User ImageIt was by pure happenstance that Ottir happened across his brother, Rorik. The younger brother was salaciously leaning against two pretty freeborn ladies - and Ottir assumed they were freeborn because of the way they flirted and pressed themselves against Rorik. If they'd been thralls, they'd not be so willing to give themselves to a Reaver, of that Ottir was certain.

He stood at a distance and watched his brother before finally moving forward to interrupt.

"Rorik."

Ottir cleared his throat.

"Have you a moment?"

Ottir lifted his brows and gave a pointed glance to the females that bracketed Rorik.

User ImageRorik was planning on getting laid until he couldn't walk anymore. The moment he'd returned home, he'd started in on the mint, the berries, and the women. There hadn't been this many beautiful ladies in the pride when he'd left this time last year, of that he was certain. He'd already spent a few hours with a few freeborn females, a thrall, and now these two sisters who were in awe of his impressive physique.

It would only stand to reason that his brother would decide to find him.

"Can it wait, brother? This is.. ah, what's your name again, sweetheart?"

"Alna."

"This is Alna, and her sister Hilga."

"Hildee."

"Right, Hildee. Sorry, darlin'. Girls, this here is my brother Ottir, and I get the feeling whatever he has to say can't wait. You ladies head on back to my den and I'll catch up with you in a few."

User ImageOttir waited patiently for the females to clear out, and he gave them both polite smiles as they left. Once he was alone with Rorik, he gave his little brother something that probably could have passed as disapproving. Almost, anyway. Ever since he was able, Rorik had always had a way with the ladies, and Ottir had a sort of resigned admiration for his youngest sibling.

"I didn't know you had a den, brother. Where is it?"

Ottir was genuinely curious. It was important for him to know where his family was living.

"And I'm.. sorry to interrupt. A little, anyway."

User ImageRorik grunted and flopped back in the dirt. He wasn't mad at Ottir. Family came first. It had always been that way.

"I've got a place near Katta's den. Not too close, but near it." He shrugged and gave Ottir a bleary smile.

"You're doing that thing you do, aren't you? Checking in on everyone? What order you going in this time? Oldest to youngest? Am I the last one? Or boys first?"

Rorik chuckled.

"Don't apologize. I'm not sure that I was going to be able to take care of business anyway. I haven't slept since day before yesterday."

Quote:
User ImageOttir wasn't sure when he'd become so predictable, but it was fine. He really didn't mind. It was almost reassuring to know that his family had been expecting him to come by and check in on them.

"I've been to see Draugr. Kattakyn is next."

He sounded a little sheepish, but only a little. He would never apologize for looking after those he cared about.

"You're going to die young if you keep this up," he joked softly, only a little serious. "You have plans on settling down? At the very least, do you have plans to sleep anytime soon?"

Quote:
User ImageSettling down? Rorik let out a soft snort, and let that suffice as his answer.

"I'm not going to meet up with those ladies if that's what you're asking. I'm going to go crash at your place until nightfall, and hopefully they'll have gone home."

He gave Ottir an impish look before rising to his feet and shaking the dust from his fur.

"Something's on your mind, Ottir. I can tell. What is it?"

Ottir always grew a little more concerned than usual when something was troubling him, and Rorik was too tired to beat around the bush. Besides, the best answers came when you were direct in asking exactly what you wanted to know.

User ImageOttir had promised Draugr he wouldn't say anything to Rorik and Kattakyn, but deep down he knew that Draugr realized it was a secret that he couldn't keep. It was good news as far as Ottir was concerned, and after a moment's silence, Ottir cleared his throat.

"Draugr is thinking of becoming a Captain."

There was a smile in his voice, a sort of pride that echoed in the rich timbre of his voice.

"I promised I wouldn't tell, but there you have it. I'm telling Katta next. I think it will give her some kind of relief."

Ottir chuckled softly.

Quote:
User Image"Hah!"

Rorik's laugh was one of victory, even though he'd done nothing to feel victorious about.

"It's about time that fool has decided to do something. I tell you, brother, he must know that we'd all follow him to our deaths if that's what he asked of us. We would all gladly take that leap for our brother. And yes, Katta is going to feel great excitement. I know she had worried about finding a band that would take female reavers, though I told her not to. You know how our sister is."

Rorik suddenly let out a jaw-cracking yawn.

"You go tell her the good news. I'm going to your den to sleep."

Quote:
User ImageOttir let out a low laugh while shaking his head. Rorik had always been the most dashing of the four of them, and no matter where they went, he'd never wanted for female companionship - unless, of course, there had been no females about.

"Fine, fine, so long as you go to my den alone - and remain alone. If I come home and you've got a female in there, I'll give you a sound thumping."

Ottir grinned.

"You can sleep until I return, and then we'll practice on the sands. It's been far too long since we've gotten any sparring practice in."

Quote:
User ImageRorik nodded and yawned again before turning away from his brother with a smile on his face. It was good to be home. He'd missed the pride, the fights, the spars, the activity. The outpost had been too still, too quiet, too boring. The pride was far more entertaining and energetic, but the reasons they'd taken up duties at the outpost were solid.

They were and always had been a tight-knit group, after all. Where one went, the others were sure to follow.

"Tell Katta I'm going to beat her a** on the sands. Bring her with you. She's been itching to spar."

That being said, Rorik ambled off towards Ottir's den.
