Introduction
Although the priestesses have been alert and watchful, there have been no signs this year that the season of breytast vindar has arrived, or will arrive, as the time of year during which it typically occurs has nearly passed. Although unusual, the lawspeakers affirm that this is not the first time that a year has not had a period of breytast vindar.
Warlord Ruzski, secure in the knowledge that he cannot be challenged for his position for another year, has decided to arrange a vast competition for the pride's warriors so that at least there will be some great combative spectacle for the lawspeakers to recall when this year is mentioned in the future. This competition will have four divisions: Reavers/Captains, Freeborn, Youth, and Thrall.
Since this is meant to be a festive event, no death or deliberate maiming is permitted. Instead, each match is conducted in rounds based on points scored, with the first combatant to reach three points being declared the victor.
For IC reference, points may be scored with a clear strike (claws in, no blood) to a vital location (face, stomach, throat), a clear strike (claws out, blood drawn) to a nonvital location (anywhere else), or a clear bite to a nonvital location. Bites to vital locations will result in the biter being disqualified. If someone wants to have their own fighter disqualified for some reason, note that when posting the match results.

Overview
First of all, each fighter must sign up in this thread. (See form below).
Once sign-ups have concluded, a bracket will be drawn up following the karate tournament rules Fey is familiar with, so it is possible that some competitors will not have to fight in the early brackets and instead receive a by, depending on the number of competitors in a division.
You may enter as many Stormborn as you wish, as long as they are in the appropriate division:
Reavers/Captains: open to adolescents and adults who hold the rank of reaver or captain Freeborn: open to freeborn adolescents and adults who are not reavers or captains (including priestesses and lawspeakers) Youth: open to freeborn cubs Thrall: open to thralls of any age and species
Within the different divisions there are no distinctions made for age (or species, in the thrall division). If there are two thralls and somehow it ends up with a hyena pup defeating an adult ex-Firekin, think of it as an opportunity for creative thinking. (Was the ex-Firekin ordered to throw the match? Did the they take pity on the pup and let them score? Was it a malicious decision made so that the pup would have to fight someone even nastier in the next bracket?)
After receiving an assigned opponent, each fighter should make at least the first rolling post in the match RP so that a winner can be determined. (See notes below on non-posting behavior).
One of the fighters must post the outcome of the match in this thread. (See form below). Fey will not be hunting down match results, so if the results of a match are not posted before the next bracket begins, both fighters are disqualified and the fighter the winner would have faced will receive a by for the upcoming bracket.
You may get a head start on RPing upcoming matches if it is apparent based on the bracket who your Stormborn will be fighting next. (So if you won Match A and the winner of Match B has been determined, you and Match B's winner can get started on their match).

Fighting How-To
Please title each match as follows: [MATCH (letter from bracket)] Fighter Name x Fighter Name ex: [MATCH C] Harald Snaggletooth x Crymu
For every match each fighter will roll 5d4. Each die is taken as a separate round/point in the fight, with the goal to win 3 rounds/points first. For the purposes of this event, a match is the entire fight and a round is an individual roll within a match. Each match will have at least three bouts, but may have more depending on the rolls.
Thus, if Fighter A rolls 4, 1, 2, 3, 3 and Fighter B rolls 3, 2, 4, 1, 2 the points are 4:3, 1:2, 2:4, 3:1, 3:2. This means that Fighter A won the first bout, lost the next two, and then won the last two, making them the victor overall.
The rolled bouts are considered in order, so if Fighter B had won the first three bouts, the last two never actually took place, since Fighter B would have already won the requisite three points.
In the event of a tied round such as 2:2 it is considered No Point, and subsequent rounds are scored as usual. If there are somehow enough ties that neither fighter can be declared the winner, each fighter will roll 1d4 to continue the match for another round and carry on doing so until a winner can be declared.
If a combatant does not post within three days of the first post, the first poster is the de facto winner. But after a winner is determined, the match can be RPed at its own pace with no penalty to either fighter.
If neither fighter posts before the end of a bracket, both are disqualified.

I have a question.. With there being no breytast vindar, does the meta allow for the same movement between ranks as the BV? Ie, can thralls become freeborn if they win so many matches, or something? Nope. This is just a for-fun thing for people to show off their skills (or their thralls' skills). No rank changes will occur as a result of performance here.
