User Image It was a wonderful day to be alive. Hawnu was currently relaxing under one of the tall trees that had just enough sun streaming through its branches to warm his dark pelt. He stretched his powerful legs, claws extending for a moment, before he relaxed. It had been a rather boring few days in terms of fighting and he decided a nap was the best way to combat his boredom.

Unfortunately he had been napping for hours by this point and was getting antsy again. He looked up at the sun streaming through the trees and squinted a bit, scrunching up his nose. It wouldn't be too long until it began to set, cooling the forest and the plains beyond. Then he could go roam. For now, though, he didn't want to get too hot and ruin the fun he could have at night.

Pushing himself to his feet, he decided to find a stream to get a drink. He walked lazily through the trees, stopping every now and then to sniff a flower or admire a bird fluttering past. As a member of the pride he had an inherent love for all living things even if he didn't show it very often. A butterfly going by could render him awe-struck for the time it took to leave his sight, but you wouldn't catch him staring if he were in a group of other lions. Not only was he a warrior, but a prince as well. He had a reputation to uphold of a tough lion that would be there to protect those who lived here.

P'xan was more of a night owl but he had his moments of being up during the day. Rare as they were, it happened. It also happened that he was heading to get some water not to far from where Hawnu was. For some reason he never had the opportunity to meet his uncles or aunts when he was smaller but now that he was older it appeared to be he was running into family left and right.

He could smell that familiar smell of family and he recognized it to be his Uncle Hawnu. He was one of the Lions he looked up to. Not that he'd probably ever mention that out loud. P'xan was proud of what he did and liked to think himself one of the best but he knew that Hawnu was probably better. He had always seen his Uncle from afar but today was different. "Hello Uncle!" He announced bursting from the fauna not to far away to join him on the path towards the river. "Crazy that we're NOW getting the opportunity to meet eh?"

Hawnu's ears picked up the noise in the vegetation before his nose detected the other lion, but he knew there was no one to fear in the pride. They should fear him and his amazing skills, of course! Lifting his head, he grinned a bit when he recognized one of his nephews. He had had quite a few siblings so he couldn't place which brother or sister he belonged to, but he had seen him running around when he had been younger. This was the first time he'd seen him as an adult, though, and he was glad to find him energetic and happy.

"Quite crazy," he agreed with a chuckle. "Let's see...there's so many siblings to keep track of, which one do you call mother or father?" he asked, deciding to wait on getting a drink for now. "And you'll have to give me your name. Remembering faces and names isn't a forte of mine."

Everyone had to have their downfall, right? If his was not remembering lions names he'd consider that a great foil to have. Besides, once he was told his nephew's name he was sure he'd remember it. If he really tried and put some effort into it he could keep names in his mind.

P'xan had to think about it for a second and it was true. Their family was a rather large one at that. It was also the most important one in the pride. "Saagartarang is my father." He said beaming. He was proud of who his parents were. "It seems I have quite the number of siblings myself." He said with a chuckle in return.

"I'm P'xan."

He wondered if his Uncle was heading to the same place he was and decided to ask. If they were, might as well walk together right. "I was just heading towards the river for some water, perhaps we can walk together?" He asked with a hopeful look upon his face. "If you were heading that way, that is."

"Ahhhh yes...I see the resemblance now," Hawnu said with a grin, thinking fondly on his brother. He thought all his siblings were wonderful, honestly, but he felt a special tie with his brothers.

"P'xan, all right. P'xan, son of Saargartarang. I'm Hawnu, but I'm sure you knew that," he said, scoffing just a bit and tossing his head back with a grin. Really, he should have known who the other lion was as well, but he got brownie points for knowing he was a nephew at least, right?

"I was heading that way as well," he said with a nod, his tail flicking back and forth in delight. "I'd be more than happy to walk with you. Tell me about your life, P'xan! I feel as if I've failed you as an uncle, not being around to teach you the ways of the jungle. You seem to have grown into a wonderful male, of course. I would trust my brother with my own cubs, if I had any."

Sorry.. Got distracted by some RL things. -_-

"I do however get my paleness from my Mother." It was true, his paleness was from his mother, but he still had some of his fathers traits. He'd have to make sure to go and visit with him sometime and see how he was doing.

