As most of the dancers scatter to dens to sleep, fleeing from the increasing rain, a small newcomer is just coming into the pride's lands. Lightning flashes, crashing into an old tree. The small mother and her terrified offspring screech in fright, and as the burning tree topples the babies scatter in all directions, crying and seeking a place to hide. The frantic mother calls after them, managing to catch one baby before it disappears. The rest, however, are gone! Though the sun is rising, the storm is nearly black as night, and little can be seen with the lashing rain and blinding lightning. "HELP!" the genet mother cries to any who can hear. "Help! My babies! Lost babies! No eating them!" Her agonized cries attract the attention of those who would help, and the search begins!

How To Play ~ Each baby will have a number between 1 and 75 randomized for them. ~ Write at least one sentence indicating your character is searching for the babies! ~ Randomize 1-75. ~ Let someone else post before you try again! Rules 1. You may only use one character for this game! 2. If you do not have an SoA, you may use a non-lined animal, like a lizard, a zebra, a bat... the possibilities are endless! 3. You must let someone else post before you post again! 4. Minimal rp is required, but we'd love to see some interaction between searchers! 5. You may win only one of the babies. If you find one, you are done! 6. Winners from the Midsummer Dance may join this game! 7. Each baby has its own number. If you choose to pass on the baby you win, it will remain available for winning. (No choosing a different baby than you randomized!) 8. We'd love for these babies to stay in the pride!

Ester's sharp ears caught the cries of the distressed mother. Searching around, she finally located the little female genet with her one remaining baby. It didn't take long to figure out the problem, stirring the medic to immediate action.
As creatures were scattering for cover, she began to grab random passers-by. "Help me look for g-genet babies!" she shouted over the racket of the storm. Thunderclaps rumbled and roared overhead, while the rain still fell in sheets. It was hard to hear anything in the storm, and harder still to see. Finding these babies was going to be difficult in the extreme. "They c-could be anywhere! Look under bushes and p-p-places they could hide. Oh, and look up t-too! Genets c-can c-climb!" Why a baby would climb up a tree in this weather, she couldn't fathom, but she didn't want to leave any place unsearched.
She sent her random group of searchers to begin looking while she turned to the mother genet. She needed to be sure they weren't hurt before sending them into the safety of a nearby den, if the little mother would even consent to go!

Auri walked up to the lioness. "You know, I was deciding if I should head back home yet or not. I guess I could help you look. If I know anything about looking for little kids and critters is that you can't panic. If you panic too much, you won't really be seeing or thinking clearly. You just gotta take a deep breath." He took a deep breath and exhaled to show how he meant. "Now... if we were little genets.. where would we flee too. Well, we'd be tiny and capable of fitting into a lot of places! I'll go over here and look."
He hoped everyone looking would be ok. Weren't they fortunate that he hadn't left yet. His gold shining fur though damp with rain was as radiant as they come he so thought. Surely, it's countenance would be the stroke of luck to draw out these babies.

Kifu's burns were still recovering. He had made a recent habit of going back to Ester every few hours for her magical salve of amazing soothing. But this time she wasn’t where he normally met her. Her scent was there, but she wasn’t. He sniffed the air again, and started following the path. It didn’t take long for him to hear the cries for help; the wild dog recognized her voice by now. He trotted toward her, it wasn’t far and he still could not run full-out yet.
He smiled weakly at her; the lion seemed so distressed it was like her own cubs were missing. “I’ll help. I may be at least able to track down their general area, even if I can’t spot them.” He sniffed the foreign creature’s sent, and the raised his nose to the air, trying to see what he could pick out through the wetness.

Shifting herself through the fire, the greenish lioness was to soon become part of this pride purely after this catastrophe could be pushed aside. "This storm is insane!" She said until she heard that baby genets were missing and started sniffing around, their scents everywhere. Bounding in a random way around the fire and wood, she was going to try and help find them. She knew she saw a tail or two move in front of her and she quickly tried to take hold of then but tripped and slid though got up, only to see that they were gone and huffed. Padding around more, she continued to look for them more in order to help save them. Pell wanted to help because she was to become a part of the place and was not going to let anyone else of this place to be left in the dust. (Of course i would use the lioness i got X3 )

Kifu just ended up with his nose full of water. In all fairness, throwing his nose up in the middle of a rain storm was probably not his best idea, even in a covered area. Nose to the ground would probably work better, hopefully. He dipped his head down, and took in a big sniff. Except that wasn’t very smart either. He got a nose full of mud. He sneezed and most of it came back out onto the ground, but the blind dog had no idea what scent he was looking for anymore.
Sheepishly he went back over to Ester and the little genet, just to take another sniff and recalibrate his nose. He was pretty certain he was tracking mud everywhere, but it was a rain storm, and that was to be expected.

