It was a lovely day for a stroll, if he did say so himself. Phosphor enjoyed walking around the Stormborn lands to meet new lions and to say hello to those he did know. For being an ex-demon he was pretty friendly, but then again he was in his old pride, too. So long as you stayed on his good side, he was as gentle as a lamb. His walk had another purpose too, though. He hadn't seen Ashta around much except in the mornings when he woke up and at night when he fell asleep. It wasn't like his Thrall to be away from the den so often, so he was curious as to what he was getting up to. He hoped he wouldn't have to bash anyone's skulls in for trying to take his friend away from him or for bullying him without need. Perhaps Ashta had finally made some friends! That would be nice. He paused by one of the pools for drinking to grab a quick sip of water, not terribly concerned with finding his friend quickly. He knew Ashta wouldn't go far, and it wasn't as if he hadn't seen him for days.

SilverLutz I hope it's ok if I throw Therese in too? XD Ashta couldn't believe his luck and how much his life had seemed to change in only a couple days. The quiet and gentle male had been introduced to a stunning female by a common aquantiance of both of them. He had been trying to get Therese to meet his beloved master since they'd met and struck a strong cord. Except it had never worked out; Phosphor had never seemed to be around when the pair stopped by the den. It was singularly frusterating. He wanted his master to approve of the female that had picked him as her mate.
Together, they had discovered they made an excellent hunting team. By unspoke consent the duo had behunt hunting to provide for three masters and their thralls: Ashta and his master, Therese and her master, and lastly Kisukari, who'd introduced them, along with her litter of 6 and master. With her cubs, it was hard for the other thrall to hunt for so many mouths. Usually a couple of antelope served them well, one shared between Ashta and Therese and the other whole one to Kisu. As they returned after one such hunt, happily laden by three carcasses, he chuckled softly at something she said.
He pulled up short though as a familiar dark pelt stood out to him. As a previous demon slave, and now a thrall, he was particularly aware of dark pelts and especially this one. "Master!" Ashta called, his voice muffled by the impala hanging limp in his jaws. He dropped it and shrugged the second carcass from his back, casting an apologetic look at his companion. The white male belly crawled up to the dark male drinking and waited patiently for him to finish and be noticed. Since she'd gotten to know him, Therese had enjoyed spening as much time with the timid male as she could. They both had their duties to their masters of course, but when those duties coinsided they had done them together. Like hunting. It made the activities so much more enjoyable. The female knew her chosen mate had wanted her to meet his master. Her belly fluttered each time they'd approached the den, but he'd never been there so it had been put off awhile long each time. She wanted to prove to Ashta's master that she would be a good mate for him, and hoped that he approved of her.
They had been very successful today. Therese was extremely proud of the hunting they could do. He had graciously offered to carry two of their kills back. She'd just made a funny remark to her partner. Always when they returned he became more timid, and she liked seeing him relaxed while they were out hunting where master eyes were unlikely to see them. She frowned slightly as he called out to someone before dropping his burdens and running to grovel before a dark, striking male. This was his master? She would never have picked him out from the crowds of reavers. Therese stood with the three bodies as she studied Ashta's master. He'd told her of the pride they'd come from. This was a demon?

Phosphor lifted his head as he heard a familiar voice and grinned when he saw who it was. "Ashta! I was looking for you. Sort of," he added as an after thought. He hadn't really been hunting him down, but rather passively glancing around for him. While it was true the aim of his stroll was to see if he could find his Thrall, it wasn't as if he'd be angry if he couldn't. "My my, you certainly brought in quite the haul," he said as he looked passed his Thrall to the three antelope and the female that had hung back. "Who is your friend?" magnadearel Yup! I just couldn't remember her name for the title XD

"I apologize for making you come find me. You were off when I came looking for you at the den." It would be presumptive of a slave to search his master down if he hadn't been called upon. Now was the moment of awkwardness though. And unfortunately it was in full view of everyone and not in the privacy of the den as he would have preferred.
"One of those is for you master." Ashta coughed uncomfortably, "um well.... actually..." She was still trying to fit the image she had with the lion she was confronted with. Therese knew she'd have to take matters into her own paws. She added her kill to the pile and stepped forward, she had no problem staring the reaver right in the eye. "Actually I'm his mate." Thrall she might be, but she wasn't going to let him tell her no. Therese stood firm with her head held high and tail waving like a banner in the wind. Given what Ashta had told her, perhaps this wasn't the best idea she'd ever had. He did a swift intake of breath as she blurted out the news. Ashta felt his eyes widen, although he still didn't look up at their faces. He only hoped Phos would be amused rather than offended.

