True to his name, Rion had found himself in a rather interesting place. Wasn't it summer? He looked behind him towards the way he had come and then turned back to the tundra before him. His icy blue eyes took in the snowy covered landscape and it rather puzzled him. It wasn't often he came across lands such as this. Actually, he had NEVER come across a place such as thing. Interesting. He had a feeling he was near a pride, mainly due to the amount of tracks in the snow. That was honestly a no brainer. He was handsome AND smart! He should get a gold star. He decided he'd give this place a go and see what pride lingered here in it's frozen beauty. It wasn't every day he ran into snow in the middle of summer so he was quite enthralled with the idea of there being living creatures around.

Vera uncurled herself from her nap, stretching out in her den before heading outside. It was summer on the island, just as it was elsewhere, but unlike elsewhere there was snow on the ground. Vera was used to it, though, and took comfort in the white surroundings. It helped her blend in, even if others in the pride distrusted her for her snowy pelt. Shy as ever, she had learned to take the stares and whispers and let them roll of her back. She was a Princess, after all, she couldn't let what others said about her get to her. Not too much, at least. As she headed out, Vera turned her eyes in the direction of the lake that surrounded the island. The ice was very thin in many places, but there was one area where the water didn't flow as much that stayed pretty solid, enough so that their foragers could get across and hunt on the mainland. There was currently someone walking towards the island, a brown leopard from the look of things. As a Princess, Vera made it her job to know everyone and remember their names and she couldn't place having seen this male before. Usually it was a guard's job to intercept newcomers, but it didn't seem that anyone was around. She lifted her head and took a deep breath. She could do this! Go give this leopard a warm welcome. Trotting down a large hill that led to the lake, Vera gave herself a pep talk on the way to greet the male. You can do it, smile, don't be too friendly though, make sure you speak up, he's probably just lost, make sure you ask him if he's hungry- Before she knew it she stood before the leopard, alarmingly close. She froze on the spot, blue eyes wide in surprise at her own lack of attention. She quickly opened her mouth to say hello, but all that came out was a startled 'eek!'. Very smooth. "I mean! Welcome!" Not bad. "Ah...y-you must be tired or hungry, if you'd like to come with me I can bring you to our food stock, it's very safe, don't worry, and I'm very sorry I forgot to tell you my name, that should have been first...I'm Very. And this is the Zizimisha'Mwili. Oh dear..." Well, that could have gone a bit smoother.

It was as if the heavens were answering his thoughts because no more than a few minutes later he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. It took him a moment to realize it was a lioness walking down the hill towards him. Her pelt blended so beautifully against the backdrop that he had to blink once or twice to make sure he wasn't imaging in things. By this point he had stopped walking and had watched as she walked towards him. In his mind it was a slow motion sort of scene, wind blowing, everyone freezing and complete and total awkwardness it would seem. He watched as she got within a few inches of him she seemed to suddenly be aware she had gotten lost in her thoughts for she suddenly let out a very impressive eek. He was amused, though he wasn't going to laugh. He was quite taken at this point by his turn of events. He couldn't help but smile at her warmly and nodded his head. Had she said her name was Very? Or was she going to say something else and forgot? The Zizimisha'Mwili, sounded like an interesting place. He was definitely curious now, mainly because of how she was. It was cute, in a cute awkward kind of way. "Well, Very, you did say your name is Very right? My name is Besarion'Msafiri, BUT some like to call me something shorter as it can be a mouthful to say." He said with a small chuckle. "And yes, I am a little hungry and It's a pleasure to meet you." He said looking at her before looking around for a moment. "This is quite an interesting place you live in....." he said trailing off as he took in the sight around him.

Vera stood in place, her tail flicking back and forth in anxiety. Gods, she had made a fool of herself she was sure. The leopard before her wasn't laughing, though, so that was good. He obviously had enough manners not to. As he asked her about her name she winced. Gods...she really was a mess. "It...it's Vera, actually. I...I misspoke." Misspoke her own name, gods above, help her! "It's nice to meet you as well, Besarion'Msafiri. Is there a shortened version you prefer?" Come on, get those manners and all that practicing with her siblings to the front of her mind. She was a princess after all, she had to represent her family and the pride as a whole in a good way. She hadn't started off on the right paw, but hopefully she could get the train wreck back on track.

