Does Gaara die?

I just saw this clip were Naruto, Rock Lee, and Gaara were fighting this guy who manipulated his bones and at the end it showed Gaara getting attacked. There were bone spikes every were and the guy came from no were with a huge spike as an arm and i guess (didn't show it) impaled Gaara in the eye. Can some onw help me out?

He dies, but gets resurrected... and I dont' think that's how Gaara dies. Gaara gets captured by the Akatsuki and then they extract Shukaki from him and then Gaara dies... 3nodding
