[PRP]Unexpected Encounter [Heiko x Lokesh]

There hadn't been another to talk to for quite awhile. There had been prey around, sure. But he didn't enjoy talking to his meal before consuming it. Doing that would only harbor some sort of feeling towards the animal. Feelings begot hesitation. Hesitation begot the prey running away. He couldn't have that.

So, he killed without really thinking about it. It didn't bother him any. There were no hurt feelings. It was the survival of the fittest, as far as he was concerned. Eat or be eaten. Where they went afterwards, he didn't have a clue, nor did he want to think about it. He was no religious male. It brought too many questions that were no answers to. Lokesh already had enough to think about. What the world meant was not top priority.

Therefore, when saw a young leopard slumped on the ground, he was quite surprised. There hadn't been another for quite awhile. Not knowing if he was sleeping or if he was dead, the lion inched forward, slowly, not wanting to disturb the other if he was sleeping. He could wait for the other to awaken.

However; he soon began concerned as he was one step away from the male. Still, he had not moved an inch. Lokesh stared hard, and let out a sigh of relief when the other's chest moved. Good, so he was alive/. Perhaps a deep sleeper. But, the more he thought about it, the more he thought it best to wake the other. The land was flat, but being such a deep sleeper could be terrible if another violent male happens to stumble upon him.

He couldn't just leave him there.

Mind made up, Lokesh gently pawed the other male's shoulder, alert and keeping as much distance as he could. There was no telling what this leopard was like, or if he'd attack him. Lokesh would prefer not to be hurt.

Heiko knew water in the rogue lands was scarce and far in between, but really hadn’t considered the fact that he wouldn’t be able to find any. The sun beating down on him, exhaustion soon overcame his thirst. He wanted to sleep, to sleep just a few minutes. And so, he succumbed, slumping down where he was standing to sleep. Just a few minutes, he promised himself. Just a few more minutes and then he’ll continue his search. Surely nothing would happen if he rested for just those minutes. He was safe, no one was nearby, and once he awoke, he’ll continue to look.

Soon, he was deep asleep, stilling, feeling more serene than he ever felt before.

It wasn’t until he felt himself being nudged awake did he wrinkle his nose, attempting to hang onto sleep. Letting out a growl, he rolled over weakly, trying to shove the paw away. Opening a coral eye, he peered up at the stranger who nudged him awake. He was dreaming. Or hallucinating. It couldn’t possibly be the lion who inspired him to travel, not possible at all. However, he couldn’t fight the goofy grin as he shook his head, braid swinging before settling across his face. ”Wha ‘ou doin’ ‘ere,” he mumbled, nearly incoherently.

The sleep-addled growl made his fur stand on end. Lokesh backed up a step, wide lilac coloured eyes afraid of what may come. However; all the leopard did was roll over and wrinkle his nose, in only what he could assume was distaste. And the lion was more than happy to appease the other and leave him alone, if that's what he wanted. It was risky for the male to be alone here, but...his gaze flicked to their surroundings. There were places to go, others to see, and he didn't even know the slumbering leopard. All he was trying to be was to lend a helping hand. That was all.

So the lion backed up a few paces, watching the leopard warily. And, the more he watched the other awaken, he was aware that the other was slightly familiar. But that couldn't be right--he usually remembered who he met. But, sure enough, that voice sounded offly familiar. Older, sure. But he was aware that he had heard it elsewhere. Where, he couldn't say.

But the air of familiarity made him comfortable, relaxing and stepping closer to the other male, welcomed by the grin that the other sported. He gave a bemused smile towards the other, one brow furrowed, the other raised. he could hardly understand what he was saying. Was he alright? "I'm traveling. Yourself?" he eyed their surroundings carefully, before looking back at the leopard, concern clearly shone in his eyes. "It's not safe to be sleeping here, you know."

Heiko’s throat felt like the drought, he was sure. It was dry and parched, nearly sore. Licking his chops to try and somehow trigger moisture, he plopped his head back down. He still wanted to sleep. ”’ookin’ for ‘ater,” he informed him, eyes drifting close.

