely brain of yours and it's still all in working order, at least enough for you to say that one, simple word."

Oh, but this was fun. Muhali couldn't actually remember the last time she'd had some actual, nice, innocent (or not so innocent) fun with someone. It'd been a while, really, specially due to the fact that before her true awakening, she'd been too far gone to appreciate fun or really have it, in the true sense of the word.

User ImageThere were two things he wanted to know. One was how she did that. The second was how he could learn to do that. Given the grin on her maw and the wall against inquiry in her eyes, he knew well enough than to ask her for either. Women. He would never understand them. Their minds were like steel traps filled with angry badgers at times. Perhaps that's why he'd not yet settled on who to fatten up with his offspring.

The male's eyes narrowed and a stubborn pride settled into his gaze. "Fine. But don't go blaming me if something goes wrong."

He rolled himself up to his belly and shook his mane out. "Off with you."

User ImageThe small female grinned once more, uttering a small, pleased little purr before she looked up at the Gypsy king, "Oh, don't you worry that pretty lil head o' yours. I'll be just fine," and that said, she stood on all four, and passed her whole frame under his chin, dragging her tail across his throat as a parting gesture of sorts, "Tell you all about it soon! You can count on me! Watch!" and that said, she jumped through some foliage and was pretty much gone.

The only sign that she was still in the general vicinity was a rather merry little tune, that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere, all at once as Muhali hummed.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 01, 2013 11:45 am

User ImageThat was cruel. Tease him like that then leave him all alone with no clever come-backs, no witty one-liners, no affectionate gestures of his own. There laid the gypsy king on his back, having been given the slip for once in his life. Stunned to silence, taken off-guard, and now left without having thrown so much as a bad pun out.

...thank the gods no one else had seen that.
