Brief Description of your Pride/Pack: The Indlovukati are a pride ruled by powerful lioness warriors. Females in this pride are taught from a young age to live to their truest potential and to never allow themselves to be dominated or mistreated by males. Lead by their Queen, the Indlovukati is meant to be a safe haven for lionesses to live their lives however they choose under the protection of the warriors. Anansi believes that all lionesses should have the opportunity to live free and peaceful lives. In general, they live in relative peace, due to the fact that there are few from the outside who are willing to go up against the warriors.
Familiar Rules: All familiars are allowed as long as they are bonded to a member.
Pride/Pack History: Anansi was once a princess in her homeland, until one day everything that she knew was lost. Her home, her family, her people, everything was gone. Distraught, she sought refuge in the rainforest, in hopes of finding a safe place to live for a while. Unfortunately, there was untold danger lurking in the trees.The area where the Indlovukati currently reside was controlled by a violent gang of males who kept all the lionesses in the area as slaves. Females were only allowed to hunt and bear cubs for the dominant males, they were otherwise kept guarded in dark caves. Any female that stepped too far out of line was at risk of being beaten or killed. The lionesses there feared the males, and were mostly meek and subservient to them.
One day, Anansi was found and she was captured and enslaved by the males that dominated the area. When she was brought to their home, she was horrified by the way the lionesses were treated having come from an all female pride. Anansi knew she had to fight back against the males who kept them in bondage or she would live the rest of her life as a slave, and being a princess at heart, she couldn't have that. Anansi tried to teach the lionesses that they were strong and could defeat the males by working together. Some of the lionesses still cowered in fear, but many began to perk up at Anansi's words of encouragement. She managed to gather together all of the lionesses who were willing to fight against the males alongside her and started a rebellion.
Many lionesses died during the chaos that ensued once the females began to fight for their freedom. Nonetheless, the lionesses won the battle and defeated the males under Anansi's leadership. Afterward, the lionesses claimed the lands where they were once enslaved as their home. Anansi took the time to teach the lionesses how to fight and defend themselves so that they could protect each other from harm. She also taught them not to fear males, for they were weak minded and sought to control females because of this weakness. The lionesses asked if Anansi would stay and continue to lead them and teach them to be strong, and having developed a deep sisterly bond with them, Anansi was happy to find a new home in the rainforest with her new family. Over time, Anansi developed the Warrior System so that the lionesses would never have to fear for their lives, and their new home would forever be protected and safe from harm.

These lionesses are not cruel, they live happy and peaceful lives due to their collective strength. Females build strong bonds of trust with each other, and will protect one another above all. Anansi believes that all lionesses should have the opportunity to live free and peaceful lives and does her best to keep everyone happy and at their best. There are few from the outside who are willing to go up against the warriors.
Females
The females are the backbone of the pride and hold everything together. Females are considered to be wise, responsible, nurturing, patient, mentally strong, and fearless beings. Mothers are highly respected members of the pride and are referred to as Life Givers for their ability to bring forth new life.
Females are also thought to have a stronger connection with the gods and spiritual matters. Both female cubs that are born in and rogue females that join the pride have the option of being trained as warriors by the pride's masters. The lioness warriors are the main source of strength and protection in the pride.
Males
Males are allowed to live in their homeland, but the positions that they take on in society are restricted and they are not allowed to lead. They also have their own sleeping area that is close by but separate from the females and cubs. Because of the pride's history, males are believed to be prone to violent and out of control (berserk) behavior. When male cubs are born or rogue males join in, they are watched closely for signs of berserk behavior.
However, males are not mistreated nor are they considered second class. Although, every female is entitled to her own opinion of males, and may treat males differently according to what they think of them. Males are the hunters of the pride because it is believed that it is good for them to have an outlet to unleash violent energy.
Ultimately, the females seek to live in peace and harmony with the them and are generally on friendly terms. Generally, most of the pride's males are out hunting during the day. Those who take on other positions stay within the pride's boundaries most of the time, but can choose to go out hunting as well. Males will often try to impress the females to gain favor in society.
Cubs
Cubs of any gender are considered a blessing from the gods. All cubs are cared for by all females, but cubs can generally be found sticking close to mom when they're not romping around the pride. Mothers love their daughters and sons equally, they simply have different expectations of them as they grow older. The cubs live a spoiled and carefree life loved by everyone.
Female cubs are seen as the future of the pride. They are taught to be strong and wise. They are often allowed on the warrior's training grounds to play and observe the warriors.
Mating
Love and mating is considered a beautiful thing and something to celebrate when a lioness chooses. Lionesses are free to take on male or female mates and lovers as they please.
Breeding
Breeding is something that is always encouraged within the pride. Rogue breeding is allowed and encouraged as it brings in new blood to the pride via the mother. The Indlovukati celebrate cubs above all other things and see them as gifts from the heavens. Females have several options when it comes to reproducing.
If a female is single and wants cubs, she can either chose a male from within the pride, or she can venture out into the roguelands and find a rogue male to breed with. If a female has a male mate, she can simply have cubs with him. If a female has a female mate, then they will decide whether one of them wants to breed with a male pride member or a male rogue.
Rogues
Rogues are allowed to join the pride and take on positions just like any other pride member. New males will be watched closely for their initial time period there.
Queen The ruling female of the pride, her job is to uphold the laws and traditions of the pride and maintain the warrior system, her word is final.
Soulmate {Female or Male} The chosen mate of the Queen, the Soulmate can also act as the Queen's consultant.
