About the family
 Dad: Amenemsou is self reliant, persistent, and yet codependent at the same time, meaning while he can manage the world on his own, he is better off with someone to lean on. His singular favorite past time is to make others laugh, but not just anyone, especially his cubs. And as he doesn't thrive off of acceptance, he has no problem persisting until he gets what he wants. His downfall could easily be his devotion, as he has problems realizing when something is a lost cause. Often times this allows the other party to forget their grudge with the world and him time to slip right past their walls.
He will give these cubs endless love and as much joy and laughter as they can handle. But he is no push over! Amen can be very tough on these cubs when he needs to be. (Conrad)
 Mom: Hal-shikasta is bitter, surly, and wants the world to know that she hates it and everyone in it. She was born into the Jini-misemi in the days of the murderer, Mysmyr. Her mother was killed in the den before Shika and her siblings had even opened their eyes, and grief drove her father mad before he, too, was murdered; she never knew either of them - she and her siblings were raised by her aunt alongside her cousins. Her family are the only ones she has any tolerance - let alone affection - for. When she learned the truth about her parents, suffice to say she...did not take it well. The knowledge has made her angry with the world, and more specifically, at the lions who were in charge at the time - she has a deep-seated hatred towards Narindima'moyo and Piliroho kwa Kwini, and a somewhat tamer contempt for the rest of the royal family.
And yet she chose to return from her pilgrimage anyway, and remains with the pride despite her oft-professed preference for being alone. While she pushes everyone away and refuses to trust anyone, she is also terrified of being completely alone. She interacts with others when she has to, but mostly sticks to the fringes of the pride's territory. Immediately prior to the fire, she argued and very nearly came to blows with Piliroho; afterwards, she received an ultimatum that if she didn't start behaving, she would be exiled. She remains as prickly and unpleasant as ever, but is generally less aggressive than she used to be.
Despite all that, Amen has managed to work his way under her skin and get to the slightly less disagreeable lioness underneath. She is occasionally still snappish to him, but has become less so over time, and even her insults are usually laced with affection. It's less self-defense now and more of a game. I would like to stress that, while she may be gruff and grumpy and sometimes get claustrophobic and slink off for some alone time, she will never be in any way abusive towards her cubs. While not the most natural or affectionate mother, she will love them, and she will try to do well by them. ...as well as impress upon them some of her distrust of the rest of the world and everyone in it, for their own good.  Tiger stripe twin 1: Azaf (double) is an odd cub, best described as indifferent. He has landed solidly in the middle of his parents' disparate personalities, and as a result doesn't seem to have much of a personality at all. He is calm, neutral, incredibly difficult to ruffle or to rouse to any kind of action at all. To all appearances, he doesn't really care about much of anything, and will likely be dismissed by most who meet him as boring or even lazy. He just can't be bothered. He is gruffly tolerant of his siblings, but would rather be a lump-on-a-log observer of his family than participate in what's going on...but if any of them ever do genuinely need him, he'll be there for them, although he might complain about it later.  Tiger stripe Purp: Kush is larger than most of her siblings and her personality is not short to disappoint. She prefers to hang around her mother whenever she can, imitating the way her mother interacts with the world. Although she's not as witty, she has a natural nack for getting what she wants from others. Sometimes she can be a bit of a bully, but if you're going to break, you might as well stay clear. (Conrad)
 Yin: nonameyet Quiet and shy with a dry sense of humor, he can seem quite dull or plain. The only skill he has to fend off his bigger and tougher siblings in his never ending love and patience. Have you ever tried to insult someone that doesn't get offended and instead just purrs at you? He'll wrestle, play fight, and compete with other cubs, but as soon as it gets to intense, he'll forfeit and walk away. He'll be very codependent on his black opposite twin. (Conrad)

 Tan and teal tiger stripe: Lior A spitfire she has no filter and says the first thing that rolls off her tongue, especially if it hurts feelings in the process. She’ll grow to be sort of mean spirited youth with a “stay away from me and nobody gets hurt” attitude towards the world. However, her biggest “downfall” if you could call it this is that she will suffer from the fact that although she might act mean she wants to be a liked person. She’ll snarl and bicker but at the end of the day if someone has expressed they dislike, even hate her the thought will remain buried in her mind. She might even become compelled to make them like her and will do small, notable acts in order to improve her social standing. She’s someone who could be easily betrayed due to her often conflicting mental state. (CaliWolfe)
 White mane: Farza Even though she is very devoted to her mother, her father and siblings do come close to her heart . Not only is she possessive of them, but she's also very protective. No matter who it may be or how perilous it may seem, Farza has no hesitation going toe to toe with a hoard of gods or spirits if that means keeping her family, especially her mother, safe. And is a bit rash with her decisions as a cub, quick to judge and think through her actions later. With time she may mellow out in this regard. The punishments, when there are any, are worth the hassle to her. (bullterrierlove) |