Phosphor waved a paw in Ashta's direction, letting him know it was okay. It wasn't as if his other Thrall was a cub any longer and needed constant watching, Ashta had been told from day one that he could do as he pleased unless called upon. The other white Thrall - she had to be a Thrall if she was hunting with Ashta - moved in closer. Phos raised a brow in mild amusement at her bravery to look him straight in the eye, which was bold even for a Thrall here. He knew Thralls behaved differently from slaves back in the demon pride and he had come to accept it, although he still had that little niggling in the back of his mind that those with pale pelts were weaker and were always beneath him. "Mate?" he echoed, starting to laugh a little bit. It was clear from Ashta's reaction that this wasn't how he had wanted to spring the news on him, but the female was a feisty one, that much was certain. There wasn't anything wrong with that so long as it could be contained. "My my, it seems you've been busy the past few days, Ashta," he said, turning his gaze to his Thrall, the amused expression still there although his claws were digging into the soil as he spoke, indicating he wasn't fond of the way the female hadn't even bothered to ask, especially since she was a Thrall herself. "I'm quite glad you've found yourself a lioness that has some bite to her." Turning his gaze to the Thrall, he took a few steps closer to peer down at her before starting to move around her in a slow circle, inspecting her. "What is your name, and to whom do you belong?" he asked, needing the information out of necessity. If his Thrall and someone else's were to become mates he'd need to make sure the other lion was okay with it.

SilverLutz Poor Ashta. She is going to give him a heartattack. With the paw wave he knew the reason his master had been looking for him wasn't urgent. Which was good. He hated when he wasn't right there when Phosphor needed something. He did the best he could to anticipate his mater's wants as a proper thrall should. The white male remained on his belly and kept his head down. Therese was relatively on her own with his master. He was glad though that his master hadn't clawed her fur off for her attitude. She was testing him a bit. Her respect wasn't given simply due to one's rank; it was earned. So far, Therese liked what she saw. These two had a good relationship. Probably better than even her own with her master. The female grinned as Phosphor laughed. She stood relaxed while he examined her. Her head nodded toward him. "A friend introduced us. I'd been worrying I wouldn't know a good mate for me, but then I realized Ashta was perfect. I don't want to let him go." She said plainly, but respectfully.
"Therese sir. My master Ensis. I've already told him I'd found Ashta." She tilted her head as he came into view again.

"Ensis...Ensis...not sure I know an Ensis," Phosphor said thoughtfully as he stood before Therese again. "Hm. Well, if you've told him already and he's given you the go-ahead, then that's all I need to know." He moved in suddenly, surprisingly quick for a lion of his size. He was nearly nose-to-nose with the female, his two-toned eyes burning as they stared into hers. "We're sure Ashta has told you of the pride we came form," he said in a voice that wasn't his own. It was much deeper, much more sinister and dark. "And we're sure he's told you what we are. We don't take kindly to Ashta being abused, hurt, or disrespected in any way, shape, or form. If you are to be his mate, you must promise that you will never do anything to harm him, physically or otherwise." A cold grin that didn't reach his eyes crept across his face as he continued. "In our old pride, we were the ones that the bad slaves were sent to for punishment. We are skilled in the ways of torture and making you wish you could die. If we find out he's suffered...you will too." magnadearel Aaaaand Asmoday makes an appearance! Whenever Phos is referring to himself as 'we' you can assume Asmoday is talkin' >> Creepy guy.