Pell kept moving, feeling like something was around here. She pushed some of the wood on the ground out of the way as she walked, following her sense of direction then having to catch a scent. Spotting another tail, she quickly went after it, trying to grab it, though she slipped and lost the child yet again and sighed as she continued moving about to get one and help. Keeping away from anything that would fall, she flicked her greenish brown tail as her light greenish paws were getting muddy and her fur was getting messy, yet she didn't care at all; little lives were in her and needed to help.

The genet mother's frightened cry pierced Nishati's ear fur.
Instantly, her thoughts were dragged back to a terrible day in her past. As quickly as she could, she forced the visions away, but her agony remained - the loss of her father and her determination against all odds to be with him again. Even if she wanted to, there was no way she could refuse to help and let another child feel the way she felt.
She dove into action beside the rest of the searchers, trying vainly to find a scent through the downpour. She could hear voices calling out for the children and to each other but the wind whipped away any real words before she caught them. She knew there would be no point in shouting and so she struggled on in silence, ears pushed forward almost painfully in an attempt to find the lost babies.

This was turning into a rather disheartening exercise for the wild dog. His nose was normally sharp, clear, perfect, but the mixing of so many unknown animals and the rain was hindering him greatly. Sighing, he trudged through the mud a bit more, before finally picking up on a new scent. He followed it keenly, not able to keep the excitement out of his steps. This was it! He was going to actually save someone. Despite the stinging in his feet, he kept following, and the smell kept getting stronger. It did not match the mother, but it had definitely been near her. Kifu had been paying so much attention to the scent, he was not actually thinking of where he was going. That’s when he crashed into the lioness, toppling backwards as he ricocheted off her. “Oof,” he barked out, “I guess you’re looking for the babies too?” It was the only reason she would have their smell on her.

Falling forward on her rump, she felt something run into her and looked to see it was that wild dog that became Dance Master. "Who wouldn't look for them? They need to be saved!" She said with worry and continued moving, smiling to the wild dog as she moved on, trying to find at least one child. Seeing yet another tail, she tried to grab a child yet she couldn't again and sighed. Continuing her search, she wanted to help the others find them so they wouldn't get harmed.

Kifu could not help but snicker a bit at that while finding his feet again. Apparently being covered in mud was par for the course for the rest of his life if the past few days were any indication. “Right, of course,” the lioness seemed pretty focused and uninterested working together. That was fine, maybe his nose would finally do what it normally did and lead him to the right spot. The wild dog was not going to allow himself to get discouraged, the hunt had just started after all, but even if he was a little annoyed with his lack of tracking, knowing there were others searching for the babies was heartening. He took in another deep breath, trying to sort out any scents that could be promising. The rain was not their ally, even if there was a drought. It was just confusing the trail the little ones had taken.

Pell started to pick up the pace even more, wanting to hurry and find one. Catching some scents, she tried to follow the strongest one as she moved to get whatever she could catch. She finally spotted one and pounced to get ha hold of it, yet she slid another way and groaned as she stood up and sighed as it was already gone. Getting up and setting herself right, she continued moving to find one yet again.

The female genet made an awful lot of noise, and she didn't seem to appreciate all the helpful strangers. She didn't have a huge vocabulary, but the words "NO" and "Stupid lion!" were frequently used. Didn't she understand that they were all just trying to help? Apparently not... She hissed and placed herself between the large brown lioness and her remaining cub.
"No eat him," she hissed, "I bite you!"
The genet was out of her comfort zone. She preferred to stick to the trees where she could taunt larger predators and catch tasty birds. But the tree had crumbled under her paws and she was disoriented and angry. And she was missing babies. Viverri wasn't the best at counting, but she certainly knew the difference between 6 babies and one. And an awful lot of large predators were moving in the area. This couldn't be good!