The continued talking had his ears twitching and, slowly, Heiko rolled his head to look up at him again, frown dancing across his expression. ”’Nothin’ sss gonna ‘urt me,” he grinned before rolling over, now facing the other, and resting his head on the other’s paw. He felt no danger in that; this was the lion he admired most of all! Closing his eyes, an idiotic grin gracing his face, he once again tried to fetch a few z’s.

A furry brow rose. Looking for water? Then why was he still on the ground? "You aren't going to find any water here." he proclaimed, a tint of concern ebbing it's way into his voice. His large brown paw gently pushed at the leopard as those coral eyes drifted closed. Sleeping would get him nowhere, and he was quite afraid that if the other fell asleep, he wouldn't be able to awaken again, telling from his dry voice. "Don't go to sleep, please." He hadn't the faintest clue of what to do with the male's body if he did. And he wasn't going to let the male die on his watch.

There came a long exasperated sigh from Lokesh's lips, and he furrowed his brow. This one was impossible to work with, it seemed. He wasn't even aware of the dangers that lands could hold. "There are plenty of animals that may try to hurt you. Other rogues, traveling prides, other predators---starving animals. Let me help you get to a watering hole," he urged, nosing the male's shoulder. "I know of one not too far from here, where I just came." And he was rather thankful that he did. He wouldn't know how to get the other water any other way. And the leopard looked light enough to carry, judging by his frame. "I'll even carry you on my back, if you want." He could make it...hopefully.

Heiko ignored the comment; of course he knew that! Otherwise, he would have found it. And, eventually, he’ll get up to look for it. But after a brief nap. But geez, did his throat ache. His eyes drifted close but pried open at the request. ”Why?” he mumbled, slightly whining, But he listened to the request, choosing to stare blankly at the lion.

The rogue leopard pulled a grin at the statement, trying to hum out of habit but ended up letting out a wheeze. Once he recovered, he decided to not do that again. ”I’m sure I taste horrible,” he jested, before studying him, considering his offer. There was water nearby? And he’d be carried? Another grin was pulled and, taking the initiative, he struggled to get his feet under him. Sure, he’d take that offer any day.

"Why?" he echoed, quite baffled that the leopard would ask such a question. Wasn't it obvious why he couldn't sleep here? Was the male that daft and naive? It was common sense, at least to him. "Because it's dangerous. Not every animal has good intentions. Some don't like leopards, either." Lokesh felt bad, but really, he couldn't leave him here of all places to sleep.

Concerned at the wheeze; the rogue lion shifted closer towards Heiko, nosing his shoulder in an attempt to encourage him to get up. He really didn't sound good. Water. Water was what he wanted, and Lokesh was more than willing to assist the leopard to where water was. "You should stop talking---it's not helping your throat any." he drawled, nipping at the other's shoulder.

Lokesh was unable to resist the chuckle that passed through his maw, and shook his head, slightly exasperated. "I'm sure you don't, but other's may not feel the same way." And not all would want to eat the leopard. Some had more fun killing than eating. He wasn't one to typically judge, however; he still couldn't leave this leopard alone. Who knows what trouble he'd get into.

'Once we get some water, you can rest all you want." he huffed out, attempting to get Heiko on his back. The leopard wasn't really heavy, however; it sure was cumbersome trying to get the other onto his back.

”Do you have good intentions?” he murmured weakly, eyes drooping a bit. He wanted to sleep. Couldn’t the lion go away? But he got up anyways, the nudge on his shoulder a mild annoyance that he quickly swept away. ”My throat is just fine, thank you.” He responded, not rudely but almost a bit playfully. Despite his protests, however, Heiko fell silent, swaying on his feet. Eventually, Heiko ended up leaning against the line, face pressed into his shoulder. ”You mean, other’s may find me tasty?” he murmured into the other’s fur, not helpful with the lion’s attempt to carry him.

Once Heiko was halfway on top of the other, he stopped trying completely. Going limp, he buried his muzzle in the other’s mane, idly wondering why lions have the scruff. He grinned. ”Do you know where the water is?” he hummed, voice muffled and raspy. Adjusting slightly to where he didn’t fall off, legs sprawled on either side, Heiko closed his eyes. ”mm gonna nap…” he informed the other unclearly, breathing in the musk of the other. Sleep. Sleep is what he needed. No, water. But sleep was more pressing. He’ll feel better afterwards. Just a few minutes. And when he woke, there will be water. Maybe.
