Celestial blessing on the smaller shecat did not do her any favors. That blue stood out against everything around her. She'd say the same about Forestclan blessing, this wasn't a slight on Starclan. There was plenty else to slight them for other than the blessing.

Having fought the smaller shecat many times, Shadowstar was eager to see how far she'd grown since their last encounter. Meowing to the other cat, she hunkered down before exploding forward, 9 pound furry bullet.

Sparrowflight didn't want to be there, she didn't want to be battling the new leader of her past clan, even if the clan looked different in name and members. Even so, it still stung. She watched her leadership perish and was forced out of her home. Now other slept where she once did...

This cat wouldn't take no as an answer though. Sparrowflight had learned that much during her time with the other. She'd do it, but she couldn't say her heart was in it. She wanted to hate the other, but knew it hadn't all been her... She'd just been the one the cats trusted to carry on the leadership. No, she was just doing what she was called to-

The fight had started! The smaller shecat lowered herself and exploded out of the way as well. She wasn't fast enough and was knocked to the side. She turned on her paws and tried to swing herself up top the bigger cat, claws ready to dig in and hold on.

Few training partners offered the challenge that Sparrowflight did. She was fast but the smaller shecat was faster. The fights taught her a lot when they were of the same clan.

Now this was a chance to meet up with her old clan mate and keep checking up on her. Here she could keep training her to help her get stronger and try to keep the clan bond alive through the separation.

Suddenly an angry hedgehog on her back, Shadowstar could only flail working on knocking the cat off. This was not a great fighting spot for her. Clever of Sparrowflight though.

This was all too familiar and it almost made her sick. It was like the two were back home as if nothing had happened to tear their clan apart. There was a twinge of guilt. Should she even be here with the other working like this?

Sparrowflight was shocked that she had landed the move and that it had worked! She found herself uptop the bigger she-cat and dug claws in in order to hold herself there. She clenched her jaw as the other tried to buck her off, but she found herself able to hold on. When there was a break in the bucking she dug her teeth into the back of the other's neck and hoped she'd manage to continue to hold on through the other's reaction to the bite.

Still leaping around trying to get the giant flea off her back, Shadowstar couldn't hold back a yowl when Sparrowflight bit harder. Oof this hurt! But the jumping around wasn't working so next step was to body slam the attacker, Shadowstar stopped jumping around and threw her body to the left violently to try and knock the other cat off that.

Sparrowflight screeched as the other managed to find a way to rid themselves of her. She felt herself being torn away and scrambled to find paws under her. Not only did they manage to get her off, but land quite a bit of damage as well. She growled angrily and attempted to swap a clawed paw at the other while she recovered from her own move.

This fight became a far more painful lesson then she was expecting. It took her longer to shake it off from the truama of that last attack. Oh she'd be feeling that one for a long time!

More half hearted then it really should be, Shadowstar made another swipe at the other shecat. With measured movements, the dark leader did not crouch instead risked being taller to avoid what had happened.

Sparrowflight was grateful for the break. She dodged the paw easily and took another moment to gain her ground again. Seems that ride had tossed them both for a hissy.

Feeling a bit better, she attempted a dive at the other's feet since she was trying to stand so tall. Might try to knock her down a level or two!

This type of battle she was familiar with, memories of the fights with Exotichunt taught her about reacting to tactics like this. Rather than try to out right dodge, she jumped up in place to let gravity do the work for her.

After all, her friend and former clanmate was right there to catch her fall.

Sparrowflight slid to a halt as the other jumped... up? Her head shot up just in time to see the other cat coming down on her. She puffed up and put her speed to the test, running out from under the other. Had she... really just done that? Her tactics were getting stranger and stranger!

She slowed down again, lowering herself, tail whipping behind her. This battle was going on for some time now. How much more would it take until either was satisfied and would move on? She took off again, trying to run around the other and attack her sides.

Oof that one rocked her to the side, her speed was failing fast. Hard to admit it, but it was also why she sought out Sparrowflight. Besides being a treasured friend, there was no cat faster than this shecat.

Trying to keep up with her speed was just not going to work. With a deep sigh, Shadowstar decided to try something new. She stopped trying to avoid the other cat. Rather, she waited patiently for the other one to strike and when she did, pop right on the head.

Sparrowflight felt a surge of pride at that last attack. She slowed on her paws enough to earn herself a pop on the head and leaped backwards in surprise of it. She sat back staring at the other for a moment. "Is this just a game to you?" she asked softly. No attacks came.

Shadowstar looked at her with a head tilt. Wasn't it a game? Blinkiing a few seconds she formulated her answer as best she could. "Of course it is. These practice battles are the only time I can see you any more, my dear friend. Your speed and power always amaze me. I enjoy being able to grow stronger with you and watch you become better every time. Do you dislike this so?" Her ears folded back a little. Had she misjudged the time spent as bonding when it wasn't? That just cracked her heart