Princess The daughters of the Queen, as adults they can hold the title of Princess, take on a job position, or become warriors, the Queen will chose one as an heir.
Prince The sons of the Queen, as adults they can hold the title of Royal or take on a work position.
Royal These are blood relatives of the Queen.
Master {Female Only} Masters are highly respected warriors who have trained for a long time, and have gone on a spiritual journey to learn about their inner selves in order to awaken their truest potential. Masters have the most experience living the lives of warriors, and are the respected teachers of warriors and all other pride members. They are said to be very disciplined and balanced individuals. They also act as a council for the Queen, protecting her and helping her make decisions.
Guardian {Female Only} Once warriors have proven themselves to be competent, they can take on the job of guardian. Guardians are warriors who are responsible for watching over the pride's borders and making sure that no strangers make it inside, they take turns working day and night so that there are always watchful eyes protecting the pride, if any danger where to actually appear, the guardians will alert the other warriors and defend the pride with their lives. They also maintain peace and order in the pride and resolve issues between the members of the pride, and to make sure sparring matches don't get too out of hand
Warrior {Female Only} The pride's source of strength and leadership, the warriors protect and fight for the pride, ensuring the safety of their rainforest.
Spirit Guide These members of the pride are highly spiritual and help others attain personal balance and understanding of spiritual matters. They are commonly known to act as therapists. priests, counselors and healers of the spirit. Some of them are seers, and some of them simply have a stronger than usual connection to the spiritual realm.
Storyteller These pride members uphold the history and oral tradition in the pride, they pass on the knowledge and history of the pride by telling elaborate stories about the important events and figures in their history to the youth and other members, this rank is sometimes passed down depending on the family (i.e. if a mother is a storyteller, then she may train one or more of her daughters to be storytellers).
Healer These are the midwives and general healers of the pride. These members also specialize in herbs and medicines and give aid to the sick and injured, they do their best to keep everyone healthy and happy.
Mkazi The default rank for adult females in the pride, they are well respected
Hunter The default rank for adult males in the pride, they are responsible for hunting and providing the pride with outside resources

The System
The Warrior system is in place in order to regulate the level of warrior training that pride members receive based on their rank. The knowledge and education of the way of the warrior is something that has become invaluable to the lionesses of the pride.
The Indlovukati pride themselves on their ferocity, strength, fearlessness, and unity. This system ensures that the pride will always be powerful and protected from those who would do them harm. Even the meekest of lioness in the Indlovukati will know what to do if she is ever attacked.
The Queen and her family train with the best masters in the pride. Their safety is most important, so they are trained to protect themselves and taught everything that the masters know about warrior life, so that the knowledge may be passed down to future generations. The Queen holds all of the pride's most guarded knowledge and secrets, and is in charge of passing that knowledge on to future masters.
Masters
Masters have already spent time training as warriors to hone their bodies. When warriors are ready, they will embark upon a quest to hone their minds. This is called a Spirit Quest. During the Spirit Quest, warriors will travel alone, either to the deeper parts of the rainforest or out in the roguelands, to find and learn about the deeper parts of themselves.
No warrior can ascend to the level of master without completing this quest. It is essential for a master to have at least some understanding of both the physical and spiritual properties of their being. Once the warrior finds understanding of herself, she will return to the pride enlightened. Then she will take on the title of master and help train other members of the pride.
Once warriors become masters, they do not stop training, instead they try to perfect their basic abilities and build on them with new techniques in order to work toward their truest potential.
Guardians
These warriors specialize in observation and stealth. They are trained to see in the dark and notice fine movement in low light, and how to remain hidden and unseen. They are able to use their basic warrior skills in order to make fair judgement calls and have resolve issues on an individual basis.
Warriors
Warriors are given full on physical and mental training. They are taught all the fundamentals of living life as a warrior. They are taught to have patience and discipline and to not allow themselves to be overtaken by their weaknesses. They must observe and master the eight values of the warrior: loyalty, honor, sincerity, righteousness, courage, respect, benevolence, and self-control.
The combination of physical and mental training will allow lionesses to harness their inner abilities and natural talents to push themselves beyond
The ultimate goal for a warrior is to attain personal balance and full control over oneself.Therefore high imbalance is seen as a weakness. The masters know that each lioness is different and will come with different strengths and weaknesses.
If a warrior is seen to fail completely in any of the eight values, they will be demoted to mkazi. An example of this would be a lioness who was a perpetual liar with no attempt to change, or a lioness who allowed greed to take over her ambitions, or a traitor to the pride. They'd have to be pretty imbalanced for an ongoing period to be demoted.
Spirit Guides
Spirit guides are given basic self defense training, but mostly study the art of the mind. They share knowledge with the masters about spirituality and mental strength in order to aid pride members with troubled minds.
Healer
Midwives do not get much in the way of physical training. Instead they specialize in understanding the mind and how it works. Because they work in the healing the body, they must learn anatomy and where the pressure and energy points are located.
Storytellers, Mkazi, & Daughters
This group is only trained in self defense. They do not need much fighting ability for the positions that they take up in Indlovukati society. They are meant to be protected first and foremost but are encouraged to better themselves and learn to at least defend themselves.
Hunters & Sons
Males who do not take on other ranks will not receive warrior training. Males are thought to have the potential to be dangerous, so the average male is not trained as a safety precaution.
Male youth are mainly taught to hunt and develop respect for females. As cubs, they stay with their mothers and the other females. As adolescents, they begin to go out hunting with the adult males, but are still allowed in the female den.
