A small settlement located in San Jose. Not designed for more than ten people until someone works on rebuilding it.

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageIt was five years since the day that Wesker, who now went by Albert to everyone who knew him, gave up on his attempt to save the world. Ultimately, he'd just stopped caring. If humans wanted to destroy the world, then let them destroy the world. He would sit by and watch as it happened. It wouldn't be his fault and he wouldn't try to stop it. He left Umbrella. And since Umbrella was only being kept up by his ideas, his orders, his attention, the company collapsed. The employees that remained all scattered, some in groups, some alone, to attempt to survive in the apocalyptic world.

Wesker himself changed in several ways. He kept the sunglasses, only so he could hide his eyes from view, but ditched the entire black outfit and found some more normal clothing. He had a dufflebag to carry all the clothing, bullets, and food he found on his own journey. He carried only his Eagle and a sniper rifle as weapons. He still had, of course, the superhuman abilities that the virus gave him, but he was more careful about using them around other people. Three years passed before he found a small settlement. There was never more than ten people. New people came bearing rumors of some safehaven, and when they left to find it, a couple of those who had settled there followed them. Albert never left. Those who lived in the settlement never questioned who he was. User ImageMany didn't even know the name of 'Wesker', but those who did had never known his first name. Which was ideal, since he didn't want to actually change his name.

Another two years passed and more rumors came, more people left. The population of the small settlement never dropped below three, but never raised above eight. Nobody wanted to settle in one place. Nobody but Albert. He was perfectly content to stay here for as long as he could. It was only when someone came from Los Angeles and claimed that it was being rebuilt for survivors, and everyone wanted to go back with him, that Albert decided that perhaps it was time for a change of scenery. So the next day, when the newcomer and the whole population of the small settlement packed up and left, Albert was among them. For the first half of the trip, he stayed to the back of the group, and went mostly ignored.

He didn't mind the solitude. He had spent the greater portion of his life alone, even those times when he had a 'partner'. The last time he had considered himself part of any group was back when he was in S.T.A.R.S. and worked with Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, and several others. Occasionally, one of the survivors fell back to walk with him and he talked with them as if he was one of them. None of them ever suspected that he was the one people blamed for the current state of the world.

Skyla has traveled far from where she last camped. She kept the picture of her mother and father hidden in a secret pocket that was in her jacket. That very picture reminds her exactly why she has something to live forward too. Of course Sjyla has her mother's kind nature but she has her father's stubbornness. She heard rumors that there was a place full of survivors and she hoped she wasn't too late to find it. She just desperately want to believe that her mother and father was there holding out. In the beginning of the outbreak her father and her were running through the town they lived in but got separated due to the people running in terror. Slyla managed to get grabbed when someone was pushing to get into a car so she got pushed into a deserted alley. She tried looking for her father but couldn't find him nor could her yelling for him help because her voice was lost in the screams.

Skyla was walking on a deserted road but stopped as she heated footsteps. It sounded like someone was dragging through feet and they were moving closer. She heard moans in the distance as she didn't want to cause any noise with her gun so she pulled out her knife her father gave her instead. She ran towards the first zombies that appeared around the corner as she jumped and stabbed the zombie in the head. She pulled out her blade and there it at the next one that came her way. She turned in time to grabbed the zombie that appeared behind her and twisted around d and snapping its neck. Skyala took a deep breathe as she walked over to the zombie and took out her blade. She just hope she finds this place before nightfall.

Nightfall fell upon the deserted street that Skyla was taking. Exhaustion was taken its toll as her muscles ached for her to stop and rest but she had to keep going. Her gut felling was telling her she was getting close to her destination as she pushed on forward. So far Skyla only ran into a few zombies a few miles back as she kept looking over her shoulder to see if she missed any. What felt like days, Skyla finally made I to the gates of San Jose survivors group. She just prays that they let her in instead of turning her away.

Recap:
Another outbreak has occurred world wide and no one knows who was responsible for it. Choas broke out as many people around the world was infected causing those who were strong enough to survive on the brink of extinction. All hope was lost until the survivors started fighting back. Groups of towns with large number of survivors was spread around as one of these towns was the city of Los Angeles. Among these groups was ex-S.T.A.R.S member Rebecca Chambers, Lauren Hayes, Kaiden, and Andrew. It was suppose to be a place of security, of peace, and mostly hope as every member in that surviving group made sure Los Angeles was safe. Until a breach in the wall was broken and they were out number by the hordes of zombies who killed many of the survivors. Rebecca Chambers did her best to save as many as she can but her beat friend, Lauren Hayes wasn't so lucky.

