Feathers glistened in the early morning light as golden gaze sought out any movement. They were hungry, and Nephthys was too lazy to hunt for them today so Khaalida was going to do it instead.
You had better thank me for this later..... A hiss escaped gold beak as they clacked it slightly in annoyance. Raising a foot they ran their talons across the edge of their mouth, the eerie sound of the sharpness causing a chill to run down their spin and a wicked grin to form.
Swiftly their head turned, eyes narrowing, the scent and sound of someone warm grew closer, the sound of something clinking as they moved. It made them an easy target and the Avian spread their wings and took the sky silently as they moved forward to seek out their prey.
The wind shifted drawing the scent closer, enveloping them in the females rich scent. Yes, she would do nicely. Not that they had seen her yet, but they knew she'd taste good regardless from the scent alone.
Dipping and swooping through branches was annoying them but the effort paid off and a brown and pink figure popped into view and they dove towards the 'open' back of the female, talons out stretched, hoping to gain purchase upon the scaled hide. Though ultimately would likely come up short, but they hadn't thought that through all the way, they were hungry and hunger made them brash.
