RCCaughtem "I have no issue with that." Ryan says as he finishes getting ready. He was still a bit taken back by the whole series of events that had led to this moment. But what choice was there? Let the status quo remain? Not after everything he and Lykas had been through...and still had to go through. "Let's roll, Lykas." the channeler says as he walks over the hybrid. Lykas nodded and called out his Gardevoir. "Mykel, I need you to Teleport us to the place I'm thinking of right now, ok?" He told his Gardevoir.
"Sure thing, boss!" Mykel replied, focusing on Lykas' mind for a moment to get the location he was taking them to. "The middle of the ocean?"
"Yes." Lykas replied confidently. "There's a reef just below the water. " he assured the Embrace Pokemon. Mykel nodded, silently agreeing to to trust Lykas. Eyes beginning to glow, Mykel reached out mentally and whisked the group away. In an instant, they would reappear in Hoenn, dropping into the water an inch or so into a sandbar just beneath the surface of waves.
"Well, we're here..." Lykas announced. "We're not far from Pacifidlog town, at least. Thanks, Mykel." Recalling the Gardevoir, he would then pull out Nuregami's ball and toss it out, revealing his uniquely colored Milotic. "Do you want to call him, or should i?" He asked. "Or... should we both?"

Ryan blinks the moment they arrive. He still wasn't 100% used to travel via transportation. He then sees Lykas call out his Milotic. Ryan smirks and calls out his own uniquely colored Milotic, Theia. "Both. I have a feeling it might not work otherwise given his condition if Sub is to be fully believed." Ryan says as he pulls out his Azure Bell.

Requiem of Whyspers RCCaughtem Ryan blinks the moment they arrive. Lykas nodded to Ryan's statement, silently agreeing. If Varuna was hurt S badly as it sounded, it might take him believing both of his students needed him to come calling. "Nuregami, use Rain Dance." He told his Pokemon. Nuregami nodded and looked to the sky. Letting out a soft cry as clouds gathered above them. Gentle rain began to fall as Lykas took his Azure Bell in hand and, watching Ryan, he began to ring it in time with the Channeler. The sound of the bells' ringing echoing out over the sea and mingling with the sounds of rains and crashing waves. The hybrid had to admit it was always a beautiful sound.
Ryan would make sure to keep in sync with Lykas in ringing their Azure Bells. So much time had passed since he had last done this on his own. Last time he had, was back in Undella Bay. And to say the mood between him and Varuna then had been tense would have been a grand understatement. It was that training quest that had started Ryan's doubts about the motives of his former teacher.
Ryan was starting to get impatient. What was keeping Varuna? usually, he would have been here by now. "I've got a bad feeling about this." Ryan would mutter just loud enough for Lykas to hear above the ringing of the two bells.

SubonicXP As the rain poured and the Azure Bells chimed an unsettling feeling would wash over both Hybrid and Channeler as they waited for their master. The air seemed to grow heavy and all sound seemed to become muffled. The rain, it grew heavier and heavier by the second and both students were certain this wasn't the work of the Rain Dance. Their anticipation would be broken by an approaching whistling sound as something began to fall from the sky towards them. They would have a moment to make out the falling object and would note it to look like a Starmie. The Mysterious Pokemon would violently spin as it plummeted towards the ocean in front of them, eventually making a fierce impact as it sent up a massive spray of water in display over exactly how fast it was falling. Before they had a chance to check up on the Starmie a flash of light could be seen under the churning water followed up by a Kabutops leaping out of the ocean and taking a long deadly swipe at both Ryan and Lykas in one swift Slash. The Kabutops' shell was heavily scarred, dented, and battle warn to prove just exactly how ancient and experienced it was. This was no doubt Varuna's Pokemon but why it was attacking them was another question. It was not the time to ponder that question for long as the Shellfish Pokemon further displayed its prowess as it utilized its impressive speed, especially in the rain, to literally run across the churning water and further pursue Ryan and/or Lykas if they evaded it. It was angry, very angry.
Ryan was rather confused upon seeing the Starmie but was no stranger to this Kabutops. He had only seen it in passing, but by it's scarring, Ryan knew exactly whom it belonged to. Ryan and Theia slip away from the treacherous Slash but running wasn't an option. "I guess Varuna is taking the fight first, ask questions far later approach! Not that I can blame him!" Ryan shouts to Lykas. "Theia, push it back with Hydro Pump. If he is going to use the rain, so are we." Ryan says as he turns to his Milotic. Theia nods and with a rustle of her silvery scales, unleashes an accurate and powered up Hydro Pump at the Kabutops. Ryan was already considering a second pokemon to help out if this first push back was indeed futile.

