It was quiet in the Disciples’ home. His Tomb, full of Bookcases of ancient texts, trinkets, and other baubles. Deep underground in Hemlock but not so deep to reach the catacombs. No light could enter at any given time the only entrance known was a bit of a trek. The walls were draped in dark fabrics with gold hems to soften the cement walls. It had a dim glow from a few lanterns spaced around giving a warm glow. The Disciple stirred on silk sheets and plush pillows, he rolled over and groaned. Without even opening an eye he reached out looking for something, someone but only met with another pillow. He tossed it out into the room annoyed. He had too much, and he knew it. The only thing worth anything in this space was the collection on the shelves. The rest frivolous only used for barter material, some clans had eye for such things and sticky fingers. It was something of a home as well as a place for the clan to gather, only those trusted and those who could enter at a whim could get to. His thought was to live as he pleased till it was time to forsake it all just as he would have any followers, indulge and release all those chains put upon you from false Gods. That time was not now however, he still had duties and needs to fulfill in in the meantime. There was one need he was searching for at this moment.

"On the other side, Abanaub," Kemat hissed, stretching in her place within the Disciple's bed. This was where they often did their plotting. And, when the time was right for it, other things that required much less talk. What the Disciple wanted in this moment could be either. Sensuous and poised, draped as if meant to be there and only there, Kemat regarded her sleepy sire, a fringe of deep red hair slipping across her face. Although one might have questioned Grendel's choice, Kemat certainly knew her sire better than that. Although he also indulged in all manner of vices, his focus on the clan was like none other. Very little was done that was not done in the name of expansion for the clan and for their great cause.

Abanaub flipped himself back over slowly, sheet draped just barely on him anymore after moving so much, not much left for the imagination the Disciple having shed every last bit of garb and gold before bed. He was bare but for the few gold hoops in his ears and the tattoos that stood out in contrast to his dusky pigmentation. "Kemat" He whispered huskily. "We don't have anything pressing matters to attend?" He hoped as he wrapped an arm around her to drag her close against him. Flicking a forked tongue out teasingly. His hungry gold eyes just slits in his ophidian state.

He had another Disciple visit him recently, sure he garnered some favor with him having handed over some information he had been seeking, that would be useful later. He would seek out a few others himself soon. He would have to tell Kemat more later.

As Abanaub flipped over, Kemat slide toward him. It was easy to slip into his arms when he reached for her. Quirking a brow, she stared up at him. "We do not," she agreed, running her fingers through his hair. "Not yet." Although with the way their liaisons tended to go, there was every chance that it would turn into business.

... Eventually. For the time being, Kemat had rather more important things to do. She dragged the Disciple down into a kiss, her own simmering golden eyes meeting his the moment just before their lips met. The elder kept a tight grip on Abanaub's hair, giving vent to a little growl.

Abanaub’s chest rumbled as he growled in return firmly pulling her against his body. He pressed his mouth into hers aggressively, licking her lips for entry. He never complained about her being rough, in fact welcomed it.

Had it been anyone else they would not have been waking up beside him. He would not just let anyone stick around, or in her case stay an undetermined amount of time, saying she also lived there wouldn’t be entirely wrong. They never really spoke of it, it just was the way it was and it worked out for him.

He broke away for only a moment pulling her down pinning her down beneath him. His white hair falling freely casting deeper shadows on his face, his eyes eager and hungry. He hovered above, bracing with one arm, tracing along her hairline with his free hand before in turn reaching to grab the back of her head and hair colliding lips together once again.

—-

Abanaub had finally dressed in his shendyt, and taken to siting on a chaise. Quite ready for anything at this point. He thought about hunting, checking in with liaisons, research, anything and everything. He was not one to tire after all as long as he wasn’t distracted.

Never once had the subject of Kemat-not-exactly-living-here come up. Kemat had not brought it up... nor did Abanaub bring it up. That suited them both just fine. As it was, business as usual meant business together, for the elder worked directly for her Disciple. He was her sire as well as her leader, and that was fine for the former chantress. In the elegant yet somewhat sheer sheath dress that had long been her customary garb, the vampire observed her sire coolly.

"Well, I should tell you that I heard from my contact within the Ventrue recently," she said smoothly, her voice low and smoky as always. Though it might be said to be an affectation, it was far more likely the result of her former life within the court. One could wear out one's voice, even when one had tremendous healing abilities, which Kemat did.

Abanaub leaned back into the corner of his seat, his arms on the rest and backing. He was not fully garbed as he normally was, there was no need to adorn himself at present. He had no audience to impress upon so just covered where it mattered he stayed. He would just stay in undress with Kemat's company but then it would be back to distractions. Can't have that.

Satisfied and ready to listen he nodded as he gestured to her to come sit with him. He had kicked his legs up but let one down to free a spot for her to join. "Tell me all about it, habibti." Using a term of endearment he reserved only for her.

Settling onto Abanaub's leg in a typical fashion, Kemat began her report. "The Disciple is still distracted by many beauties," she said, leaning slightly against his shoulder. "Recently an old club re-opened, with the name 'Sin Bin'... and with the Prince's blessing. A certain old friend of yours is active again, as well." 'Friend' could hardly be the term there, but he knew very well what she meant. "According to my contact, the new Toreador Disciple is enchanted by Grendel."

Some might think of these things as small, useless information. However, wherever they could drive a wedge or slink into the ranks was of use to the Followers of Set. Something Kemat had long since learned. Even as a chantress she had had listening ears for even the slightest gossip. The position had been invisible. In the modern era, she used her talents for far more, but these little tidbits could be used. "Was there anything in particular that you wanted to know, hayati?"

