The house was simple and small. 2 bed rooms. One set up for her. That much was clear. The other had a bed and a closet full if mix matched clothes. What little bit of furniture she had didn't match. It was a small brown couch, a bright orange rocker, a plain wooden coffee table, and a few unevenly colored shelves. But the house and clean and neat. Everything had it's place.

Even in this part of town, the alarms were going on. Something big had happened on the wall. When the lights flashed and the alarms were sounded it was a sign to get inside and lock the doors. After all, there was nothing worst than a zombie outbreak in a walled in town.
Unfortunately, in her hurry to get home, she let go of Kass to better steady herself. She wasn't sure if he followed or no. The loud noise in the air made it hard for her to focus on anything. "I hope you kept up." She breathed, her hands shaking as she went to unlock her door, dropping the keys on the ground. A few choice words that no woman should mutter left her lips as she dropped to her knees looking for her keys.
It took a minute of her hand making large sweeps around he ground before she found was she was looking for. Her key was marked with a raised dot, not that she had many keys to begin with. raising to her feet, she paused as she thought she heard something behind her. "Kass?" Her breath caught on the back of her throat as she unlocked the door. "Kass, If that's you.... please open the door." She wasn't ready to run into zombies again. The very thought was almost crippling.

• The loss of her touch almost meant the loss of his own focus for he no longer had a guiding force. And these damn whisperings. This was the worst part of the mutations, to be subjected to madness in times he wished to evade it. They voices grew louder as people panicked and ran. It was so hard not to give chase, to reach out and grab someone, a warm body to sink his teeth into and allow his tongue to bathe in the savory sanguine. But he had to stop, blue hues spotted the long brunette hair, focusing solely on it as he pursued after the other. It was his only chance to get out of here without causing even more chaos and risking his own self.
• He never allowed himself to catch up fully, needing to chase her to keep himself from chasing after another. Thankfully his focus did not turn elsewhere and before long Alice seemed to halt, trying to unlock a door before her. Her hands fumbled, trembling that only seemed to taunt his hunger more, but he fought himself against the ill choice that presented itself. After all, there was no easier prey. No, no. Stop. He couldn't allow it the better of him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, the kind where he focused on the act of breathing itself rather than the tempting taste that coated his tongue.
• He stopped mid-exhale as the woman voiced herself, blue hues looking her over a moment before he reached around her to take hold of the doorknob and opened the door. "It's me." Even with all the internal struggling, his voice never changed from it's placid tone. Externally, it seemed like nothing could ever get him to change, but inside everything was affected. Yet, this outward demeanor is what kept him alive, kept him safe. He could not risk throwing that away to grimace or offer a smile. Not like she could see him anyways, but he would not risk it for where she could not see him, others could.

A voice finally rang out. It was his voice. Not only that but the door opened. Alice let out a sigh as she grabbed his arm and pulled him inside. Quickly she removed the keys and shut and locked the door behind her. "Good. Now I'll show you to the shower and guest room." There was no hesitation in her movements. The floor had little white dots all over and she could hear ever step made.
"This way please." She said , tossing her staff onto a short couch and headed to the back of the house., walking though the dinning room and turned right. Alice paused and opened up a closet door with towels, soap, and so on in it. "Once you are washed up the room to the right here will be yours. In the closet are clothes that other people have left but I don't know if anything will fit. Or match for that matter."
With that she turned and left him to do his thing. She knew how many steps to took to get anywhere in her house. Everything had it's place. As long as everything always stayed the same then she never had to worry about anything. It was a fun party trick in fact. A few times she bluffed people into thinking she could see when she was home, only cause they didn't understand what she did. Count steps.
Heading to the kitchen, Alice washed her face, trying to get the image of a zombie out of her mind. As long as she was thinking about that horrible thing, she would never be able to relax. the cool water felt good against her skin before she dried off and went back to the living room.
Alice turned on some music as she curled up on the couch, tucking her legs up under herself. Another heavy sigh parted her lips as she tried to unwind. "Come on.. you'll make your guest jumpy if your jumpy yourself." She said thinking he would hear her talking to herself.

