[HH 1 vs 1] Looks like he's been, outfoxed (Simply, Jason)

Oh, dam how he hated coming here...

Jason quivered to himself as he stepped through the doors to the haunted mansion, swallowing hard as he cautiously moved towards the next room. He had been happily reading up on some books in the library, when he had been called out for haunted house duty. And that meant he would likely encounter something that would scare him out of his wits. And cause him to run for his life and hope he'd make it out alive. This happened fairly often.

Placing a hand on the edge of a wall, the moon trainee peeked into the next area. Nothing. Okay, he was good. Maybe there would be some hope he wouldn't meet anything here? Plenty of hunters complained how boring haunted house duty could be. He could be lucky too...

A sudden noise cause Jason to yelp, jumping half a mile as he turned to face whatever it was, only to find it had been a loose floorboard creaking. Shaking now, he moved onwards.

"Why me..." He complained to no one in particular

Simply had been on a mission. A very, very simple one. One that even she shouldn't have been able to mess up. She'd been out to get a CroakaCola. really simple. It involved a vending machine and a few coins. Sadly, the door between that vending machine and her location had decided to not allow for simplicity. Nope, it had brought her off to the wonderful world of...

Well wherever this was. She tapped her chin thoughtfully a moment before smiling. "S'place with the human, right?" She vaguely remembered it. That place she'd met her human friend. Or was it hunter? He was a hunter as they called themselves, right? Well, either way! She could see him again since she was here, right?

That, was always a good thing. Meeting friends again couldn't be anything short of good. Even if she still didn't get her soda because of it.

Sadly she hadn't found anyone yet. Not the person she knew, not another halloweener, not even a shadow of a ghost. It wasn't turning out to be a very good visit at all. This was pretty sad really. Her ears were beginning a droop a bit as the very concept of not getting to see her friend started to sink in, until hope sounded from afar. In the form of a loud holler and the sound of movement.

Someone was there. And anyone would do that that point. So without so much as a second thought the ghoul started along happily in the direction she'd heard the noise and rounded the corner in time to spot the back of someone else wearing a white coat. So the same group as... as... wait she'd never even gotten his name? Note to self. Work on that. And by work on that, she meant correct it before she could mess it up. So a few steps to get closer, not even trying to mask her presence before she spoke up, her tone more cheery than it really should have been in such an eery location as she leaned forward a bit toward the fellow. "I'm Simply and you are?!"

She was even being polite. Though it was probably for the best she hadn't been close enough to hear his comment earlier. Why him? Because he wasn't her friend yet and needed to be!

The longer he stayed in this haunted house, the more his nerves seemed to frail and betray his inner turmoil. Jason may have been on plenty of missions, but that didn't make him any more used to the terrors that plagued his mind and surroundings. Especially when the surroundings were creaking and groaning in the wind.

Straining to hear any sounds in the gloom, he was able to hear the footsteps of someone approaching.-

'I'm simply, nd you are?'

"AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

And thus Jason screamed like a girl, and ran away as fast as he could.

She did not get the reply she was expecting. She did not get a proper reply at all... unless...

Was his name really that? Wow. She felt a bit bad for the guy. Even the undead usually didn't get names that bad. But it was ok! She'd still be his friend after all! "WAIT AHHHHHHH! I DON'T MIND!" Because screaming back at the person who was running totally worked well.

Too bad for Jason, Simply hadn't gotten a hug, she she had to chase him. Also, she had to ask about that other hunter too! And well... all signs pointed to her needing to have a conversation, regardless of if Jason wasn't any part of it. "SLOW DOOOOWN!"

Beware. You have a tiny little monster chasing you. She's terribly frightening. Really.

The moon hunter didn't know what was going on, but he did know that whatever had spoken to him was now pursuing him. Jason hadn't gotten a good look at the creature, and neither did he want to. He was content to just keep running and running, his mind giving a decent picture of what 'might' the creature look like (and giving him cause to run even faster)

Now, it might of been smart to, say, use his pendant to warp back to base, but he wasn't in the moon for thinking at the moment.

But it seemed he was in the mood for tripping over. Because he did just that, swearing under his breath as he scrambled to get back up before his pursuer caught up with him.

AH! Why was he still running and screaming? She wasn't even TRYING to be scary, she was trying to be friendly? Humans were just waaaay too skittish. "Hold on, hold on, stop!" She was trying to keep up as best as she could, scrambling after him as they turned this lovely meeting into a game of cat and mouse.

Silly human, she wasn't going to hurt you. At least not intentionally.

It was around the point when Jason fell flat on his face that she couldn't stop herself in time and tripped on him, essentially face planting into him as he hit the floor. They were so graceful, it might have been a beautiful sight for anyone watching. "Oomph!" She did, however, shove herself up after a moment, looking around a moment before realizing she might have caught her prey! "HI THERE AHHHHH!"

...yeeup. Still thought that was his name. "Why were you running?" Jason's doom had arrived. And it came in a handy travel size!

And then, Jason felt something fall on top of him. It didn't so much as scare the pants of the hunter, and in his panic he began to kick, punch, and thrash as he screamed again, thinking the creature had tackled him and was about to devour him alive.

In his screaming and sobbing, he may have heard Simply asked why he was running. His response?

"DON'T EAT ME, PLEASE DON'T EAT ME I DON'T TASTE GOOD!"

