 I can't lose again. Kuzia paced back and forth, a concentrated look on his face. He had already lost his joining duel twice and still felt the shame from both fights. He thought he was strong, but this pride seemed to be even stronger. He had left and traveled the Roguelands, training in any way he could. Luckily, he had found another pride member willing to duel him- he had half expected everyone to laugh at him when he returned and refuse him the chance.
He looked Chaka'nondo up and down, his heart racing. He'd give it his all; hopefully it'd be enough.

Yet another one... Another rogue come to join the pride. Chaka paced back and forth in the sands as golden eyes strayed across his opponent, a low growl sounding from his throat. The steady flow of them never seemed to end. But a fight was a fight and he did not pass up that chance. Even if a loss could mean another rogue slipped into their ranks. He may not particularly like it but this was sadly the way of things now and he'd learned to deal with it... Perhaps not pleasantly but at least not violently.
He finally stalled his steps in the sands, taking up a more defensible position as he faces his opponent, offering an unsettling smirk. " Tradition dictates the first move is yours, outsider... " He called out cockily.
That said, the lowered himself to the sand, tail swaying, ready for battle.

The dark red lion lunged at his opponent, a growl escaping his jaws. It was his time to prove himself where he couldn't before. His claws extended towards his opponent, though he mistimed and couldn't get the strength behind it that he needed to land a formidable blow.

A predictable attack, hardly a scratch. The newcomer had much to learn still about fighting in the sands. He circled his opponent swiftly, testing the waters so to speak as he made a swipe for the other side. Perhaps all was not lost, the other male knew when to pull back. He'd met less sensible lions... Drawing back from striking distance he prepared for another attack, this time lunging straight for Kuzia with a snarl, tumbling them bother further into the territory.
A glancing blow.
No matter. This would be fun.

Breathing hard, Kuzia looked at his opponent. Finally. He gave a respectful bow and stepped off to the side, pride welling in his chest. He had done it- though his opponent had been a formidable one, Kuzia's training had proved useful.
"You fought well. It was an honor." His eyes met Chaka's and he gave a small nod.
He was ready to finally have a place inside of the pride.
