CHRIS' OWLs
Core Classes
Astronomy : P
- Chris could easily say Astronomy was not any interest of his. It was as far as he was concerned boring and completely useless for anything in the long run.
Still he had to take the class and therefore the exam. He studied sure but nothing really stuck enough to get more then a Poor Grade on his OWL exam.
Charms : E
- Charms was not Chris’ strong suit. However, he refused to give up on it just because it wasn’t one of his best subjects.
If he wanted to do anything in the field of law enforcement, he was going to need a decent grade. Putting in the effort he managed to Exceed Expectations which was good enough for him.
Defence Against the Dark Arts : E
- Chris wanted to do well in defence for obvious reasons. As such he worked hard on his studies to pull off a decent grade.
He wasn’t horrid in the subject nor was he stellar at it. However, that didn’t mean he didn’t have the talent and the willpower to Exceed Expectations in the long run.
Herbology : O
- Surprisingly Herbology was just one of those subjects that Chris happened to be extremely good at. Plants were something he followed.
The information wasn’t completely hard to recall, and he at least found magical plants interesting enough.
So, when it came time to do his OWL exam, he was more then prepared to gain an Outstanding grade.
History of Magic : P
- History was Chris’ least favourite class for so many reasons. 1. It was boring 2. Been there done that 3. Lectures... 4. Did he mention boring?
In any case, he was no good at hiding his dislike for history. It was no surprise when he landed with a Poor grade.
He might have done worse if not for the fact the he felt the need to at least try to make it look like he was making a real effort.
Potions : E
- Chris struggled with potions. It was probably his third or fourth worst class overall.
As such he had to try his best to do well in order to get where he wanted to go. Putting in the effort he managed to Exceed Expectations.
It was a relief to him since he really didn’t want to plead his care to Professor Whitethorne about his need for advanced lessons.
Transfiguration : E
- Chris was surprised with his ease at learning Transfiguration spells. That being said he studied hard and managed to Exceed Expectations.
Had he not been pushing himself in other classes he probably would have done better. Luckily though an EE was all he needed to continue in the subject.
Electives
Care of Magical Creatures : A
- Magical Creatures was a class Chris had liked the sound of. He’d also like the many creatures they got to deal with.
Though to be fair it wasn’t overly hard to do his homework. The lengthy papers were less then ideal. Luckily, he managed an Acceptable Grade during his OWL.
Cursebreaking : O
- Chris found Cursebreaking to be a useful subject even for law enforcement. It wasn’t required but who knew when it might come in handy.
So, he studied hard and managed an Outstanding Grade. Great for him since he could continue in the subject.
Ghoul and Ghost Studies : A
- Ghost Studies was well boring. The only thing that kept him going was that it wasn’t a been there done that scenario.
Plus, there were actual classes where practical means came in. At least he managed an Acceptable Grade by the end and he’d never have to deal with the class again.
Healing : A
- Chris had not wanted to take Healing. However, with a father like David Avery he had no choice in the matter.
Taking the class, he tried his best to do at the very least okay with the basics. If he was going to get hurt at least he could fix the little stuff.
Managing an Acceptable grade, he was hopeful that would satisfy his father.
Muggle Studies : E
- Muggle studies the class his mother expected him to take. Apparently, everyone in the Grandpa George’s world needed to take it.
It was a weird concept, but he wasn’t going to complain seeing as it wasn’t as complicated as Healing.
Coming out of the OWL Exceeding Expectations Chris was for the most part very pleased with himself.
Wandless Magic : E
- Wandless was just one of those classes one needed if they didn’t have a wand. Chris felt that if you lost your wand, you’d need to be able to defend yourself some other way.
So, with great effort he attempted to get a decent grade on his OWL. Luckily, he landed himself an EE for his efforts.
