 Lyu was cold.
It was completely her fault though, she had gone and forgotten the leggings that she normally wore back at her den and was now walking around without any added layers on.
The cheetah let loose a small sigh as she padded around the hallways inside Umsindisi, thankfully that she wasn't actually outside in the dreaded weather or else her whiskers would have frozen solid and fallen off!
Lyubov didn't actually have anything in particular to do at the moment. Which was fine! Sort of... Okay not really, she didn't know what to do with herself. The queen was sleeping and she had already helped out with the royal cubs earlier that morning. Oh, and Shan Furen knew what disaster would become if Lyubov was the one to try and taste food again! All of this lead to the grand conclusion that was that now Lyubov was left without a job to do for the time being.
Which also lead back to the fact that Lyu had no idea where she was going. The poor cheetah probably looked horribly lost as she stood trying to decide which direction she'd go walking off to...

Rin wasn't doing much today, but that was common. Rin rarely left her den lately, bar to prevent Kakariko from doing something foolish, and the female mostly left to hunt, and return home. Hunt, return, to hide in her den and wait for so many days it hurt, it hurt to breath and to watch out, and the female would often cry herself to sleep before even the sun was down. And some days she didn't want up at all. Today was a good day. Today she'd gotten up, and fetched a meal from hunting, slowly moving directly for her den, head and ears low as she moved deftly for home, and paused seeing a cheetah standing close to home - so close, and so lost, and Rin shook her head, pawing the ground before looking up, dropping her kill to her paws as she finally spoke in the softest of voices timidly. "Are you okay?"

The voice that spoke to her was so very soft that Lyubov almost thought it was just a voice in her head, or somebody moving along speaking to their friend. It truly took a few seconds before it clicked that the voice was speaking to her.
She looked up at the leopard coming towards her and Lyu offered a smile in return. "O-oh I'm fine! J-just a l-little chilly is all!" She gave a small laugh to go along with her smiley face.
The stranger looked awfully sad, Lyu thought to herself. Had something bad happened? No, no, wait. It wasn't her business to ask, she knew that. Still she couldn't help it she felt concerned if someone so much as frowned in her presence. She wanted to help people! She wanted to make them feel happy and good!
"I'm okay." She said with a shiver. "Are you okay?" She asked, still wearing a smile on her face.

"I have some pelts to rest in before you move on nearby if you like." Rin whispered softly. The female smiled, moving close to share her own body heat before rumbling a bit. "I'm well enough." The female whispered a bit, then nodded. "I've been hunting, if you're hungry?" It wouldn't do to not offer a cold pridemate warmth and a good meal, even if she didn't feel great. Her mind already roamed away to fuss - and then hurt.

Lyu was thankful when Rin moved closer and she could feel the leopard's warmth through her own thin coat of fur. "H-how kind... t-thank you!" She smiled happily. It was nice and reassuring to know that her pridemates were so kind and thoughtful sometimes.
"O-oh no. That's alright I'm not hungry!" She let loose a small hint of a laugh. Lyu did horrible with blood. Despite not being royalty sometimes food was served to her skinned and boned if only because the mere sight of the red liquid usually caused her feel queasy.
Sometimes she'd even faint.
"I-I don't mean to sound impatient or anything b-but... Is your den very far?" She asked, shivering. The cheetah made a mental note to herself to never forget her furs again, less she wished to rely on a fellow pridemate's generosity for warm again!

"Nt terribly." Rin said, with the thinnest, weakest smile. The leopard remained close, beginning to move. "I try avoiding areas snow might come. Especially after..." She trailed off, shaking her head sadly. "After what happened. I want to be safe... The snow frightened me."

Did she mean after the avalanche? Lyu shivered, but not from the cold this time. She shivered because she remembered how dreadful that whole ordeal had been. For her, for everyone. So many had died, it was saddening...
The cheetah looked ready to almost cry at those thoughts and memories but instead decided to wear a smile. "I understand that." Lyu nodded thoughtfully. "The snow can be scary. It's so cold after all!"
Lyu inched her way towards Rin's den with her as support and then realized she had forgotten to introduce herself! Oh, how rude. "M-my name's Lyubov!" She blurted out randomly. "Might I ask your name?"

