Herds die, kin die, We ourselves die also
But I know things that never die, The glory of all the dead
Days die, lands die, We ourselves die also
But I know things that never die, The eternal Tra Ord Omak
[Battle Song adapted from a Norse chant]
![User Image](https://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae153/Rokopelli/Minis/muunomini_zps224b5069.png) ![User Image](https://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae153/Rokopelli/Familiars/ff45f243-ff93-4a8e-bb3d-5a360c30ab5e_zpscc2820cc.png)
Introduction When the horde were on a glory hunt, the world would know about it. The battle chants and pounding paws had stirred the ground to dust and filled the sky with the echoes of their voices, high and low ranks alike. Excitement thrummed like music between them and why should it not? Most of those marching today had never been involved in such a hunt before and it might be a while before they would again. Today, careers could be made or unmade, and the Warlords would lead them to that future. Muunokhoi, at the head of the horde as was his duty as Warlord of the Blood Guard, did not need to look back to know that the Nergui were fired up and ready - even after two hours of steady marching and an empty sky. If any doubted that they would find their target, they were few in number indeed. After all, the seers had spoken. They knew the glory that awaited them. Their path was true and all they waiting on now was word from the ravens playing the part of scouts to direct their path. And out on the horizon, a single dark speck manifested itself against the blue.

Daud'r was...she was READY. Too long she'd gone without a purpose. Without any way to vent and spend the anger and frustration that coiled in the pit of her gut like a nest of snakes. At last she felt sure her claws would find something to tear and shred. She was not a 'bad' creature, no, but the blood was up in her. It had been since she heard the first whisperings of a hunt. A proper hunt, at that. For the only kind of worthy prey. And then the war chants had begun, and already the green lioness knew that if she did not slake her boiling blood that she would not be able to rest.
Glory lay ahead, and Muunokhoi would take them to it. Glory, battle, and victory for the pride. For the Tra Ord Omak.
![User Image](https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/v88/Reddragonwings/My Pets/Certs/Vali.png)
Valiona (though to any who saw her she was Doxailol) slid through the marching swarm like a shadow, or oil on water. She did not chant with the rest, though her grin was feral and her teeth bright; she stayed with no one group but went out among them all, only returning now and then to the few other Kaar who had chosen to come test their claws as well as their visions. She herself had had none of the upcoming battle (if there was to be one, they seemed terribly cocksure...) but it mattered not. The massive lioness had her own reasons for wanting to see the battle.

Soon the speck had become a huge black raven, clacking his beak as he descended, landing amongst clouds of swirling dust. Muunokhoi came to a halt, the ugly female beside him following suit. And just like that, at the arrival of the three-eyed raven, the horde came to an abrupt halt.
All around them the chants began to fade into silence and the raven, bobbing with amusement, met the lion’s partially covered face and said:
“Kulukadok.”
“How close?” He asked in his rough tongue.
“Close,” the raven mirrored, tipping his head back and shrieking; “Kulukadok, Kulukadok, Kulukadok!!.”
Muunokhoi, remembering himself, turned back to his people.
“It is time to put our plan into action. We will divide our forces here, some of you with me, the rest of you continue on this set path.”
-----
exclaim Random Event – for everyone
In your next post generate a number between 1 and 2.
Rolling a;
1 – You follow Muunokhoi as part of the flanking team; 2 – You continue on your path to meet the kulukadok head on.
You may do a combined roll for all your characters or roll for each one individually.
-----
[The General Plan]
The group will divide into two parties, with the team led by Muunokhoi rounding up behind the goddess whilst she is distracted. The other team will continue on their path and attempt to speak with the goddess to lure her into false sense of security and giving Muunokhoi’s team time to move into position.
-----
>>in the (hopefully unlikely event) that everyone rolls a 1, Muunokhoi may harass some Nergui/rogues to stay behind to join group 2.

Daudr was NOT being left behind. No way. She wanted to SEE this 'god'. There were so many of them not everyone was going to get in a hit, and some maybe not even a peek. Not her, oh no. She'd come too far, fallen too deep down the rabbit hole. She'd see this pretender. Then even if she didn't get to help bring it down she could say she'd been there, seen it happen. She stalked to the side that would lead the attack, determined and ready to march.
Doxailol wanted to see as well. Oh yes, she wanted to see everything. Her visions didn't always show what was coming, and for once she was left with a little blind spot. Just how would they approach the god? Which god would it be? For one thrill of a moment she wondered if it might be her own father. If so it would be a bloodbath. But she though, she hoped it would not be. She wanted to see this pride kill a god. And so she too went along with the attacking group, ears perked and eyes wide, the picture of interested willingness.

Los was excited. During his time in the Nergui, they had yet to actually hunt a god. There had been lots of opportunities for him to show his strength and prowess, though, with the torture of the slaves and listening to those in charge without question. He was very good at his role, but as with most Nergui, the desire to bring down a god was strong in him. Most of his children made up the Nohoi and for that he was proud as well, having raised them all in the proper mindset of the pride. He knew they would bring great glory to the pride and to the leaders.
The arriving raven caught his interest, and when they were told to split up, he joined the ranks that were to follow Muunokhoi. He didn't want to be a distraction, he wanted to be a part of the force that would make the inital attack. He saw his son heading for the Warlord as well, and he grinned. He had trained him well. Glancing over his shoulder to his younger daughter, he watched as she deliberated.
Krieg was excited as well, learning and joining in the songs of her people. She had been born here to a hyena who had bartered with the Nergui for her freedom, and she could have been more happy that the coward had left. Her father and siblings were all that mattered to her, although she did inherit her mother's cunning. That, combined with her father's lust for blood made her an intimidating hyena, even though she was still growing. Her desire to prove herself was as strong as any full grown lion, and she knew her father wanted her to get a taste for god flesh as soon as she could. This was her chance.
As the call to split up came, she watched her father and half-brother move to the side that would attack. It seemed all of them wanted to partake in the glory of the fight, but she knew this plan wouldn't work without someone to be a distraction. She also knew she was still not as strong or fast as the other members and, not wanting to slow them down, remained where she was. She would go along to distract the god: while her body was still growing, her mind was quick and her tongue was sharp. Insulting and distracting their target was just as intriguing to her as sinking her teeth into it.