Present:
Rebecca kept her eyes focus on the road as she tried her beat to distract herself. The image of her best friend being devoured by zombies kept slowly popping into her head. She gripped the wheel tight as they were heading towards San Jose as she caught wind that there might be a place with survivors. Rebecca was exhausted as she slept less as she made it her job to protect those who made it out. She didn't want to see anymore people die. Rebecca mind drifted that she lost track on how much gas she had until the car started shaking. She looked down and cursed as the car was dying out due to no gas. Rebecca wanted to punch something but couldn't as she pulled off the road. She jumped out and looked at the many puzzled faces. "I'm sorry, I didn't notice that the car needed to be refilled so looks like we will have to travel the rest of the way on foot. Grab what you can, food, water, first aid, and make sure we stay as a group."

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageAlbert was alone once again in the back of the group. Those in front of him were talking about things they missed from the world before it went apocalyptic. Most of what he heard was superficial things, things like cell phones and computers and games and money. Why they were still hoping for things like that was beyond him. He had never really cared for anything superficial. He used them to do what he needed to, and that was it. He hadn't relied on them as much as everyone else seemed to.

There was one from the group that had gone ahead, scouting for zombies or dogs or anything the rest of the group would have to watch for. The scout had a walkie talkie, and Albert had the other one. He hadn't volunteered for the part of leader, but he had inevitably ended up with it thanks to the fact that he was the one who was always at the settlement when people showed up. They had all just assumed he was in charge. And he hadn't bothered to correct them.

User Image The walkie talkie crackled to life and Albert unclipped it from his pants, lifting it up to listen. "There's a group of people ahead, and I can see a car far beyond them. Looks like they ran out of gas," said the voice on the other side.
"Stay hidden and wait for us to get there," he ordered. "You got it," said the scout. He returned the walkie talkie to it's place on his hip and kept walking."Those of you with weapons, get them ready. There's a group of survivors ahead and we don't know if they're friendly or not," he said. A few of the people checked their guns, making sure they had plenty of bullets and readying themselves for a fight, just in case.

Rebecca stood off standing while she watched everyone sit down and rest. Its been a hell of a day as they held up their group d to fight off any zombies that stumbled upon them. Rebecca kept her gun holsted as she walked around d the group to make sure no one was injured or to see if anyone need her assistant. She looked up at the sky to see if any sign of guidance will help but she found none. Rebecca then sat alone a bit away from the group.

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageIt wasn't long until the other group of survivors came into view ahead of them. Albert took two men with guns ahead, leaving the rest of those with weapons behind to protect those few without weapons. The scout came out of hiding and joined Albert. "I really hope they're friendly, because there's way more of them than there is of us," he said. The scout was young, only seventeen, but was braver than half of the survivors traveling with Albert, and because of that, Albert had taken somewhat of a liking to him.

"Don't worry. They'll be friendly." he said. And if they weren't, then he could always convince them to be friendly, though he would prefer avoiding that method if he could. He led the way to the group that was now resting. He pulled his gun out it's holster and checked it as he walked. When he got close enough to the group, he spoke. "Friend or foe?" he asked. Some survivors were more scavengers and did whatever they could to take what they needed, even if it meant killing the one who owned what they needed or wanted. Were he more trusting, he might think that a group this large couldn't be scavengers, but he knew better. Just because there was a lot of them didn't mean they wouldn't kill for food.

Rebecca sat quietly as the memories of the first time she encounter a zombie was back in the Arklay Mountain. It was when she was dispatched there and met Billy Corn. Time and time she caught her mind drifting on the ex convicted wondering whatever happened to him. Rebecca let out a huff as she wished there was a time where life was back to normal. She felt with this situation more times then she count as remember would imgen her life with kids, a house and staying in S.T.A.R.S.

Rebecca heard a voice ask the question as she turned and looked to see everyone has stood up. Rebecca made her way through the crowd as she made her way to the front. She held her gun at her side as she looked and stopped in her tracks. She recognized that face, she would never forget the person who tried pulling a bullet into her and trying to end her life. Her once green eyes which is now turned blue looked at the faces next to him and saw no threat, just a hint of being scared and being on guard. Rebecca took a deep breath not wanting to place her group in any danger. "We mean no harm. Just got stranded as the place we once.called him got out run by zombies back in L.A." She looked at her former Captain as she still held her gun just in case she wasn't reading their faces wrong.

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageAlbert recognized the woman who walked forward. The only difference was her eye color, and he wondered what had happened. He acted like he didn't recognize her, hoping she wouldn't give away who he was. He wasn't even sure if she knew all of what he had done, but even if she didn't, they still didn't have the best history. When she mentioned LA, he could feel the eyes of those behind him on his back. That was where they were going. He knew what they were thinking. 'Now what do we do?' He sighed and rubbed his eyes, putting his gun back in it's holster. Two days of traveling right down the drain. It would take another two days to get back to San Jose, and he knew the rest of his group wasn't going to be happy about this.