"Mmmm." Rin nodded slowly, and the hurt of the memory refreshed, the leopard looking down a moment before looking to Lyu. "Oh, ah... I am Rin." She said, and shyly nodded her head. "It's nice to meet you." Closing in on the den Rin reached, lifting a pelt in her jaws before wrapping it around Lyu; practiced from reminding Kakariko to keep warm and bundling the awkward leopard, and a weak smile crossed Rin's face again as she nosed Lyu to enter. "Here, get warm, I hope it's not too uncomfortable?"

Lyu's ears perked up at hearing the leopardess introduce herself. "Rin, nice to meet you as well!" It was nice easy name to remember, not that Lyu really had difficulties remembering names, but some were quite a mouthful and difficult to say she found.
She was a bit surprised, though moved by the kindness that was Rin placing a pelt over her shivering self. "Thank you!" She exclaimed. "Oh no, not uncomfortable at all." She shook her head. "It's so very kind of you to let me in your den like this. Really, thank you." She smiled warmly, widely and sincerely at the leopard.
"Oh but- your not uncomfortable yourself are you? I mean... I'm not wearing your only pelt right?" Lyu would feel terrible if this was the only pelt Rin had, and here she was, nearly a complete stranger, wearing it while the other female had to suffer!

"Oh, no, no, it's not." Rin smiled again, moving and pulling a pelt out meant for a larger leopard, and she nosed it silently. "I have a spare in case..." A pause. In case she still had a mate, in case she was still loved and wanted, if he lived, in case... "....Well, what matters is, I havr it. I don't mind helping if someone is cold. And I can catch another if I need." She smiled again as if so sure, and nodded trying to look far more proud than the small creature felt, based on how quickly she curled up in the item. "Please, don't be scared to warm yourself."

Lyu smiled with relief, ah good. So she wasn't hogging the only pelt in the area. It would have bothered her to no end if she was. Whenever anyone suffered in return for Lyu's comfort it was nearly unbearable for the kindly cheetah. To watch as they pretended they were fine, oh the agony! She would much rather freeze then watch someone else be chilly while she was using their pelt.
"T-thank you." She nodded, snuggling the pelt and feeling it's soft surface against her thin coat. "It's nice that you have spare pelts to be prepared for anything!" She grinned. "Some people I know aren't prepared at all- not a single pelt in their den, imagine that! They must not be bothered by the cold." She nodded to herself as she spoke.

"Not a one?" Rin looked up and mewled in concern. For all her hurting, she'd forgotten others, and guilt washed her like it often did, the female looking around before looking to Lyu. "Perhaps I should help find more. Nobody should go cold, or hungry." The leopardess offered softly. "It's not fair..." Not fair others hurt more. She felt intense guilt when she was alive and simply lonely, even if it was heartbreak.

The cheetah frowned. Hmm, well, it wasn't as if she hadn't considered it but Lyu preferred to think that others without pelts simply didn't want them. If they needed them there were several wonderful ones for sale in the market.
Yet maybe they didn't have anything to buy them with? Oh dear, that would have meant the cheetah had made a horrible mistake in assuming wrong.
"No, no it isn't." She agreed with a sigh. Suddenly the cheetah's eyes lit up, "Hey, I have an idea! Why don't we go looking for pelts later?" She had done so for the pelt-giving ceremony a few months ago and the thought struck her that why not go hunting for some again? If it was only the two of them they had no need to be outside for overly long searching for them. They could be in and out of the cave within a handful of hours! Oh, and there was no rush or need for Lyu to have to actually hunt anything either. It could work.
"I mean, only if you want to, since you mentioned helping and all!" Lyu smiled widely.

"I'd like that." Rin smiled warmly, straightening the tiniest bit. "I like to help others feel better, and it has been unseasonably cold. I think I remember where Kakariko and I found some when searching months ago, too... Maybe more there?" It was an idea, with how deep the caves had been.

Now Lyu was excited.
"Well, there's no harm in checking!" She said brightly. Lyu had serious doubts that wherever it was that Rin had found the pelts that there was someone who had moved into the area in all that time. It was pretty difficult to survive in the cold, even in a cave.
Speaking of, she shivered. She didn't really want to move out of the pelt that Rin had given her to warm up with. It was nice and she was comfy. But if they were going pelt hunting it was enviable.
The cheetah slowly stood, still keeping the pelt wrapped around her body. "I'll go get my pelt and we can go looking then!" She beamed with enthusiasm. The cheetah then turned to leave the cavern, but before she left remembered she was wearing Rin's pelt still.
"O-oh, I'll just, leave this here." She gave a small laugh, allowing the pelt to slip down and on the floor.