((Note: Roll doesn't count for Gable for plot reasons with permission from Kim.))
Gable was mute, still, and stiff as the decrepit tree he tarried beneath, observing, listening. They gathered, they chanted, and they prompted him into motion only after they'd started their march. He alternated between the outskirts of the horde and near the back. This herding was not uncommon for the Muvukol, as crowd control was part of his daily routine. Chances were no one was paying him mind enough to notice his unease — or if they were, perhaps they didn't know him well enough to recognize what a truly tetchy Gable looked like compared to his usual disposition.
Gever was not in his good graces at present, so when he'd come to him with a story of his new kaar pet having visions of battles and blood, Gable warned him, "If you're wrong, I'll beat you again. I'll beat her first."
He'd gone to Rapha with it. After she had spoken to Gever directly, she'd told him of her suspicions: That this hunt was not ordered by Groas Oma, but by someone tampering with ranks in the larger, presently absent faction of their horde. Still, these were the commands they'd been given, so Gable heeded them.
In the present, he looked askance at Gever and nodded for him to follow the flank. The foreboding wails of the ravens had his heart pounding and his extension of disbelief officially giving their new kaar the benefit of the doubt. "Go," he ordered.
Gable approached Muunokhoi with a bow of his head, posture that spoke of his own authority, and a tone with veiled concern the Warlord likely neglected to notice. "There's no need to die today, when glory will await you just as eagerly tomorrow," was all he said, staring ahead of them.
Meanwhile, Gever had begrudingly done as he'd been told and followed the flanking team. To say he was on high alert was a vast understatement of his current mood.

Results of the rolls:
Attack team Muunokhoi Tesak Daud’r Doxailol Godlum Furchtlos Gable Gever
The intercept team Gren Kriegerisch
exclaim To anyone joining in after this post, you may assume your character followed Muunokhoi in the attack team.
----------
As the Nergui gathered into their chosen groups, the three-eyed raven took to the sky again, circling once overhead before moving back towards the dark cloud of his kin. They could not have had a clearer target to head for than that dark mass of wings.
With a snort, Muunokhoi turned to regard the ugly female, Gren, and the young nohoi Kriegerisch. “We do not know the kulukadok’s element. It may be coerced into talking or it may attack. No matter what happens, keep its eyes from us. If you die today, you will be honoured in the glory of our battle chants for all the years that follow.”
And that was all he said before he turned and moved away, circling wide. He spared only a single glance for Gable, noting his words but not reacting to them.
Gren, with a grimace, turned to the young nohoi and asked in the garbled language of their kind: “how is your common tongue?”
----------
The Plan [in brief]
The ravens will press their attack, swarming the goddess and preventing her from taking off, giving time for the intercept team to come to the rescue and keep the target distracted whilst the rest of the Nergui forces move into position.
During the clash, a number of dice-rolling events will determine character actions/positions in the battle.
Please note that your character might be subject to injury during the battle. However, the severity of any wounds received will be left to you to decide and no character will be fatally wounded (unless, of course, you request it).
The next dice-roll event will be in my subsequent post. Until then, your characters may move slowly towards the target and are permitted to talk in lowered voices (the ravens are making so much noise the goddess will not be able to hear them at this distance).
----------
SilverLutz (I will post her image later, but Gren is a large, brutish, marsh-green coloured lioness with a severe under bite.)

Los wasn't disappointed that Krieg had chosen to stick to the path they were on. In fact, he was very proud of her. The majority of the group had gone to the side he had chosen, and without a few willing Nergui staying put, this plan wouldn't be put into action. He knew his daughter was far more cunning than he, who preferred to use brute strength and intimidation to see the job through.
With a little nod he trotted over to join Tesak, one of the now-grown pups he had brought back from a fling with another hyena. He had raised both litters well, but this first one was strong and full-grown now. He smirked a bit as he swatted his son with his tail once they began to walk. "Our first god-hunt...quite exciting, isn't it?' he asked, keeping his voice low.
Krieg flicked her own tail as the rest of the members shifted to follow Muunokhoi, a soft snort leaving her. Of course they all wanted the glory of the fight. She was secretly glad for being the only one to stay on with Gren, and when Muunokhoi promised eternal glory through song should she fall, she knew she had picked the right side.
As Gren turned to her, her ears flicked forward and she turned as well to face the lioness. "Fairly good," she said in turn, sticking to their dialect. Thankfully her father was bilingual and, although she had only spoken the language of the Nergui as a pup, he had taught her his native tongue as she grew. It was important to learn, as many of their slaves and joining members only spoke common. Being unable to communicate with outsiders was dangerous and counter productive. "Nearly fluent, at any rate."
