Now that she was sure of her place within the pride Iesha was eager to get to sparring. It had hard to think about what rank she would take, and other things like that, so she wanted to handle it the way she did most things; by beating the snot out of something.
The gruff lioness padded her way to the training area, looking around for someone just as eager as her to go a couple of rounds. To them she probably looked like a slab of fresh cut rogue, but she didn't care; she'd show them, just like she'd show everyone else. She knew she wasn't cut out to be a medic, so there wasn't any point in bothering them. Water seekers, Wardens...Nope, nope. The others....ugh, her waffling was probably what made her look so fresh in the beginning.

Wandering about the dueling area Sekayi had to frown. The lion had been hoping to spot the rogue female that Suditi had spoken of, but so far he only saw familiar faces who he had to decline for duels. No, he wanted to save his strength for the female who had excited his training partner so boldly. Now he wanted to find her and test her strength. It would be interesting to see if this new spirit had enough to interest him as well.
Secretly though he worried about Suditi's opinion and like usual held some doubt. Someone strong and fresh? Most rogues who came here had just wandered in by chance in his opinion, they hadn't faced the true battles that he had since coming here. Nor had they been the companion of a battle crazed warrior. Sighing the lion gave up on his chase and started to just train by himself against the rocks bordering the training area. Fur damp from the sweat of moving so much beneath the hot sun Sekayi paused when someone new caught his eye. Was this the female that Suditi had praised so much?
Moving gracefully across the sands the lion approached the female, "Are you looking to duel perhaps? If so then come on!"

Iesha rolled her head about her shoulders and began her stretching routine. Even if she'd never been the best at fighting, she'd been limber enough, and that was something of her mother's teachings she could use quite well. She stretched and popped, twisted and curled until everything felt nice and loose. And with good timing, too! Just as she finished the last pop a lion approached her, one of rogue blood if she'd venture a guess.
Her curious gaze turned into an excited, if not all out manic grin as she instantly dropped into the same position she'd copied from Suditi. It was a sham of it, but it proved more useful than any other technique she'd picked up. "Ready and willing!" As soon as she thought he was ready she charged out, raising a heavy paw high in the air before bringing it down on his shoulder with a thwack. Her claws weren't out, since there was no use maiming him, but because of that she'd had to put more effort into it.

As Sekayi moved across the sands for his attack the lion stumbled as he instantly recognized the position used by the new female. She was copying Suditi! Of course once he realized that it was too late and the lion had to curse at the sudden shock of being hit. Suditi always got a hit with that starting move on him too. Dammit. There was something else that was so familiar about her...it really was putting him off...
Still as he tried to get a good judgement of his opponent Sekayi slowed, "Either you just happen to know a same stance as my sparring partner or you're the lioness who fought against Suditi." He commented with a narrowed gaze, "I just hope you can provide the good fight she promised."
With that he twisted in the sands thoughtful of his next move.

Iesha gave her sparring opponent a wink and stuck out her tongue. "Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how much you know, and if the techniques work out." While he slowed she became more methodical about her movement choices. Since joining the Firekin Iesha had been sparring almost nonstop, since she had yet to be chosen by a family to raise their cubs. Hopefully by seeing how dedicated she was that would all change soon.
Pulling a move of her own, Iesha faked a run at the left, only to dodge in on the right for another thwack at his shoulder.

"Seems to be working." Muttered Sekayi as she went once more for his shoulder. The surprise of her going for the same place sent him back through the sands and the lion gritted his teeth against the throbbing pain, "What are you trying to do pull my shoulder out of my whole body?"
Still his comment was meant to be a distraction, but the lion didn't realize how off the hit had placed him. So instead of finding her shoulder with his claws the lion twisted from the random pain and ended up clawing air instead. Dammit she really was throwing him off!

