Myka was quite fond of Noomi. No matter how she was feeling on any particular day, any time that she stopped by to see Noomi, she always left smiling. The lioness was her favorite dye-crafter in the pride, and Myka was always sure to bring Noomi the very best of her goods.
Noomi always appreciated it, and it meant that Myka could spend time with the other lioness under the guise of work.
"Tell me what you think of these blossoms, Noomi."
Myka fell silent and watched Noomi sift through the flowers with a certain sort of reverence, a soft smile on her muzzle.

"Gods damn it, Myka. You've got a way with plants. I've never seen such bright colors, and I doubt I'll ever see such colors again. You've got a talent, girl."
Noomi hunched over the delicate blossoms that filled an empty turtle shell, reaching out now and again to sift her paws through the fragrant, delightful flowers. Each time she did, the blooms released a rich, almost fruity fragrance that lingered on the air.
It was bloody fantastic, and Noomi was half-convinced that Myka had been graced such a gift by the Gods themselves. Either that or it was witchcraft, Noomi wasn't entirely certain.

Myka stood by proudly. She wasn't one to boast, but she did have a way with plants - most of which she supplied to Noomi or the healers that worked within the pride. There was something breathtaking about bringing life forth from the earth, and with Neska's help she'd sectioned off a little plot of land near her den.
It was there that she grew flowers, berries, and leafy greens that were used for a various number of things - dyes and paints, salves and medicines; the possibilities were quite endless.
"I'm glad you're so appreciative of my work," Myka's voice was mellow and sweet, much like the lioness herself. It was part of the reason the much louder and far more boisterous Noomi enjoyed her company. She was not easily offended and always eager to laugh. This was something that Noomi could appreciate, Noomi with her oftentimes brash demeanor, her inappropriately torrid jokes.

"Did I hear mention you've found a berry that, when crushed, creates an orange juice that stains the paw? I should like to see that next, Myka. Orange is not a color that is quite easy to come by, not without grinding your paws into mash by mixing stone dust and water. It's a popular color, though, nearly as popular as the reds; sometimes I think it is because the Reavers of the pride are very stupid, as orange is an awful color and I do not understand the appeal."
Noomi grinned at Myka before she turned her attention back to the blooms at her feet.

"I did. Neska actually brought it to my attention. She's also got an eye for color, and she's not afraid to get her paws dirty so that I don't have to."
Myka spoke fondly of her thrall, her eyes locked on Noomi's paws as the lioness worked the blossoms into a mashed up paste.
"Do you see the slight shimmer of iridescence in the petals? Almost a blue shift if you dare look close enough. I think it will be a fine dye for darker Reavers."
Myka pushed a small leafy satchel closer to Noomi.
"Add a little of this. I think you'll find the result quite breathtaking."

Noomi laughed robustly, reaching out with an orange-stained paw to draw the satchel closer. Very carefully she added a little of the yellow powder; the effect was immediate and quite stunning, as streaks of bright red wept into the vivid orange.
"You're practicing witchcraft in that den of yours, Myka, gods be damned. I don't know what just happened here, but bring all you've got to me so that I can make more."
Noomi rubbed the stiff paste between her paws, sitting back on her haunches.
"It's fantastic. What is it? I'm interested to know your secrets."
She glanced up at Myka, grinning widely.

"Neska caught a fish earlier in the week. When she gutted it, I discovered it fat with eggs. I took the eggs, gutted them, and then started sprinkling it on different flowers just to see what would happen when mixed together."
Myka giggled softly.
"It will smell a little foul the longer you continue to work it, but the stench will go away with time. The less you mix it, the better - that's what I've found. I've more powder back at my den, which I'll have Neska deliver with the rest of the orange flowers once they've been harvested."

"Gods damned fantastic," Noomi grunted before she lifted her paw to test the scent. It was distinctly fishy, but hadn't been mixed enough to make it foul.
"I'm keen on a green color, one that leans more yellow-green than true green. I've got a connection with a Reaver, one who is always on the lookout for cloth scraps while out on patrol. I think it would look nice for Priestess Brynja, and I've an interest in creating a gift for the lady."
Noomi paused and scooped the mash of flowers and fish egg into a turtle shell, covering it with a flat rock before glancing up at Myka.

Myka nodded and rose to her feet.
"Absolutely. I've got a flower coming into bloom now that I can use to lighten the green dye you already have. It shouldn't take long. I'll send Neska over with it later this evening along with the orange blooms and the rest of the egg powder."
Myka couldn't stop smiling as she dipped her head in farewell. Praise from Noomi was always welcome. It was nice to see someone else enthusiastic about their craft, someone who took pride in the things they created for the rest of the Stormborn.
"I'll stop by tomorrow to make sure the yellow-green is exactly what you've asked for."

"Sounds fantastic, Myka. You know I appreciate the work you do," Noomi was distracted by the texture of the orange dye that coated her paws, but she lifted her gaze to meet that of the smaller lioness.
"I look forward to seeing Neska tonight, then! Let me know if there is anything you need from me. I will send a thrall back tonight with your satchel, as well as a few shells."
Grinning after Myka until she could no longer see her, Noomi once more turned her attention back to the dye that was on her paws. With a thoughtful hum, she retreated to the depths of her den.