He slid his arm around her, he was listening even with a wandering hand. "Fruitful as always." there was no such thing as useless information to him. Anything and everything could be twisted to their advantage. It was their way after all, any small step was still a step in their direction. The more he knew the easier it would be to slink in to some degree. They were not very trusted after all.

"Who else is awake? I should make a visit to some, see how they fair." He already had one surprise visit since he became Disciple. "Ravnos came by last you were out." Since bringing up Grendel that reminded him of the other Disciple's visit. He was also intrigued by the Sin Bin wondering if it would be worth a visit, you could hear a lot gossip around places like that. Though himself walking in might cause a stir, so possibly it was another task to find someone to go in his stead.

Leaning effortlessly into Abanaub's hold, the vampire contemplated her sire's question, nestling absently where she'd settled. "Hmm... Grendel has tapped new Disciples," she said, pondering her words carefully. "There are rumors that the woods grow dangerous these days, though they have ever been active. I think... no, I am sure that the old wolf has awakened. The Crone never slept... that I am aware of." Who all of Grendel's new Disciples were, she did not yet know. Not entirely.

"The mad man has been cast from his throne, only to be replaced with another." There were indeed many things to contemplate, many things to relay. "The Sirens have a new lady at their fore, and very much awake, at that." She would need to do a little digging of her own to find out greater detail on the newly tapped Disciples.

Suddenly, she paused, glancing up at her Disciple. "Oh? Did he? I suppose I should have recognized his smell." The waft of clove, cinnamon, marshmallow, and some other herb should have given him away. But perhaps Kemat had been a little too focused on her own work and... certain distractions... to take note of that.

"I may have dulled his lingering smell on purpose." He had in fact lit some extra frankincense and myrrh. He was not much for cloves. The room was usually full of incense. Sage, Sandlewood, any woodsy scent as well as their own.

He grinned and kissed her, he couldn't help it as she looked up. Short but firm. "He was on a search and just waltzed in from the shadows as I was laying." He was amused the disciple had shown up with him less than looking productive. "He was searching for information, from primordial gods to wards or warding against them."

He had after the visit cleaned all he had taken from the shelves minus what Ravnos had taken with him. Having left out a few other texts he could have shown. Even if he was making a show of being very accommodating he still withheld. "I believe I incurred some favor. Though he wasn't very open as to why he was searching."

Lacing her arms behind her sire's head, Kemat purred, the coals of her golden eyes burning. Her one hand came up to bury itself into Abanaub's hair, unconsciously possessive in a way that did not threaten the vampire's independence. It was a line they danced as effortlessly as breathing, a swirling dance that spiraled out from this central theme. She leaned into the kiss, growling all the while, amusement flaring and then fading as she became distracted by the moment.

Pulling back to regard him, she tilted her head, contemplating what Ravnos and Abanaub had discussed. "Primordial gods, hmm?" Well, that was a subject which the Followers of Set were quite versed in. "What a clever Disciple," she murmured, knowing very well that he would know that she both meant it and that he was as amused as she as by the game of politics. "I wonder what he might have been after," she mused, stroking her fingers across his cheek absently.

He had said his piece, he shrugged not committal. “Must have something to do with his family perhaps?” His hands played at the hem of her dress, growing bored and more restless. It was as if he was ruled by one thing. He did try to stay on task, but how could he with her there, so close. Maybe try was pushing it, this was as they were. He would have to send her away to focus, or he would leave for a while, he did want to visit a few areas. Later.

As he resisted the urge to claw at the semi-shear dress, he brought his other hand up tracing her shoulder to her neck. Fingers gently around her throat, he pulled her closer. Burrowing his face at her nape biting without breaking skin. He inhaled making his decision, “If I ruin this dress, what would you do?” his voice was thick and deep he licked and nipped at her again desire taking hold.

No more waiting, he did enough right? Albeit a short report of ongoings. Still, he felt as if it had been too long. With ease he stood with her in his grip, hands having found a place under her thighs for support. “Kemat.” He growled heading toward the bed. Setting her down for a moment at the edge, grabbing her face pressing his mouth on hers, prying her lips open to explore before pulling back, his face primal as he grinned and gently pushed her to lay. “Now.”

"If you ruin this dress," Kemat purred, holding onto Abanaub as he transported them both, "You'll buy me a new one." Something a little fancier than her current one. Her current one that was likely to be ruined in a moment. "Hayati," she murmured, dragging him into another hungry kiss, even as the world disappeared around her. There was only this man, whom she had known in so many ways and for so long.

Whom she battled with and for, played with, was devoted to on a level that wild horses could not drag from her. Torture could not have compelled it. Yet her sire was her world, and would remain so. She pulled him closer, and forgot about everything else. "Yes," she agreed. "Now." And if 'now' lasted for quite some time... well, so much the better.

Always being prepared for certain events Abanaub was digging in an alcove behind one of the draperies. Sifting through various fabrics of color and texture. Some of it he had obtained himself, changes of his own wardrobe along with clothes he has ‘collected’ from visitors. He had a few new items he had stashed away, for reasons he wouldn’t divulge or admit to himself or anyone. He found what he had been looking for, pleased with his choice and went and laid it out on the bed.

“Habibti, a new dress, at least for now. You can pick out anything you like next time you find a place to your liking.” Her other dress…ruined, but worth it. No remorse at all for why that dress lay in shreds. The new one was smooth and silky, black and gold as his own wear. Less shear than the other one, which would moderately help his attention. He leaned over to rake a claw down her side playfully just to see what she would do. He had some business to do above, that would not stop him from teasing in this moment.