Iesha gave a snorting whoop and bounced away. "If it'll get you to shut up and drop your balls for a better fight then I'll rip it out with my teeth!" She laughed. Her eyes were wild and open as she danced around the sand. Now that she had gotten used to the terrain all she could do was fight.
His bad aim was rewarded with a thwack to his rump. "Get over it and push forward! Come on!" It was starting to annoy her how off he seemed to be. Weren't the males in this pride supposed to have gumption?
Iesha snorted and tossed her name out of her eyes.

Sekayi snorted, "Like I would let you get that far with me!" Still though her teasing was making his own fighting spirit rise and the lion was finding his footing once more. Who cared about who she reminded him of? He was still going to give it to her!
"Alright! You asked for it!" Letting out a blood thirsty growl the lion kicked off from the sands and raked his paw across her shoulder. His claws weren't out though so he just ended up shoving her back in the sand. Still though his battle spirit had come too late again and the pain in his shoulder made him wince as he braced himself for her comeback.

"There we go, Princess!" Iesha coaxed it out of him. Rage and anger were just passion in a duel, so to her angered words were the same as sweet laughter.
She should have known that getting him riled up that like would have consequences, but Iesha rarely thought that far in advance. When she felt his paw on her shoulder she let out a yowl. "Finally!" Hot damn. Woohoo, that boy packed a punch.
Moving away from him to get some distance, she rolled her now bruising shoulder as she thought. What should she go for next?

Really? Princess?! Sekayi fumed though her playfulness in the fighting really was getting to him. It didn't really make him angry like the teasing words from someone else, but he was frustrated at his own inability to give her a true fight. How was it he asked her to show him something yet he had been so lacking?
"You really should focus more on fighting than wasting breath!" He commented sharply before pulling back to brace his own shoulder. Dammit it was really starting to hurt. How had he let her beat him so easily like this?
Pretty face or not...the thought made him swerve in the sand and miss his next swipe towards her. Still his flush wasn't at his miss but at the thought from before.Did he really just compliment her? But it was true watching her in the excitement of battle really did make his heart race...and not for the fight either. Oh dammit...Sekayi shook his head as he pulled back.

As a Cubsitter Iesha had her fill with watching cubs spit up in rage, and cry when things didn't go their way. All in all that's what she thought of this red male with his snappy attitude. Tensions always seemed to run down hill fast when someone was on the losing side, as she was slowly coming to understand.
"I'm sorry, am I to quick for you?" Iesha pouted, then gave him a toothy grin. She was a little bruised, but nothing a quick rub down wouldn't fix up. He, on the other hand, needed a good power nap and a time out!
She ran in again and raised her head to bring it down on his. There was nothing Iesha loved more than a good head butt, which spoke wonders for her brain cells.

Sekayi opened his mouth to retort when her headbutt took him by surprise. Suddenly the world was spinning and the lion found that he was too dizzy to land his last attack. Was not expecting that... Wincing he rubbed his skull and peered at Iesha through his mane. What a female...
"I'm done." Sekayi flopped on the ground and realizing that he was staring the lion flushed, "You've definitely done a number on me..." He laughed quietly, "If I keep fighting like this you might actually take a limb from me next." The young soldier grinned, "But seriously...Thanks. You're really something." Really she would fit right in here. That spirit for fighting...it really was something. He couldn't help but to admire it.
Though later he would be seriously pushing himself to train harder than before. After all he wanted a rematch with her at some point!

Iesha spat out a wad of bloody spittle into the sand and wiped her mouth off with the back of her paw. Her head was throbbing a bit now, but it was well worth it in the end.
She sat down beside of him, and smiled easily. "You did better towards the end. I think if you would have worked on your bite a little more you could have had me." Not really, but she liked to be nice when others were nice to her. It was a rare occurrence, so she'd rather not waste it.
"Thanks. Glad that someone thinks so. I haven't had a very warm welcome." She brushed her mane out of her face and stood once more. Iesha cast him one last look and quirked her maw in a grin. "If you get the urge to have your a** whooped again, you know where to find me."
And in the way of her mother, Iesha sashayed away from the training grounds to join the rest of the pride once more a victor.