Cub Name and Meaning: Kioo | mirror
Adult Name and Meaning: Hamaki | temper
Personality: Kioo is a ball of energy, simply put. She seems to always be in motion and if she's not, you can bet she's cooking up a way to cause trouble. She loves to be the center of attention and, despite her mother's teachings, prefers the company of strangers to that of her family on most occasions. She likes being a mystery to others, a puzzle to figure out. Once someone gets to know her too well, though, her mother's teachings instill a bit of fear in her and she keeps herself away from them as much as she can. The only ones who know much about her are her family. She has a very short fuse and is easy to rile up. She always has to have the last word in an argument and can't let the little things in life go. Kioo is loyal to no one but herself and her family, even though she might not show it at times. Her twin brother is very near and dear to her heart, although she doesn't act like it. Admitting mushy things like that is a sign of weakness, and she's too tough to have weaknesses! Bring it on, world, Kioo is ready for you.
Anything else: I'd love for her to get caught up with a stranger during her Pilgrimage that makes her change her outlook on lions she doesn't know. Perhaps they get into a fight and she loses miserably or maybe she returns with a cub or two. Her Pilgrimage should make her see what her mother meant by not trusting anyone.

Black Cub Name and meaning: Dau
Adult Name and meaning: Vi'akatigata - Individual (Punjabi)
White Twin Cub Name: Nau
White Twin Name Meaning: Two, both, couple (Welsh... And actually the same applies for Dau!)
Black Cub Personality: Dau can be manipulative of everybody around her, with the exception of her twin brother. With him, she's flat-out protective, and will use manipulation to help protect him. She wouldn't SMOTHER him, of course, but she can't help wanting to look out. The air she'll put on for others is sweet and innoccent, using the act to gain what she wants of them. Her intentions aren't dark, though - Everything is a means to a greater goal and place. She's just not entirely sure what that final goal is. She feels something of a special connection for her and her brother to their mountain home, but she's not sure what it is - She can't quite put her paw on it.
Plans/ Strategy for pilgrimage: At first she will set out with her twin on their journey... One way or another, she'll make sure they set out together. Over time, though, she'll see lions out on their own and grow curious about what such a thing is like. She'll suggest to her brother that they split ways for a time, and meet back in a designated spot in a designated amount of time. In this time alone, she will find herself, and find that while she IS a twin... She's also an individual. While she'll never stop being protective of her brother, she will hope the time apart will give him some more confidence.
Anything Else: She's not evil, she's just goal- and twin-protection driven :>

Cub Name and Meaning: Kissa: Egyptian name meaning "sister of twins."
Adult Name and Meaning: (Will be determined by her naming quest)
Personality: Being a twin is incredibly important to Kissa. It defines her entire identity. The fact that Azaf is almost completely indifferent to her and their link as twins drives her to distraction. She wants him to acknowledge that they do in fact share a special kind of closeness, even if he only admits it to her. To this end she tries every single tactic in the book to get it out of him. This quickly morphs into simply trying to get any reaction out of her taciturn twin. Her entire cubhood will be devoted to plaguing her brother with the single goal of getting him to do something. At that point she doesn't much care what. She just wants him to react to her.
She is actually a relatively normal cub. Playful and full of energy and always ready with a quick smile. Like any cub she has a quick temper but is also quick to forget, and certainly is not one to hold a grudge. She mostly brushes off her mother's grumpiness as it is simply how her mother is and Kissa doesn't know her differently. She knows her mom loves her and that is all that really matters in a cub's world. She equally adores her father though often complains when his attention distracts her from playing.
Anything else: Would certainly love to develop the relationship between the twins.