• Kass didn't resist as the woman pulled him in, only taking a moment to look the place over as she locked up. His gaze turned to the floor, lifting a inquisitive brow. It'd been awhile since he'd seen tactile paving in a home. One might finding it in the streets or a public building, but a home was a different matter. Hmm. Of course, it bothered his feet none, given the boots he wore, but even barefoot this would be fine. After all, he traveled barefoot over loose gravel too many times to be pained by it.
• Now instructed to follow, he did just that while continuing to observe his surroundings. It was best to know all possible escape routes in case there was an incident that called for his departure. However, their 'trip' was a short one, his attentions turning to the closet and looked at the contents within as he listened. Well, at least he knew he wouldn't have to run through the house with no more than a towel. That would be rather embarrassing.
• "Thank you . . . Alice." He said, but the woman was already heading off to whatever she wished to tend to, such as perhaps peering out the window for whatever impending doom he was certain would not come. Ah, but he dismissed such thoughts, thinking now only of what waited him to his left. After all, this had the be the bathroom, yes? A turn of the knob and a push of the door revealed it was as he assumed. He hummed a little gaily to himself before he fetched all that he needed from the closet and then proceeded to shut himself in the bathroom. The man placed his things where he desired them before sealing off the drain and switched the faucet on. To say he was a little impatient was the unfortunate truth, wanting to soak and relax for the first time in a long while. First thing was first, however.
• The act of undressing left him hesitant, but he did so anyhow. Being naked was something he was conflicted over. It was nice to simply be in one's own skin without the extra coverings, to actually feel rather than experience just the pressure of something's presence. Yet, wearing such coverings was beneficial for a number of reasons. It was protective and well, it allowed one to leave room for imagination, but overall, society demanded it. That was a good thing in many cases. But such worries soon faded as the tub filled high enough for Kass' liking, the male slipping into the water and letting out a pleased groan. Oh, one did not find such warm waters outside of city walls as such luxuries were saved for the fearful. He sank deeper until the water touched his chin, the tub's length, or lack there of, force his legs to bend at the knee and come above the water level, not that he minded. He was content to have such a privilege, even if it was only for the moment. He'd just have to be careful not to grow too comfortable and end up snoozing here.
• Kass took his time as he soaked, taking a cloth to help the dirt and built up grime depart from his skin. He was almost certain he had become a shade lighter as he did so. Of course, soaking soon turned into showering, as the man soon forced himself to actually wash up. It would be a surprise if there was any hot water left when he finished. Then came time for himself to step out and dry off. He was most reluctant to do so, but he really had no choice in the matter. He had hogged this space long enough and to be honest, he was more weary now than before. Such was a danger after a nice long hot bath.
• He had dried off to the best of his attempt before he wrapped the terrycloth about his waist and gathered up all his things before making a run for the bedroom. He was rather silent in his movements, other than the opening and closing of doors. At least Alice would be aware he hadn't drowned himself in the tub. But now in the confines of the bedroom, he found a place to fold and set his clothes along with his glaive and his other things. He planned on leaving here wearing exactly what he came here with. While the thought of new clothing did sound nice, he knew it would mean he would have to carry more with him and end up dirtying those as well. Yet, he would pick out something to sleep in for now, knowing he did not wish to track his dirt into the bed with him.
• He hung about the closet for only a few minutes, feeling the need for sleep weigh heavier on him now than before. Eventually he picked out nothing more than a pair of black sweats and a long sleeve dark grey fitted shirt. Surprisingly everything fitted just fine and with it came the joy of what was next, the male stumbling towards the bed before he just dropped onto it. He took a second to make himself comfortable before allowing himself to finally drift off to a much needed sleep.

