Astrid was confused. Probably more confused then she was when she had last spoken with Kaitrus. Her mother had told her exactly what the male had meant, and still she didn’t quite understand. This whole claiming thing…why did it have to happen? She didn’t want to be claimed by another lion, yet she didn’t want to leave her mother either. Right now, especially with the seven cubs, her mother needed her. She needed help raising the little ones!
Astrid bit her lip, eyeing the entrance to her den. It was almost that one day time, as Kai had mentioned. Surely he’d be here soon. She had to give him an answer.
She knew what that was. Her mother seemed happy about it too. Kai was a good guy.
Raising to her feet, she moved to the entrance of the family den, watching for the shadow of the male to come across the rocky ledge.
It felt like time had taken forever.. He had waited for that full day to pass, and it had taken him so much restraint not to go seek her out early. But now it was time, and his heart was in his throat. What if she declined? Well.. he knew what that meant. Declining meant that he would leave her be, much unlike was probably expected of him.
The stones of the cliff that lead to the dens were cold on his paws, and he moved up them with a bounce in his step. He had asked his mother about how he should look, and she had helped him primp, He was confident that he looked good, and that she would say yes.. Okay so the last was mostly just wishful thinking.
"Astrid?" He called as he got closer. He didn't want to just bust in unannounced.

The approaching footsteps caught Astrid’s attention first, before the melodic voice followed. With one last glance inside her home den, she exited, planning on meeting Kaitrus just outside.
She walked out slowly, her eyes gazing ahead to the approaching male.
“Kaitrus~” she hummed, bobbing her head in a quick greeting. “Not straying away from your words…” she was hesitant. The words in her mind from her mother still on replay. She knew the answer to the unsaid question, but she was worried what would come out once it was said.
She started approaching him, and he stalled his steps to let her get closer. He knew she shared her den with her mother, and from the gossip in the pride.. Her mother had just given birth to a large litter of cubs. Last thing he needed was to be a strange male entering the den of a lioness with cubs..
"There you are." He said softly, a smile forming on his features. He could tell she was nervous, her voice was fast and she was straight to the point. He liked that about her, her nerves made her even cuter.
"Have you now?" He asked, his voice a sing song like tone.

The lioness gave a quick nod.
“My mother has told me a lot. She is…happy about this.” If her mother was happy, then Astrid was happy. The only thing was she wanted to make sure while her mother was still raising the cubs in their young state, she would be there to assist.
“And if she is happy, then I am happy too.” She explained to the male the thoughts that were going through her head. “This means…I leave…now?” She asked, gazing back to the den that was her home for so long.
She was very straight forward, and he a smile creapt back over his features. She was very smart, this mother of hers. He nodded his head, listening to the rest of her words.
"I'm so thrilled to hear you say that, Astrid. Really, I am." He said, and a relieved laugh left his maw. "Though I can promise your happiness, and not just because your mother is happy."
He shook his head at her last question, chuckling a little. "No, no. Stay with your mother, I'm sure she needs you. Cubs are a big task." Besides if she was going to mother his own cubs, she was going to need to know how. This was perfect experience for her, and he wasn't about to pull her from her mother.
"We can set the wedding in the next few weeks. Then after our wedding, you can move in with me. I have a good den." He assured. "It's big, and I live on my own. You'll have your own space...Though I hope you won't need it." He said with a genuine smile that didn't expose his teeth

She let out a sigh of relief. When had she been holding in her breath?
Astrid was happy to stay with her mother, but the description of his den caught her interest. A big den? “Can I come see it sometime?” She asked, curious just how other lions of the pride lived. How big did some dens become? The one she shared was nice and cozy, becoming just a tad cramped with the seven new bodies sharing it.
“I’d love to see it.” She finished, flashing the male a pearly smile. As she spoke with Kaitrus, she was becoming more comfortable around the male.
He leaned over, whispering into her ear the location of his den. Then pulling back, he nodded to her. "Come anytime you want. You can even spend the night, should you see the need." He said, and winked at her with a little laugh. He wasn't usually a sex machine, but he just couldn't resist the idea of having his soon to be bride.
"Anytime you wish, you can seek me out. Though I imagine I'll be seeking you out just as diligently." He chuckled again.

Astrid nodded dumbly when the location was whispered into her ear. She didn’t know the pride whereabouts, as she stayed within a certain area for ease. She’d asked Alehandra later, when the new mother wasn’t busy with the seven newborns.
She didn’t reply to the sleeping over comment. Not that her mind would go to /that/ certain lifestyle just yet.
Nodding once more, Astrid flashed a quick smile, hearing the small cries of the cubs in side. “I should get back inside now,” the lioness stated to the male. “Don’t want any upset cubs~” She hesistated, unsure if she should give a gesture of kindness to the male. She reached out, giving a brief nuzzle to his mane, before retreating back into the den.
He smiled when she nodded, nodding himself as if they had an agreement. It hadn't even occurred to him that she might not know where his den was located. So he didn't even bother to ask.
The sounds of the cubs inside made him pang for some of his own. He was still a young lion by many rights..Okay by most rights. He nodded again. "Yes, I imagine upset cubs might be a handful. Your poor mother." He commented, before nuzzling her in return, and turning to leave. He always hated leaving her..But cubs were far more important than his desire for company.