Lykas barely managed to avoid the Kabutops' Slash. Having never actually seen any of Varuna's Pokemon before, he didn't recognize the fossil Pokemon as belonging to the ancient hybrid. "Nuregami, use Ice Beam!" Jumping back as the uniquely-colored Milotic fired a chilling blast at the bladed ancient, he'd add a Giga Drain of his own to the barrage. His hands took on a green light as he attempted to draw orbs of energy from the Shellfish Pokemon.
"We need to stop it and find out where Varuna is if they're the one's answering the call." He told Ryan, figuring it wasn't really something that needed saying but saying it anyway.

SubonicXP Ryan would overestimate the accuracy of Hydro Pump in rain, while it was powerful it was no more accurate than normal and with Kabutops' speed it was fairly simple to avoid the incoming attack. However it did serve a purpose as it kept the Shellfish Pokemon on its 'toes' as it twirled around and jumped up and over the incoming Ice Beam, making it a vulnerable and easy target for Lykas and his Giga Drain as he pulled from it several orbs of energy. Upon landing the ancient Pokemon panted in pain but did not give up just yet. "Hum mara gurune suraká¹£ita karisa." It uttered in some sort of Pokespeech or other language. Both Ryan and Lykas heard it but neither would truly understand what it said. Its language sounded old, very old. One thing it confirmed however was that the Kabutops was intelligent and if they could get it to stop attacking they may be able to learn more of Varuna or at least what it is going on and why they are being attacked. With a burst of Aqua Jet the Kabutops would glide across the water at blinding speed, making a C-shaped path to arrive behind Lykas where it would then proceed to try and 'grab' him with its scythes and then proceed to bite down and suck back its stolen energy with a Leech Life. Whether or not he was successful in taking a bite or even grabbing Lykas the Shellfish Pokemon would still follow up by ramming Lykas with a Harden empowered Headbutt to send him flying in Ryan's direction. "What the ~/~ does that mean?" Lykas demanded of the Kabutops, completely unable to understand what the thing said. He somewhat recognized the language, however vaguely, from what he had seen in the ancient ruins beneath Undella Bay. He hadn't a clue what it meant but at least he was aware enough to recognize it as being a language.
Before he had much other chance to do anything to stop the Pokemon, he found it racing around him at a speed he wasn't sure he could stop but he had an idea. Thinking, now, about what it as doing, he stood his ground, arms crossed in front of himself to take the Aqua Jet empowered ram. He'd catch the Shellfish Pokemon as it slammed into him, grabbing it's arms with his tentacles as it began to try and bite him and tried to consciously activate his ability while he blew an Icy Wind directly into the Water-type's face. He'd be cut off by the Harden-empowered Headbutt and while the impact was certainly there, he'd simply stare at the crustacean after it was done, hoping that Cursed Body would have taken it's effect by now. "Was that supposed to hurt?" He asked, glowering at the Pokemon, unfazed by the Normal-type move thanks to his partial Ghost typing.

Lykas nodded to Ryan's direction. He'd been planning to check up on Kabutops as soon as they got it to calm down anyway. Something told him there was more to this ancient beast's actions than Varuna giving it orders. If that had been so, it would have known better than to use a Normal-type move against him. It might have worked on Ryan, probably fairly well given that he was entirely human, but on himself? A trainer like Varuna would have called for something more effective if he was actually trying to fight.
Walking the short distance across the reef, Lykas dove into the open sea and swam over to Kabutops, carefully grabbing hold of it and pulling it with him back to the reef, where he'd lay it on it's back and gently attempt to awaken it, pulling a Revive from his bag and crumbling it across the Pokemon's body to absorb the medicine. Once it was awake, he'd speak carefully. "I don't know if you can understand me but we're Varuna's old students. We're looking for him so we can help him." He tried explaining to the Water-type. "My friend is checking on Starmie, over there." He added, pointing to where Ryan had gone to check up on the other Pokemon that had come crashing down from the heavens. Something that certainly seemed out of sorts for a Pokemon that normally dwelt near the seafloor.
