Nefertari laid in the den her and Ulimi'siri had chosen when they had first come to the new pride, utterly exhausted but overly excited. Despite the new and challenging happenings in the pride she and Ulimi had started a family. This was something they had always wanted together and it had finally happened. The lioness looked at her newborn cubs with a smile, tears pushing at the brim of her eyes. They were so lovely. Some of them had her coloring and some had Ulimi's. Each of them had a pelt that showed a mix of them both. It made her heart hurt, in a good way. Only one shared the same eyes as Ulimi though. There were two girls and three boys. Every second of pain she endured to bring them into the world was beyond worth it as she stared lovingly at their tiny little faces. The lioness sniffled lightly before gently licking each one of their faces and purring loudly. Nefertari couldn't even believe the amount of love she had for these tiny little beings that laid next to her. They hadn't been in the world very long but she already couldn't imagine her life without them. They were more than she had ever hoped for. Just a few hours before they weren't here and now they were. It was amazing how in just a short time your life could change so much, but for the better. Nefertari wanted to keep them close to her forever. These five cubs were everything to her.
"They're so beautiful." She said softly to her mate with a tired but gentle smile as a couple tears finally breached her eyelids.
Kafele could hear someone purring but his eyes remained closed. He had opened his eyes once but the world was so bright and it hurt. Instead he just listened quietly as the lioness purred and licked him and his siblings faces. It felt nice. Safe. He liked that. Kafele stretched out his whole body, pressing himself closer to the lionesses chest in the process and letting her purr vibrate through him. Then she began to talk and he felt his curiosity peak. Who was she talking to? He hadn't seen anyone else before but he had opened his eyes, saw her and how bright everything was and just closed them. Kafele needed to know who the other being was so he opened them again and this time he saw a blue lion with multi-colored hair. He didn't feel like this lion was dangerous either. He felt reassured by him in fact. "Mmm." Kafele finally made a noise as he stretched himself out again, once more pressing himself into the lioness.