Her guest spent quite a bit of time.in the bathroom. More than she thought was humanly posable. But she could hear the water turn on and off a few times. He hadn't been joking about wanting a bath. During her wait, at some point she fell asleep on the couch. She wasn't awake for him getting out or heading off to get clothes. The music she put on started to loop after a while but no one was conscious enough to notice.
It wasn't long after they were both asleep that the all clear sounded. It was a shorter alarm with blue lights that flashed. It was also much softer sounding. So it rarely woke people up from there slumber.
A few hours passed when Alice came too and slipped from the couch. She grumbled softly, rubbing one eye with the back of her hand. In her half asleep daze, Alice had all but forgotten about her guest as she went to the kitchen to rummage for a bite to eat. "Umm... but it's not what the same." She grumbled, opening cabinets and feeling around. "Oh...right. I needed to stock up too."

• He wanted to sleep longer, to spend the whole day in bed. Maybe even a few more days after that as well, but alas he could not. The wretched piece of him that was his internal clock soon stirred him from his heavy slumber, but even so he could not bother to shift his exhausted form. Fortunately, it was about as much sleep as he normally got, maybe a little bit more. That didn't mean he was ready to be up and moving about.
• A slow sigh left his lips before he opened his eyes, taking a few moments to recall his surroundings and who they belonged to. That's right, that girl Alice. He hummed softly, though it could be interpreted as a groan. Either way, the man seemed to lay there for awhile longer, but he did not close his eyes as he so wished to do. It took about an hour since then that he finally got up and moving, clearly drenched in fatigue, the male yawning largely. To be honest, he wasn't aware how long he had been out or what occurred outside the four walls of this home.
• Shuffling out of the bedroom, he could hear movement in another part of the house. Guess Alice was up and moving already. Then again, she could have been awake this whole time. It didn't matter too much at this point, but he made his way to her, finding her in the kitchen in search of food. "Hello Alice." His normal tone carried a thin undertone exhaustion, but that was to be expected.

Alice has just made a bowl on cereal and had it almost finished when the voice ran out. She was still so focused on the alarms and other things, she almost forgot about her guest. The cheap plastic bowl came out if her hands and splashed the remaining milk as it bounced off the floor. A sharpe breath sucked in as she turned on her heels. "Hey their, Kass... right?"
With a thin smile she snatched up a red and white checkered rag from the counter then dropped to the floor. "I didn't hear you get up. I normally hear people." Alice explained as she found her bowl and got the milk up the best she could for now before returning upright once more. "I was expecting you to sleep for at least 8 hours, maybe more. You've only been out for a few. You know where the bed is if you need more."
Her nose wrinkled as she thought about the lack of food she kept stalked. "I'm sure you are hungry. Would sandwichs be ok? I have churchy peanut butter but I'm out of jelly. There is milk and cereal too." turning on the water she cleaned her hands "later we can try and find you your Owen place, get you set up for wall duty, and work."

• Blue hues watched the bowl as it fell to the floor, surprised the woman was startled by him. Then again, he forgot how silent he could be, perhaps he needed to work on that while here. "Correct." He said, slightly cocking his head as he watched her clean up her mess, wondering if he should lend a hand or let her take care of it. "My apologies for not being more audible, it's a learned habit from being outside the MetroPlex too long." That was the truth, though only part of it.
• Moving into the dining room, he took his seat at the table and looked around, but he gave pause as Alice spoke of sleeping longer. "No need, it would disrupt my usual sleeping pattern, any how." Another unfortunate truth. "Besides, I sleep like the dead and if there was an emergency you would find that trying to wake me would be futile." It was probably the one thing he wished to rid himself of, knowing that every time he closed his eyes he was putting himself in danger, but at least he was able to get sleep during those times.
• The offer of food made him give thought to whether he would accept or not, but eventually decided it might be for the best to have a bit of something. He had agitated his hunger earlier in the day and food quieted it down . . . Sometimes. "Yes, a sandwich sounds fine." He began, "And whatever do you mean by wall duty and work? The only debt I owe is to you, no one else." His burrow furrowed momentarily, before he features relaxed. "I only plan on being here a day or so more, then I'm leaving the city." He needed to be an anonymous body in this city, anything that required him to present identification or personal information was a risk he couldn't take.
