Vittorio inhaled deeply, and tried to shake out the tension in his shoulders. It was clear to him that the longer he stayed in the Myrsky Syntynyt that he was an odd man out. Muscular, but slender, with a fair coat and a full silken mane. He could fight, and his ego said it was pretty damn impressive. Would that be enough to win, though?

Pfft, of course it would! Vittorio shook it out. He just had to believe in his victory and it would happen. The Gods of his youth would see to it. There was no way he could go back to Mirashi having failed. In truth, he feared the wrath of the female he loved more than any burly Reaver.

Though he had to pale at the thought. The word Reaver just sounded intimidating enough. Such pride would have poured from Vittorio if he had been he bearer of that title, but from the other end? He was apprehensive, at best.

User ImageSjurd was troubled. But that wasn't too unusual, nowadays. It was a period of change and things like that never went calmly. The reaver fought to urge to head to the rogue lands to viking; something in his gut told him that such actions would just perpetuate the sick feeling in the pit of him.

Instead, the broad lion walked the borders, brown eyes narrowed and pressed for any unfamiliar forms. Reavers returning, trespassers, challengers. Challengers. An askorun would do him some good. And it was just his luck...

The pale lion was easily spotted from a short distance and Sjurd raised his head. His shoulders squared as he moved closer before calling out a bold and gruff, "Halt!" He neared and looked the lion over. The reaver's eyes narrowed and he let loose a slow breath. "Do you seek a challenge?"

Vittorio watched the others moving about in various states of movement. So far he had not been able to catch the eye of a lion, but then he hadn't been as close as he was now. He felt his spine stiffen, and bright blue eyes turned to see a lion who reminded Vittorio of waves breaking on rocks.

Standing as straight as he could, Vittorio held his head high and proud. "If you think you can give me one." Cocky, but he was ready. Vittorio lowered himself into a fighting stance, waiting with baited breath to see how this would play out.

Sjurd tilted his head to the side as he considered the newcomer. A half-cocked smile perked his features at the lion's comment and the reaver gave a dry laugh. "I think I can accommodate you, there." His weight set into his paws as he readied himself. Sjurd's brow wrinkled and his ears pinned as he looked his opponent over.

Best not keep the outlander waiting.

The reaver lunged forward quickly, putting all his weight and speed into his first strike. His paws were outstretched in his lunge, but his claws remained sheathed. He was there to test the outlander, not maim him.

Vittorio gave a lopsided grin that ended on a seriously concerned expression. For as much as he was eager to be in the midst of battle he knew just how horrible this could turn. Hopefully he wouldn't come away with serious scarring, and well, at least scars Mirashi wouldn't find attractive.

The outlander moved fast in his strike, going head long towards the reaver. He took the hit, and the risks involved, but not before he loosed his own paws, ready to topple the male over. Years of fighting on sand and shifting earth gave him speed on solid land, though he worked hard to channel it.

The lion's speed came as much a surprise as his strike straight into Sjurds' own. The reaver's strike found its mark, but left the lion incapable of moving out of the way fast enough and met the toppling force head on. A snarl left his maw. It was an instinctual sound that he had little control over, but that left him as a rough and raw noise.

Sjurd did his best to try to roll his weight to take advantage of the situation, throwing his paws forward with his body trying to not be pinned.

Vittorio struggled with the other, trying his best to meet him twist for turn. It was hard enough trying to pin down prey, let alone an experienced fighter. He felt an ache where he'd been hit, but it didn't stop him. Vittorio needed this too bad to stop now!

He snarled. If he couldn't pin the other he would have to incapacitate him. Lunging his head into the frey, Vittorio tried to go in for a bite at the shoulder; close enough to the neck to the noticed, but far enough away so as not to seriously harm him.