"You're all on your way to San Jose?" he asked, lowering his hand again. Too bad they ran out of gas. It would have made the two day trip a lot shorter. "We just came from there. We were going to LA," he explained. He heard a murmur behind him, and turned his head to glance back at them. The murmuring fell silence at once and Albert turned his head forward again.

Andrew and Kaidan had followed Rebecca, getting into one of the trailers as she drove off. When they stopped, Andrew was annoyed that the car hadn't been prepped for an emergency like that. Naturally, he still said nothing. He walked next to Kaidan as the group traveled, and when a smaller group found them, he watched them silently. He tugged lightly on Kaidan's jacket to get his attention. "There's more survivors," he said, his voice only loud enough that Kaidan would hear it. He nodded in the direction that Rebecca was standing with the small group.

Rebecca wasn't sure if Wesker knew who she was, if he did then he played it off well. She didn't want to cause any trouble for her group and so she looked at him as she saw her face reflecting from his sunglasses. " Yes, L.A has been completely breeched. The hordes of zombies managed to break through our gates along with a few dogs and crows. If you're lucky there might still be some parts of L.A that is safe. We heard rumors there is a safe place in San Jose so I hope if you don't mind to take us in. We have supplies enough to last for a few months. Although its my fault for no thinking to grab gas for my car. Too much zombies to even think to grab any." Rebecca at least prayed that Wesker had a heart and take them in, hell if he wanted her to stay behind and just take the people then she will gladly do so. Rebecca is guessing that either he told these people he traveled with the truth about him or either he kept it secret but either way, she just wanted to save these people. The feeling of loosing anymore would just crush her.

"May I speak to you in private sir?" Rebecca asked as she was close to calling him Captain. She remember when he approached after graduating at such a young age to join S.T.A.R.S. it was one of her greatest accomplishment as she felt like her life on track. Until it was taken away as she was used as a lab rat when Wesker sent her team to that damb mansion. Now she stands before him, begging to at least take her people in.

Skyla was welcomed with open arms when she first stumbled upon this safe haven. She couldn't remember the last time she slept in a comfortable bed or even had a shower. Skyla did her best to keep her part in staying with this group as she went out scouting, hunting, aiding the injured or even cooking and serving everyone. It was a nice day here at this place as Skyla was standing against a wall looking at the picture of her parents. She smiled at it as it always kept her going and keeping her alive in this world. Skyla looked up as everyone was waking up from their sleep and so she placed her picture away in her secret pocket and started making her way to the kitchen to make some breakfast. She had to admit but she was a very good cook and she enjoyed seeing them smile when they get their plates. Skyla was told that there were more of them but she didn't mind one bit.

While Andrew was annoyed, Kaidan was just a little exasperated. He didn’t say anything, though. Just walked along with the group, his eyes focused forwards. When they stopped, he waited, distracted only by Andrew’s hand on his jacket. He looked down at him, before looking back over to the direction he’d indicated. Without a word, he made his way over, standing quietly and a little ways back, but keeping his focus on the one that Rebecca was talking to.

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageHe thought it over. They could continue to LA, but with the breach in the fence, there was no point in continuing on that way. They might as well go back to San Jose with this group. They might stand a better chance in a larger group anyway.

When she asked to speak to him in private, he hesitated, then nodded. He turned to the men behind him and instructed them to bring the rest of the group here to rest with the larger group, then walked away, expecting Rebecca to follow.

Once they were far enough away from the group and out of earshot of the others, he turned back to her.
"What is it?" he asked. Did she realize who he was? He didn't want to tell her to keep her mouth shut in case she didn't. Saying something like that, if she didn't already know, would make it clear to her. "I'm going to take my group back to San Jose. We're going to have to work to expand. It's not meant for many people right now," he said, already thinking out how to expand the settlement.

When Kaidan moved forward to listen to the two talk, Andrew started to follow. He didn't make it three steps before he was pulled aside. He immediately grabbed his dagger and took a swung at whoever grabbed him. He was released, but when he tried to run for Kaidan, a hand closed around his arm. "Andrew, relax," a voice said. Andrew tensed up. The voice was something from his past. He was almost scared to look. "Andrew, look at me, please." Andrew hesitated for another few moments, then turned to look at the man holding him. The eyes almost made him recoil. They were completely brown. But Andrew knew that it was his father. He dropped the dagger and threw his arms around Damian, hugging him as tight as he could.