And then, just as she was starting to get back to her feet there was a LOT of thrashing. You know. The kind that hurts. Like whoa. She got to hear screaming about eating, and a request not to(when did she say she was going to eat anything?) and-

OW THAT WAS HER HEAD!

She stumbled back away from Jason as something collided with the side of her head, possibly stepping on him rather soundly in the process in her daze. Ouchy- ouch ouch. She was busy rubbing at her head a few more moments before giving Jason quite the pout. "Anything you humans make tastes awful I heard! Why would I want to eat YOU?" She gave a ha-rumph at that, crossing her arms as she sat staring at him.

...though part of her realized then. Was he going to run again? Oh not again. "Wait... are you suggesting you do taste good then?" She cocked her head to one side at that point, a bit curious. Probably not the best thing to ask. Nope, not at all. But... what did a human taste like?

He had the impression that someone had slammed their heel into the small of his back, flinching as the pain made him stop flailing for just a moment. He may have even turned around to see a small girl looking cross at him.

Was this what he had been running form?



Jason wasn't sure weather to take his weapons advice seriously (as he could hear a good amount of snickering involved), but Simply then decided to ask if he tasted good. He wasn't going to take any chances, and was up on his feet running as fast as he could.

And then he was staring at her as she rubbed her head. Yes, yes you. You, Jason, had hit a little ghoul. Meanie. She just wanted to give you a hug, not eat you. Though now she was curious what he tasted like, but that didn't involve eating.

Just maybe a bite. She'd heard human world stuff was nasty though. Never confirmed it, but maybe now she could? .....if he'd stay put. "AH! WAIT!" Maybe she shouldn't have lunged forward as he was getting up, because it scored her a light whack on her hand by his shoe as he charged away.

"COME BACK!" And she was off chasing him again, trying in vain to catch the coattails of his jacket. "HUNTER PERSON STOP!" Hey, at least she knew what he was. This was a step up from last time!

Perhaps Jason did feel bad for hitting a little girl that looked as adorable as a baby fox. Or at the very least he should feel bad. Maybe he should go back and apologize, explain that she was a monster and it was his job to hit little monster girls?


'I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT FROM YOU'

But for now he could hear her shouting after him, which just made him run faster. However as he turned a corner his boot slammed into the end of a rotten plank of wood, sending then other half sky high.

...He kinda sorta hoped Simply hadn't been on the other of that. Maybe.

Why did this human keep running away so much? Goodness, she hadn't even growled, puffed up, or tried to look menacing! It was a shame to be too scary sometimes, wasn't it? It made making friends so hard.

...maybe she should have laid off the glitter. That stuff was kind of scary for some folks.

Sadly, as she was chasing after him the world suddenly went a bit... odd. Meaning the plank she'd stepped on suddenly went up rather sharply, and she leaned she should probably try to weigh more. Because she found herself flying, magically air born, and straight at Jason.

Which resulted in her crashing into him a bit in the process. Sadly, she didn't land so well and merely grumbled in an awkward pile on the ground(or maybe that was Jason), as she worked on figuring out what happened. "...wahhappened?" Also she kind of hurt, but she was more confused as to WHY she'd gone flying than anything.

Ouchies could wait for later.

One minute Jason was running for his life, the next he was having a meeting with the floor as Simply had landed right on his back once more. Considering he hadn't seen anything, he had wondered if she had just pounded on him, wanting to take a bite.

"I DON'T KNOW JUST DON'T EAT ME!" He cried out a again, struggling to get to his feet as he pushed down on the floor.

It then gave a ominous crack, and then he realized he was on the second floor of the haunted house.

"Oh Shi"

And then lots of noise happened as a section of the floor gave way.

She'd landed on something comfy. YAY, SQUISHY! At least that was the thought until she felt that thing squirming to escape again. Oh right, she'd landed on AHHHHHHHH hadn't she? And he was going on about the food thing. "Then just answer the question!" Because she just wanted to kno-

Wait what was that word he started to say? Both of her ears fell as she heard it though, the audible 'creak' of food and then silence before a loud crash as the weight of both suddenly caused the floor to give way below them. "EEEK!" At least she knew to cry out when she fell randomly, even if she had something to land on.

Alas, that didn't help much as she flopped down on the ground as they hit the first floor, several boards hitting her as well as the ache from a less than graceful landing on her side. She was awake, but there were several little skeletal birdies around her head. "Ohh... oh not th' circleszzz..." Yep, she was there, just not well. And certainly not crawling back to her feet.

Ow. Owowowowowow that really hurt. Gravity Jason, GRAVITY. At least she'd forgotten she was supposed to be chasing a hunter for now. He might even get away before she came to her senses.

There was a lot of dust in the air, and Jason coughed and hacked as he tried to figure out his bearings after the fall. He had landed awkwardly on his stomach, thankfully avoiding the mass of wood and timber that had fallen.

Eventually the world stopping spinning enough for him to get to his feet. He was about to run off again when he heard Simply mumble something, and saw that the girl had been hit by the beams.

...He was really tempted to run again, but seeing how she wasn't moving much...ooh

With a grimace, he slided a little closer, moving away some of the larger beams to make sure she had some means of escape, and cautiously glanced at her. By the looks of things she didn't appear too injured...perhaps he should get a little closer...



Nope, nope, all his nopes. Jason bolted away from the scene.