White Twin Cub Name: Tai
White Twin Name Meaning: Chinese meaning 'Great'
Black Cub Personality: Not only is she the opposite of her twin in looks and build (being rather larger than most), but in temperament also. Where he is patient and kind she is snappish and short with others. Her temper runs quick but cold, and she believes revenge is a dish best served on ice. When it comes to those who are not family she is quite happy to show her fangs and claws as well as her temper. She dislikes company and can't see why anyone must bother her when she is perfectly happy alone. However her family are hers, and while she may not be very nice to them either, often irritable with a sharp tongue, she would fight to the death to protect every single member. Pay any of the family even the smallest slight, and Mai will be coming to collect in return, with added interest.
Tai is the only lion in the entire pride she will tolerate for long periods of time. In fact she is extremely protective of him to the point where she will become violent if he is mistreated or upset. She will often be found lurking in the background watching over him as he plays with their siblings.
Plans/ Strategy for pilgrimage: She will go where ever Tai goes unless forced otherwise, and by forced, little but a full out war will keep her from shadowing her far more fragile twin.
Anything Else: It may occur to others that Mai and Tai should probably swop names, as they seem to be named for each other's personality. Since Tai is sweet and gentle, and Mai is a great pain in the a**...

Cub Name and Meaning: Tiron (Javanese for replica)
Adult Name and Meaning: TBD
Personality: Being a twin won't really faze Tiron all that much. Like her brother, she isn't easy to rile, but she likes to think that it's more of a still waters run deep sort of thing. She is content to observe (and comment upon) things around her, rather than actually be among them. Even so, Tiron would protest if someone accused her of being apathetic or just like her twin. As far as she's concerned, the pride is simply too boring to arouse her interest or be worthy of a reaction. She has great hopes for her pilgrimage, however. She imagines that she will find something (or someone) to care passionately about once she is away from the pride. She does care for and about her family, but unless that is tested, it would probably be difficult to tell.
Anything else: I have no idea if she will find something (or someone) to care passionately about on her pilgrimage, but she will return from it with a renewed appreciation for her family and pride, and all those things she took for granted before. I expect she will probably never be a particularly demonstrative or emotive lioness though.

Adult Name and Meaning: (To be determined upon her pilgrimage)
Personality: Eris, unlike her twin, is very involved with others, if only for the purpose of playing tricks and pranks on them. The majority of her pranks are reserved for her siblings, or occasionally her father, but the two lions she'll never tease is her twin and her mother. Eris has tried to pester and prod Azaf into reacting like her other siblings do, but he just doesn't seem to find any discomfort nor interest in it! She's been testing his endless patience for so long that it's become sort of a challenge. As for why she won't tease her mother... Well, she's not stupid.

White Twin Name Meaning: Quiet (Maori)
Black Cub Personality: Maia is a very loud cub, that's certain and she's always giving 120% into, well, everything she does. She is a very active, very bold, and very loud-mouthed feline. However, her most notable trait is how much caring and protective she is towards her twin brother, Ata. She'll rough-house with her other siblings, she'll get into fights with Lior and she'll boast about any of her accomplishments at any given time, but she will never do wrong by Ata. She loves him for his quiet nature, for his dry humor and for his fragile personality. She wants to protect him and by golly, that's exactly what she's going to do. If any of her siblings, or even her parents, try to talk to him in a way that even hints at negativity, she'll be thrown into a fit. As you may guess, this doesn't exactly make her and her mother the best of chums, but so long as she's got her twin at her side, she would really care less.
Plans/ Strategy for pilgrimage: Maia will do everything in her power to stick by her twin's side during the entire time for their pilgrimage. She'll only really leave if Ata asks her to and even then, she won't want to leave him alone for very long.

Cub Name and Meaning: Azai: No meaning that I know of, just playing off of her twin's name.
Adult Name and Meaning: Leila'nar: Night's Fire (Arabic)
Personality: Azai is troubled. Like her sister Lior she really just wants to be liked and accepted, but for some reason her twin brother, the only one she wants a close relationship with, won't give that to her. At least, not in the way that she would like. Azai just wants to be as thick as thieves with Azaf. After all, they do look alike! Nonameyet's relationship with his twin makes Azai incredibly jealous, and as she grows older she will grow to dislike the both of them for it. Not hate, as Azai could never hate her family, but she will avoid hanging out with them if they are together.
Azaf's indifferent attitude will cause Azai to act as a cub and young adolescent. She will do anything to get Azaf's attention, and will throw quite the tantrum if she doesn't get it. The constant failure of getting Azaf's affection will make her a bitter and jaded adult, and after her pilgrimage she will come to terms with the fact that Azaf will never be that close to her, and she will turn indifferent towards him as well, making the two ironically even more similar.
Azai will have a fierce need to prove herself in any way possible, even if that means doing something that gets her into trouble. She can easily end up running with the wrong crowd if she thinks it will mean others will be impressed by her. But, as she grows older, and especially as an adult, Azai may have a difficult time distinguishing "impressed" from "intimidated."
Anything else: On her pilgrimage she will learn about fire and become quite fascinated with it, which is where her name will come from.
