[1v1] A tricky palooka (Enzo vs. Nahm)

[Bilious]

Enzo bobbed and weaved, taking several jabs at the dummy ahead of him. He was slacking, he knew. In all the instances where a good fight had broken out, he had only just barely managed to keep up. He knew he needed to do something about it.

Training dummies only did so much, though. If he wanted anyone to take him seriously, he needed to learn to kick some serious a**.

Someone started clapping behind Enzo, though the sound had a slightly odd muffled quality to it, the effect of applauding while wearing gloves. "Knock 'em out, tiger," Nahm said, grinning from inside his hood. He could have been mocking, or he could have been genuinely complimenting; it was impossible to tell.  

[Bilious]

Red faced, Enzo whirled around to spot his evesdropper, his thick brows narrowing. He relaxed slightly when he recognized the hooded grin. "Nick, right?"

"Nahm," the grue replied, and snapped his teeth to suggest the sound effect his name resembled. "Enzo, is it? Seen you around Critter."  

[Bilious]

"Yeah yeah, we had a class or two together toboot," He stretched his shoulders, pulling his suspenders back up over his sweaty undershirt with his thumbs as he looked the taller boil up and down. "That New Media, man. I think I'm taking to it well. What brings you here, fella?"

"Like a fish to vodka." Nahm grinned. "Bored. Ahm's got a conquest in our room so I'm banned for another hour or so. I'd steal Roch's bike, but it ain't there."  

[Bilious]

"Buncha' students with wheels around here," Enzo stroked his chin a moment debating, "I'd steal my Sister's car, but town's too far off t'be worth it, lucky for her." He cracked a few knuckles, glancing from the punching bag dummy to the demon and smirked. "How about we throw in a few rounds? Could kill some time, bub!"

"Sounds good to me," Nahm agreed. He slipped his outer robe off and tossed it aside, leaving himself in a fairly normal, if layered and tattered, outfit. The hood and scarf stayed on, as did the gloves. He rolled his shoulders, stretched out his hands, and let his claws pop through the fingertips of his gloves. "Anytime you're ready."  

[Bilious]

Enzo assumed his fighting position, hands balled into fists as he regarded his opponent.

He hoped Nahm didn't see him shrink back a bit at the sight of the claws.

In the corner of the room where he had been snoozing, The Boss gave a startled thrum of bass beats upon sensing his Master's ill-ease.

"Come on, y'palooka! Let's see whatcha got!" He put the sass back in his voice to mask his slight terror.

Nahm's ear twitched at the sound, and the glow of his eyes flickered over to where the Boss rested in the corner. Was that a weapon or a familiar? He had no idea, but he was going to assume familiar; if he let himself assume it couldn't move on its own, he might get an unpleasant surprise.

He darted in to rake his claws across Enzo's chest, not bothering with any warmups or taunts.

The claws came quick, and Enzo's expression twisted into panic for a moment as they caught him across the chest. "Tryin' to catch me off guard, eh??" He immediately grinned, bobbing under another blow to swing his fist around and up to catch the taller boil's chin.

The Boss grew anxious, wheeling upright to hurry toward them, hovering at the edge of their makeshift "ring" area at the ready, already humming low to draw the attention of several creepy crawlies gathering in the shadows around them.

"You thought I was gonna fight fair?" Nahm's teeth clacked audibly as the reaper's fist caught him under the chin, and he backed away a few steps, working his jaw thoughtfully. "You got a good uppercut," he mused. A glance sideways told him that the familiar was moving on its own. He'd have to be wary of attack from that direction.

He wasn't, technically, outnumbered, but it'd be good to make this as fast as he could. He darted in again, half-crouched, and swung an elbow into Enzo's side.

"OOF!" The elbow caught him off guard, and Enzo doubled over with a wheeze, leaving himself open.

Nahm grinned sharply and let the momentum of his twist bring him back around, retracting his claws as he closed his fist and delivering a good hard sock to Enzo's jaw. It'd been a while since he'd had a good brawl.

Enzo was sent scrambling back, seeing stars as his back hit the dummy he had previously been boxing against.

Alright, a real target was... a lot trickier. He flexed his jaw, blinking wide-eyed as he waited for his vision to clear, but already The Boss had picked up his playing, giving them a decent heartbeat of background music- but also had drawn in the attention of a bunch of glittering eyes from the corners of the room.

"So it's gonna' be like that, is it?" Enzo wheezed before grinning. Instead of throwing a punch, his hands raised, humming along with the bass before snapping his fingers.

Taking their queue, a torrent of rats suddenly leaped out from their various hiding spots, leaping onto Nahm with vicious, possessed rodent fury, biting and clawing as they wriggled up his pant legs and onto his arms and anywhere else they could crawl.
