Welcome, everyone, to the interactive game that is Roll to Dodge!. Here, you will experience a number of surrealistic events directed partially by you, partially by an unbiased council of dice and a whole heap of creativity. Let's get started and explain the basics, shall we?

Roll to Dodge! is a somewhat unique roleplay experience in that you don't create a character- you play as yourself. Yes, this is confusing when most roleplays want you to write posts in third person, but this is not a traditional roleplaying game. Now, once you have your character- yourself- your choices are constricted almost solely by your imagination. Do you want to blow up the moon? Find true love? Use another player as a baseball bat? Plant a seed and watch it grow into a great oak? All of these and much more are possible.

Before we can truly start, however, there must be rules. The rules of Roll to Dodge! are simple:
    • There shall be one action per player per turn.
    • Gaia Rating rules. Duh.
    • Reviving yourself takes a roll of 6 or higher.

Subject to change in case there is something absolutely vital that must be ruled out, but you get the idea. It's pretty free for all.

And with the rules out of the way, we come to the actually interesting part! You may have noticed that the game is called Roll to Dodge!. Why is it called that? Simple! For every action that you as a player make, I will roll a 6-sided die. The result of this die toss will determine the level of success you achieve- from devastating failure to groundbreaking success. In general, the formula goes like this:

1 - Epic Fail: The exact opposite happens
2 - Fail: You fail to complete the action
3 - Troubling Success: You complete the action, however not without trouble or damage.
4 - Success: You complete the action. That's it.
5 - Perfect Success: You complete the action well enough that you receive a boost from the outcome
6 - Overshoot: You complete the action so utterly thoroughly that something unintended happens.

Worth mentioning: There is no need or requirement to make use of Gaia's dice roll function at this point. All rolls will be provided by the GM independently unless there is a really good reason (like the player-generated roll leading to a more hilarious situation).

Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? It is! Try it out- come in, do anything, and see what happens!
Game-specific questions and anything that is not directly an action in the game may be directed to my PM or the Interest Check thread.

And here, the game begins!

Thornwick
DraculasLittlePrincess

Fiore di Giglio

You wake up in a grassy field. It doesn't appear to be a very specific field- mainly, it's grassy. Quite comfortable, if you think about it. At first sight, there appears not to be anything special on it but who knows what you might find if you look? The possibilities are endless!

A soft wind breezes by, leaving the blades of grass around you in disarray, rustling softly to one another. Go!

Watervoir
> Attempts to bake cookies to lure in comments.

You roll: 1
You deep-freeze a melon. No comment.

Looks around and yawns enjoying the feeling of the warm sun. "Five more minutes." I mutter turning over to go back to sleep.

You roll: 4
You mutter "Five more minutes", roll over and go back to sleep. You dream of a sheep. It's pretty.

Fiore di Giglio
> Tries to scout the place looking for other people

You roll: 3
You scout the place and see that there's a sleeping person nearby! Also, the place has lots of grass. It's a grassy plane, so to say. However, when you look up to scout the skies for other people, you find out that the sun is too bright! The light- it burns! (-1 to next roll)

A little blinded by the sunlight, cover her eyes trying to reach the sleepy person.

((Okay, I'm still a little fuzzy about all this but here goes...))

Heads for the village, down in the vale.

((Someone let me know if I'm totally going about this all wrong.))

> The grass is offensive to the eyes. A liberal application of homemade napalm is in order.

You roll: 5
Because you just happened to have a whole lot of homemade napalm on your person (who doesn't, really), you generously apply it to the grass. As an added bonus, you decide that the resulting discoloration is not enough and set fire to it.

Everyone must Roll to Dodge! the ensuing fireball!
    Ozenko

    You roll: 6
Cleverly utilizing the remaining napalm you have, you inverse the matter and immediately quench the fire, leaving a large black spot on the field of grass and a lingering, choking plume of toxic gas.

Thornwick
> Heads for the village, down in the vale.

You roll: 5
You head down to the Vale (hah, obscure references) and find a village! It's quite small, but very cozy. There seems to be a general amount of confusion going on when you arrive, possibly coming from the fact that everyone just saw a large fireball pop up overhead, on the grassy field. When the people see you, they hail you as a powerful magician who quenched the impending doom! (+1 to rolls involving people of the village)

Fiore di Giglio
> A little blinded by the sunlight, cover her eyes trying to reach the sleepy person.

You roll: 2 (-1)
After throwing a look at the sleepy person, you decide not to go any closer to them. In fact, you decide that you should get as far away from them as possible and purge the image of them from your eyes. Using cloth pins to keep your eyes open, you head off in the opposite direction- rather toward the slightly singed person wielding an empty barrel.

> Vacate the smog-filled area and observe the the vicinity for other landmarks, excluding the village. Also, stuff the sleeping person into the empty barrel and roll it out of the hazard area. (Conveniently forget to stop the barrel, of course)

The Little Magician yawns and stretches out in the soft grass. She wakes up to the tickle of it on her arms - not nearly as pleasant as one would think. Of course, even more unpleasant is the stench of gas that suddenly reaches down her nose and coats her lungs.

>> While fighting off a gag reflex, she tries to escape the cloud of gas.

> Stuff the sleeping person into the empty barrel and roll it out of the hazard area.

You roll: 2
The barrel turns out to be far too tiny to stuff someone into. Also, your head is feeling kind of woozy from the gas fumes and that pink elephant is looking at you in a funny way. You laugh.

Read for clarification!
I've removed part of your post on account of it being a string of multiple actions- marked with numbers here for your convenience.
Quote:
(1) Vacate the smog-filled area and
(2) observe the the vicinity for other landmarks, excluding the village.
(3) Also, stuff the sleeping person into the empty barrel and roll it out of the hazard area.
(4) (Conveniently forget to stop the barrel, of course)

I mentioned in the OP that in cases of multiple-action posts, only the last one would be counted (#4 does not qualify as it is a follow-up action). This is not entirely true, as I may disregard that rule to pick the action I find funniest.

Tunes14
> While fighting off a gag reflex, she tries to escape the cloud of gas.

You roll: 4
You escape the stinking, slowly dissipating cloud of noxious gas. Hooray!
Welcome to the game.

Thornwick
> Ego-fluffed by this praise, (the town mayor lays out plans to hold a parade in my honor.)

You roll: 2 (personal dice)
You find out that you don't feel flattered at all. Your ego bobs around happily but refuses to fluff out.

Read for clarification:
This is just to clarify that you have a boost to rolls involving villagers, not controlling villagers. You can get that one, too, but it's slightly harder. Remember, the person you control in this game is yourself!

An example of a roll involving villagers might be to marry one! Or make them help you ("With the local carpenter, build a house").

Quote:
Town Mayor
> Hold a parade in Thornwick's honor.

You roll: 5
There's a wonderful parade in the honor of the Great Thornwick! It attracts tourists and state-wide interest, making the village significantly more popular. Hooray!
