The mountains were in no way like the swamps. Actually, the mountains were the complete opposite of the swamplands. Bonwa didn't know he liked that or not. He missed the feeling of the slick mud in between his paw pads, and the practically stained coat he always managed to keep. But one thing was certain for the golden lion, he did enjoy seeing the sun a lot more.
The said lion was sprawled on a boulder, enjoying the sun's rays. His tail beat the ground softly, strumming a beat as he hummed. He was relaxed, probably a little more relaxed then one would think after the predicament the pride had endured many moons ago. Bonwa didn't like to dwell on the past though. He was looking forward to the future.

Zafi had survived the move from the swamps to the mountains (though not everyone in her family did), and though she missed her swamplands greatly she had adjusted better than most to the mountains. The atmosphere was certainly different, but that was why the red and black lioness enjoyed it. Watching her mother struggle with the disappearance of her father in the aftermath of the fire had not been easy and now that they'd relocated they had been presented with a clean slate.
She fully intended to take advantage of it.
So there she was, prowling about their new lands intent on exploring every bit of it before she was satisfied.
And it was this decision that lead her to the golden lion. "I thought sunbathing was more of a female thing," she commented, a playful smirk on her lips. She said it playfully, no insult intended.

An ear flicked at the sound of the other approaching. It wasn’t the soft padding that brought him from his thoughts, but the voice the accompanied it. Red eyes peeked open for a moment, noting the sound coming from behind him. With a soft groan, he rolled over, yet not getting up. A small smirk plagued his maw as he set sights on the black female before him.
“Mmm I can’t have the females having all the fun.” He replied, rolling into the softened grasses of the mountain, scratching his cheek. “Besides, since the fire there hasn’t been much going on, other than the Queen’s festivities.” Bonwa wasn’t to participate this year in the events. He would cheer on his fellow pride mates though.
“Are you competing this year?” the lion asked a little lazily, his head lifted from the ground.