SilverLutz Eeeeee I love it! =D Ashta woulda told her the stories, now she has proof! The meeting was going impressively well, all things considered. Then his master was nose to nose with Therese, and spoke in a voice he had not heard in quite some time. Ashta pressed himself even flatter to the ground and resisted the urge to squeeze his eyes shut. "Good day Master Demon," he whispered. One did not ignore a demon, not if one wanted to live anyhow.
It was horrifying. Except it was also almost funny. The demon was making Therese promise never to hurt him. Ashta was touched that both his masters cared about him enough to do so. "Thank you," he whispered even softer than before. Would Asmoday hear him? Maybe, maybe not. "I can have him come meet you if you like." She saw no reason to keep their masters separated. Maybe he'd recognize him when he saw him. It was quite a big pride after all. Then she found herself face to face with the lion faster than she expected and blinked. This. This was more like the stories Ashta had told her about, and made them come alive in her mind. She felt a shiver of a chill down her spine.
Therese lowered her eyes and replied respectfully, "He has. I promise I will protect him." She meant her words too. The female had seen how weak-willed the male was around others. She would be the one to stand up for him should the need arise.

'Phosphor' didn't pay any mind to the cowering Ashta, instead focusing his full attention on Therese. Her reaction pleased him greatly: it was obvious Ashta had told her how to react to a demon. "Good. He needs someone to watch out for him when we are not around," he said, his voice still a low, dangerous growl. That said, he turned to look at Ashta who was still on the ground and staring at the dirt. He walked over to him and stood over him for a few moments before leaning down to bump his head against the older male's. "Try not to look so glum, chum," he said, his normal voice back, the smile finally genuine. "I know Asmoday can be a bit intimidating but he has your best intentions at heart. Now," Phos said, lifting his head to look at Therese again. "I wouldn't say it's a pressing matter, I know not all who have Thralls care much for their private lives, but if a meeting could happen I'd be most delighted. And I'm sorry if Asmoday startled you. He's more protective of Ashta than I am," he said, chuckling softly. If Ashta hadn't been there to save him as a cub, Asmoday wouldn't have had a chance to live, either.

SilverLutz Would you be interested in rping Phos with Ensis? I could message mouse if ya like. Would you want the thralls there? He relaxed ever so slightly. Both those that were dear to him were deciding to get along. Now more than ever he was glad that he'd coached Therese on how not to piss off a demon, particularly his demon. It had taken some work, as she'd looked at him skeptically, but he'd gently convinced her it was worth it. Albeit he hadn't thought Asmoday would make an appearance quite so fast.
Ashta rumbled a deep happy purr as his master gave him an affectionate headbutt. "I know and I'm grateful. You both take better care of me thank I have rights to." Truly his master was special. Never had he regretted joining Phosphor with the Stormborn. She let out a long silent breath as the master backed up to his thrall. Therese felt she'd run down a zebra and then an antelope by herself. She looked up and smiled warmly at the master. "That's alright. I understand he needed to be sure." The female tilted her head slightly. "My master does have an interest in me. I will relay your request to meet though. Do you have a preferred meeting place?"
She smiled. "Demon he might be, in my eyes he still has a heart of gold." Suddenly the white female remembered something. "Would you care to pick your meal now?" Therese gestured with a paw toward the waiting carcasses.

"Oh no, any place is fine. And there's no rush," Phosphor said with a little nod before moving over to the pile of fresh meat, circling it before settling for the smallest one. He only had three mouths to feed after all: himself and his two Thralls. Perhaps there'd be more mouths to help feed in a few months time should this whole mate thing be taken to heart. "This one shall do just fine," he said, dragging the antelope away from the other two. "I won't hold you two up any longer." He glanced at Ashta, a knowing smirk on his face. "And just in case her master's den is too crowded and you'd like some alone time in a private place, I'm more than willing to donate our den to any extracurricular activities you two are looking to do. Oh, and," he added, glancing between them. "Should you end up with cubs I"m more than happy to claim them as my own so they may grow to be Freeborn rather than Thralls. Alternately, I'm willing to keep them under my protection as they grow and let them challenge me when they are of age to have their freedom." He had told Ashta a few times that if he ever wanted to be free all he'd need to do was ask, but the pale lion had been brought up a slave and it was all he really knew. Having that much freedom might make him lose his mind. magnadearel If you want we can do an RP with all four of them biggrin Also this was my last, you can wrap it up in the next one!
