So you may be wondering, what's going on here? Christmas in July is a charity event funded and run entirely by me, The Captain Britain. This a contest for custom concepts. The prize? Pure gold towards your concept. That's right. If you win, I will help you pay for the concept. The amount will vary depending how you place.
First Place Your custom concept will be paid for in full. Minimum of 1 winner
Second Place Half of your custom concept will be funded. Minimum of 2 winners
Third Place Roughly one fourth of your custom concept will be funded. Minimum of 3 winners
I may take on more winners if I am able.
The concepts will be judged on a point system. Points will be awarded for things like originality/creativity, time spent questing for funds, future plans for the concept, newbie status, etc.
If you win, you have two options. You can choose to take the gold up front, and it will be sent to your account. OR You can choose to have me hold onto the gold onto your concept is chosen, in which case I'll transfer it to a spare account to make sure I don't spend it.

1. You may enter more than one concept, but you can only win funding for one. 2. If you are entering multiple concepts, please put them in separate posts. 3. You may edit your post up until closing time, but please state what changes were made and when somewhere in the post. 4. Concepts at any stage (cub, adult, familiars) may be entered. 5. Concepts for litter custom-ins are not allowed. 6. God concepts can only be entered if you have received shop approval and you are a SoA God newbie. 7. Cosplay concepts are allowed. 8. Please do not enter concepts that you have already been trying for in customs, as that tells me you already have the funding. 9. Funding received should be used towards the concept chosen, not another one that you have or for a concept in another shop. I don't have any way of enforcing this. Or even that the gold will be used for a concept at all. I'm trusting the winners to do the right thing. If this all goes well, I plan on trying to make this an annual thing. So please play nice to allow others the opportunity to win in the future by following the rules.
Q: So I can only win funding for one concept. If I enter multiple concepts and win, do I get to choose which one receives funding? A: No. The contest judges the concepts themselves, not people who enter. If you are set on winning funding for a specific concept, then only enter that one.
Q: I want to enter a cosplay, but I'm worried I'll lose originality points! A: Don't worry! Cosplays will be judged on creativity instead of originality points. This means you'll be judged on how well you adapt the cosplay to SoA.

All I Want For Christmas...
Username: -_Wish of Tevarae_- Concept Name: Cer'eza Concept Species: Lioness Concept Stage: Adult Concept Gender: Female Description: Appearance: Pelt: Pitch black, with starry spots all over her, and tiger-stripes in a deep red trailing from a butterfly mark, done in tribal, that would be on her chest (have fun with it.) Eyes: Sky blue Mane/Tail: A deep purple, that is bordering on black. Face markings: something kind of lace-like that makes a mask around her eyes, in gold.
Personality: Cer'eza is a very calm, level-headed female, with a tendency towards distance. She spends a lot of her time training, and guiding her Pride as best she can, reminding the young ones of the pains of the past. Her entire life has been devoted to the study of the ways of Umbra, and protecting the stone her mother passed down to her.
History: The several times great granddaughter of the first Mother of the Pride, Cer'eza is still considered a holder of the taint. As a cub, she was quieter than most, and she was often caught wandering around the mountains, and the Pride's lands. Most of the time, however, the little one stayed with her mother, learning the ways of the Pride, and of Umbra.
Future Plans: -Mother of the Duniya'Santulana -Babies. Lots of babies.
Quest Age: New! She's for the Duniya, which is a new Pride I/T in which she's going to be a leader. Roleplaying?: Oh god, do I ever! Username: BastetAmun Concept Name: Eosphoros Concept Species: Lion Concept Stage: Adult Concept Gender: Male Description: Body: His pelt is a pure white like the shinning snow, but being one of the last with the old blood he also has darker markings as well. His mane and tail are black, almost the same color as the inky sky. Eyes: His eyes are a crystalline blue Markings: He has black markings upon his body. They can either be tiger like or tribal(it’s up to the colorist). Upon all four of his feet are black lines almost like stepping into mud. Referance
Personality: Eosphoros can be considered a very level-headed ruler who keeps calm under any pressure. He knows and understands what things must be done to help keep the pride striving and is willing to make the rulings and sacrifices to keep everyone safe. As a direct descendent and caring what is considered the taint, Eosphoros understands the meaning and need to keep the two prides working together but also apart from one another. There must always be a distance to these things. He is not a distant leader, preferring to stay in the day to day matters of his tribe, walk amongst the rest and even help train some of the younger ones. He is very compassionate and caring and always has the need of the pride before his own.
History: Through Eosphoros’ father he is directly descended from the first Father of the pride. The only male born to his father, Eosphoros was groomed for his future role as soon as he was old enough to follow his father upon his training walks. He was taught everything he needed to know about the Lumens and the Umbrans as well as how important it was to keep the two tribes from EVER intermingling except upon those two holy days and that was just a celebration. As an adult Eosphoros has taken his father’s teachings to heart and does everything within his power to keep his pride safe.
Future Plans: He is the Father of the Duniya’Santunlana A lot of children and a potential mate.

Username: Chimerical Beast Concept Name: Ulwandhle'Igubela Concept Species: Lion Concept Stage: Adult Concept Gender: Male Description: Poor Igubela is small enough to be confused for an adolescent, and doesn't fit into stereotypically 'masculine' roles. He is fascinated by other cultures and is the lion equivalent of an anthropologist. Most of his research consists of probing travelers and outsiders on the ways of the various prides they've encountered. Igubela can become consumed in his studies to the point of forgetting to eat. Oh, and he's Stormborn. Being a scholar in a pride of vikings isn't easy when all your brothers are he-men, and even one of your sisters is a reaver. Your father thinks there's something wrong with you, and you tend to get the feeling you're letting your family down somehow whenever some brute with the IQ of a sea cucumber decides pound you into the dirt. Here's what he looks like, by the way. Future Plans: I'm going to have him interact a lot with his sister (and the rest of his family when I get them). I might also have him travel to get firsthand knowledge on other prides. But first, his life is going to get worse. Somehow or another, he's going to find himself honor bound to fight in a holmgang against a lion that could eat him for breakfast. When he loses, rather than let his opponent take some of his family's favorite possessions, he's going to become his opponent's personal thrall for a year's time. And it's going to suck. Quest Age: A few weeks. Roleplaying?: I do! You've seen some of it. Here's an example of a SRP of mine, since Igubela is gonna get a lot of that. SoA Newbie?: Yes-ish. I have three wonderful lions! Five SoA as of 7/25! Custom Newbie?: Yes Extra: This all happened because I wanted to figure out my girl Inyoni's backstory. I wanted to know what her family was like. My brain described them to me in detail, and now I'm questing six lions. Six. Lions. If you ever think "Oh, I'll figure out my character's family. And I'll make refs just so I have a handle on them in my own mind. They can all be NPCs." Don't do it. It's a trap.