He gave his Uncle a smile and a nod. "I think you're the only uncle I'm familiar with. And I know Grandpa." He wasn't sure if that was something good or bad. He really needed to eventually get to know all of his family members on some sort of level.

His ears perked at the praise from his Uncle. And he scoffed at him and shook his head. "You haven't failed anyone." He attempted to reassure him. "I just try to keep busy with training or wandering around trying to get to know the area more." He said thinking about it for a moment. Hmm. What else might he want to know.

"Training, hm?" Hawnu asked, his eyes lighting up a bit. "What's your profession, P'xan? A warrior like me?" He hoped so. That would give him something to do, for sure! They could spar! Or just be lazy. It would all depend on how they felt after a drink.

They reached the stream and he waded in, his paws soaking up the cool water as he leaned down to take a long drink. Ah....that was exactly what the healer ordered.

"You hit the nail on the head." He said with a small laugh. He let out a breath of relief as they came to the water and he watched as Hawnu walked into the water and seemed to suddenly become a young lion again. "It seems you needed the water more than I did." He laughed as he joined him in the water and dipped his mouth to drink some of it.

Hawnu chuckled softly at his nephew's comment and motioned to his back. While he had lovely blue stripes and a nice mane, the majority of his pelt was as dark as the night.

"When you're this dark you heat up pretty easily," he said with a little wink. "Be thankful you took after your dear mother in coloration. Us dark pelted lions feel that sun much quicker than lions like you." He had never envied another pelt but there were times he had wished he had gotten some white mixed in with his blue rather than black. Ah well, it was what the great spirit had decided he'd look like. It really helped him blend in with the shadows, at least, making him a fantastic warrior.

"So! A warrior," he said, shaking his head to free his chin of water. "I'm glad you chose that path. It's one for the truly noble and brave."

"At least you blend in better. I stick out so I have to be even stealthier. I'd take the warmth over this any day." He said with a laugh. He didn't mind his coloring, though at times if he wanted to blend in it was difficult. He always made due though.

"I couldn't see myself being anything else. I very much enjoy making sure no one messes with our pride, let alone our family." He said proudly. He was indeed very pleased with his role in their journey through this life.

Hawnu chuckled softly and moved a bit closer to pat P'xan's back. "That's the spirit," he said with a fond smile. "I feel the same way. It's why I changed my title from prince to warrior," he added, lifting his head a bit higher. "I didn't want to sit around and do nothing, nor did I want others to give me special treatment just because I was born into royalty. I just wanted to get out there like any other lion and beat the snot out of anyone that dares to trespass on our lands."

He gave the younger lion a wink before moving away again. "So, you've been a warrior for a while now, and yet this is the first I've seen you out and about. You must be busy with duties, hm? The younger warriors tend to get quite a bit of the grunt work."

It took him a moment to realize that his Uncle had chosen his own path instead of allowing his birth rites to speak for him. It made him look up to the guy a whole lot more than what he already did. "I wish everyone had your way of thinking." He said with a smile. It was true, they all had a part in what happened with this pride and he wanted to be sure that he did his duties to protect what was his.

"Yes. And I know, I feel as though that shouldn't happen. Us not running into each other." He said as he responded to his uncles comment. "I am quite busy but that doesn't mean I don't have time to train or even listen to some 'old' war stories." Laughter filled his voice and the old was emphasized as a joke. He figured it would give him a good laugh. Maybe.

Hawnu burst out laughing as P'xan subtly called him old. "Hey now!" he said, reaching out to playfully shove the younger lion. "I'm not that much older than you, you know." He knew the other lion knew, but it was fun to get ragged on and do some ragging in return.

He grinned a bit wider and lowered his paw again. "You know what we should do? We should spar a bit. See if this 'old guy' still has some bite to his fight." He gave him a little wink to let him know it would be a fun little match, and it went without saying that no teeth or claws would be used. Just strength and maybe a smack or two in there.

AstoriaFallen
I think this RP has met its quota if we wanna do another RP where they just spar owo All the breeding RPs!

Sounds great! <3 I'm finished here.

He smiled as his uncle gave him a shove and he raised his brow as Hawnu smiled and suggested they do some sparring. "I would love to see how I stand against a 'seasoned' veteran such as yourself." He winked and gave him a chuckle.

He looked around and figured they could go to a more open spot. "Lets go to that small clearing that's not too far from here and put it to a test!" He said as he turned and headed towards the location they would spar.
