Grendel had left the temple on some kind of business. Ravnos had escaped the rope and wandered through the many rooms and halls, still unsure about how to navigate the temple to get where he wanted. He needed to find their room soon otherwise he would be sleeping on a couch somewhere. The pull of sleep was a bit stronger today than most days before.
He had been able to stay awake longer after Grendel had remade him but he still needed to rest. Ravnos climbed stairs, opened doors to dark rooms. And after what had seemed like forever he had finally found their room. He was pretty exhausted by this point.
Letting out a grateful sigh he stepped into the room. Removing his shirt and the fabric twined through his hair. Settling both items on the back of a chair before he walked to the edge of the bed and flopped face first into the soft blankets and mattress. Letting it envelope him momentarily before he moved to grab a pillow. Particularly Grendel’s pillow. Wrapping his arms around it, breathing in the God’s scent that lingered there as his green eyes began to slip closed with weariness.
Little did he know what awaited him.

A warm breeze flitted across Ravnos’s face.
Slowly his eyes opened and he let out a light yawn. Somehow he had made it outside? Had he not made it to bed? Or had Grendel brought him outside for some reason. The latter seemed unlikely. The Fod usually left him where he slept undisturbed.
The sound of crying reached his ears and the Disciple sat up straigh and scanned the garden infront of him. His gaze finally settling on a large fountain where it seemed a small boy with red hair was standing on the lip of the base that kept all the water in. Tiny, but loud cries seemed to be coming from the water.
Ravnos quickly got to his feet and crossed the clearing. The boy looked at him, a rather broody and familiar look on his face. As soon as Ravnos peered into the basin he spied a little girl standing waist deep in the water. Her face red from crying.
“Papa brother…” She sniffed hard. “Pushed me into the water!”
“We we’re playing pirates and she had to walk the plank.” The boy chimes in in a rather matter of fact tone.
Right. He had brought the children outside to burn off some energy. Reaching in he lifted her up and out of the water to sit on the edge of the basin. Ravnos removed the cloth from around his waist and wrapped it around her as she began to shiver. “What has Papa told you about playing on the fountains?”
“He said not to.” The boy replied. “But we were playing pirates!” He added.
Raising a hand he reached over and ruffled the boy’s red hair. “You could have really hurt your sister. I think we should shelve pirates for now.” Leaning down he lifted the girl up into his arms and held his hand out to the boy who tentatively took it. Unsure if he was in trouble or not but he hopped down from the fountain.
“Come on. It’s nap time.” Both the children protested. There were several ‘I’m not tired s’ and ‘I don’t wannas’. He couldn’t help chuckling.
But then the air changed suddenly as he was walking back towards the door to the temple. It felt hot and the ground below him seemed to fall away as it lifted up into the air. He lost his hold on the boy and he was torn away from him. His other hand instinctively tightening around the girl.
The world around him went red and bursts of scarlet light blinded him.
And then it went dark.

The sound of rocks smashing against each other is what woke Ravnos. His head was pounding. He pressed his hand against it and when pulling away he saw blood on his palm.
The sky was awash in a scarlet light giving everything a blood red hue. What happened? Was the temple being attacked? Of course they would while Grendel was away.
And then the sudden realization caused him to sit up a bit too fast. Ravnos clutched his head as pain shot through it. And as he sat up he was met with the tear streaked face of the little girl. She was saying something but his ears were ringing so anything she said was lost until finally it went away. “Papa brother is with the red lady! She scares me Papa but brother says she is nice!”
He blinked, green eyes confused by her words. The red lady? Who the ******** was that and why was the boy with her? Was all this her doing. Ravnos turned his head to look towards the temple. It had been destroyed. Nothing but a pile of rubble stood in its place. The place that she and Grendel called home. They had built and decorated it together and now it was gone. But the memories they made there could never be taken from hiim.
“Papa!” The little girl called again. Clinging to his shirt as she shook like a leaf.
“Ravnos….” The voice slithered into his ear. Like poison, just it using his name made him sick. Turning his head he saw a shadowed figure, it was hard to make out any features. It seemed like living shadows themselves. At its side stood the boy. The pair holding hands or what he could only assume was holding hands. He couldn’t understand what was going on. Who was this red lady? Why was the boy so friendly with her?
Nothing made sense. He must have had a concussion.
“Ravnos.” The voice was sweeter. He climbed to his feet, pushing the little girl behind him. Eyes locked on the boy, his gaze never leaving him. Ravnos’s jaw set in a hard time.
“Who are you?” He demanded. The question met with laughter.
“You know who I am.”
“The Scarlet Queen.”
“Yesssssss…” Her voice hissed the word out between clenched teeth and dark red lips.
“What do you want?” His brows furrowed as he pondered how he could get to the boy before anything happened but he still had to keep the forl safe.
The shadowy figure glanced down at the boy. “I already have what I want. It will lead me to what I need.”
“And that is?”
“Grendel out of the picture. You Cainites have had your fun. It’s the time of the Kuei-Jin now.” A wide smirk parted those red lips and the figure began to float off the ground, pulling the by up into the air along with it. Ravnos blanched and he ran forward where they had been standing.
“Oh, don’t worry Ravnos. I have something in mind for you as well. I have something in mind for all the Disciples.”
“Papa….” The boy’s voice reaching his ears right before the pair disappeared. His eyes widened in disbelief. Falling to his knees he felt as if everything were falling apart. The temple was gone, the boy was taken.
The little girl scampered up to him, clinging to his shirt and wrapping her arms around his neck. “Papa where did brother go with the scary lady?”
He couldn’t answer her question because he just didn’t know/
