Kintori had been wandering along, minding her own business, when she spotted a soquili in the distance. She squinted, seeing that it appeared to be a long-maned stallion. With her general aversion to stallions, learned through two very faulty relationships with them, she sneered a bit. That wasn't a facial expression her muscles were used to, but it came to her nonetheless. It was her general reaction to the male sex, nowadays. Even so, she was close enough that she couldn't quite resist staring at him a bit. He had this... this pretty quality to him that felt so familiar.
As she walked, she kept her slate gray eyes trained on him - he didn't seem to be noticing her. Then, as her eyes slid down from his mane, she noticed a distinct marking on his shoulder. Kintori's eyes narrowed, darting to his dark, feathered, leathery wings - she'd seen those wings before. And that marking. 'Holy..." The mare blinked and shook her head, not quite processing what she was seeing. Was that... was that Skaalbjorn's blood? It couldn't be, but it also couldn't not be, with those distinctive features that had been burned into her brain. Before she realized what she was doing, she was angrily trotting his way. "You!" she called, not really thinking about what she'd do next.

Kintori, personally, felt as if she was being level-headed and rational. So when he apathetically pointed out that she, in fact, did not know him, her brain went, well, a little haywire. She squinted as she drew close to him, focusing hard on the distinctive shoulder markings and those feathery and leathery wings with the talons on the tips. Wings like those that had once held her close, keeping her warm and sheltered from a storm.
Her mind whirled at a rate previously unknown to her, not actively deciding to speak but instead blurting out. "Oh, no, I may not know you, but... your father. Skaalbjorn. Or maybe he's a brother, or an uncle..." she faltered, her previous anger at the sight of the familiar-looking stallion fading a bit. That was before she started focusing on the fact that he could, in fact, be Skaal's son. And if he was, that meant that he was produced with the mare that Skaal left her for. Her mind was fuzzy on the details, so many years had passed by, but she'd always imagined that she was a bright and beautiful mare. And, looking at the stallion before her, he seemed like a perfect mix between Skaal and the beauty that she pictured being more worthy of Skaal's heart than herself.
Kintori shook her head to rid herself of the nasty thoughts, training her eyes back on his face. He really was a striking stallion, which only made her more sure that he must have been fathered by Skaalbjorn. There was no way he was anything but his... his son. She glared at him, awaiting a response while not really knowing what to do next.