SilverLutz Man, I'm really liking his personality! "Well, I they do sound very familiar, well, Vera, I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance." He said with a small bow of his head. He wondered if he would catch the little joke he threw in there with the word, but if she didn't he wasn't too worried about it. He cocked his head slightly as she asked if there was a shorter version he preferred. He honestly hadn't ever really given it any thought. Oh goodness. "Rion, you can call me Rio as well if you like." He said after thinking of what he could go with. Besa sounded too girly, and Firi definitely sounded too girlie. Rion it was. "Have you lived here your whole life?" He asked her looking around the terrain curious about how it came to be like this.

"Rion it is," Vera said, catching his little play on words and smiling a bit. Oh good...he was joking with her, that was always a good sign. She turned back in the direction she had come, eager to get off the thin ice. Falling in wouldn't be very pleasant even though it was fairly warm today. "I was born here, yes," she said as she led the way to the island. "Born and raised." She glanced over her shoulder again with another tiny smile. This wasn't so bad! "Are you a rogue?"

SilverLutz What other plots did we have? I know we have Hawnu and P'xan sparring right now... -goes to look at her list- He liked the way his named rolled off her tongue and he followed in suit behind her as she lead the way to get something for his stomach. So she was born here in this interesting place, so that means she's probably not used to where he's from then. Perhaps he could show her some of the nice spots that were out there sometime, if they were in each others company long anyway. "This place is very unique and intriguing to me, as is it's residents." He said implying to her lovely coloration. He cocked his head slightly and looked back towards her as she asked him if he was a rouge. "Yes, though I do prefer to be called a traveler. It sounds more interesting than rouge. When you say that it makes me sound like some sort of a deviant." He said with a small wink.

"Ah...yes, I've been told our climate here isn't usual for the area in which we live," Vera said with a little nod. She had heard of other prides that lived in the snow and ice, but they lived in the mountains rather than on an island. It wasn't strange because of the weather, but rather the location and the weather. She relaxed a bit as her paws finally stepped off the ice and onto the snowy ground. Now she wouldn't have to worry about them falling through. "A traveler it is then," she said with a tiny smile. "Have you ever been to a place with snow before?" AstoriaFallen Is it my post in that one?

He listened intently as she spoke and padded along beside her as they walked from the ice to the snow covered ground. Indeed, where she was had an interesting phenomenon going on, though he really wasn't one to judge on such matters. His ears perked slightly when she asked if he had ever been to a place with snow. He honestly never had been in snow before, he had seen it and heard of it, but never been immersed in it quite like this. This was an entirely new ball game for him. "This would be my first time." He said looking at her with a small smile. "What of you? Have you ever been in a place that didn't have snow?" Now this he was curious to know about.

Vera smiled a bit as Rion confirmed he'd never been in snow like this before. It was always fun to see new members or passers by enjoying their first experience with this much snow. "Ah...no, I've never ventured from the pride," she said with a shake of her head. "The furthest I've gone is to the edge of the lake when it's completely frozen in the cold months. Well...colder than this months," she said with a tiny laugh. Wow, it was so much easier to talk to him now that she had gotten those initial jitters out of the way.

He nodded his head as she spoke. He wondered if she'd ever seen a place that wasn't full of snow. Perhaps he could come back sometime and take her somewhere nice. Though, he wasn't certain that this pride ventured far from it's home at all. ."Ah, I'm sure there is plenty to do around here though right?" He asked her as they continued on.
He began to think of what one could actually do in a place riddled with snow.

"Oh...I suppose there is," Vera said with a nod. "It's never dull, at least. There's storms half the year and the other half we have to make sure the ice is thick enough to cross, otherwise we're a bit stranded here. It's certainly a bit nerve wracking during the warmer months." She turned and motioned for the leopard to follow, not wanting to lose him as she led him deeper into the pride.
