The mansion had barely changed as was probably the matron of the house as well. If she was calling her here for that reason then no, she had not changed.

Valentina stood at the gates, wrapping her hands around the bars before a buzzer sounded and they began to open. Well, they knew she was here obviously. Gathering her bag she made her way down the path that lead to the main mansion of the Della Passaglia estate.

She still remembered her time here as a child. Her, Matteo and Coco playing in the yard. Taking lessons together with Matteo. When she had learned that she and Matteo were arranged she had been happy, there was a fondness for the golden haired boy she had grown up with. But he had seemed less than thrilled and had avoided her ever since. Valentina had written him letters but never got a response so she stopped. She had visited a few times but he was always away somewhere. It was frustrating. She wasn’t ugly by no measure and she was well read. What wasn’t there to like about her? And yet he still eludes her.

Maybe this time.

That’s what she kept telling herself. She had lined for him for so long, forgoing any other advances that the young male Giovanni threw at her. There was only one Giovanni she wanted.

Valentina had made it to the house and was escorted to the room in which she would be staying in. She began to make herself at home. The young Necromancer would envision herself living here with Matteo, maybe a small gaggle of children. She cupped her cheeks and shook her head back and forth. That was thinking a little far ahead into the future. But it was one she hoped would come true.

As she sat at the vanity she undid her pigtails letting dark raven hair cascade down her back in silky waves. Brushing it out as she hummed a little song to herself. She would have to speak to Gigi here eventually but that would wait a little while longer. Valentina wanted to take in the mansion that she would be living in soon enough. So much had changed since the last time she was here, or maybe she was just remembering it differently because she was so young the last time.

Glancing out the window she sighed. She had hoped Matteo would have been here when she arrived but such was not the case. Either he didn’t know she was here or he didn’t want to see her at all. He had been avoiding her after all. Oh, she hoped the latter wasn’t the case. Even during all her necromancy training she thought about him. How much fun they had playing together as kids. Her mind wandered to the memory of the first time she had kissed him. He seemed so shy about it….at least she believed it was shyness. He never seemed to her like that but afterwards he had begun to avoid her in little ways and once it was announced of their arrangement is when he really started avoiding her.

Valentina settled the brush down on the vanity, propping her elbows on it and looking at herself in the mirror. The female had no clue what he thought as he refused to speak to her afterwards, no matter how much she tried. It broke her heart, but only a little. Not enough to cause her to waver though. Her sights had been set on the golden haired boy, now a man, for a long time.

What seemed like a very long time.

She had been convinced they were meant to be even if he avoided her. Once he saw all her accomplishments and how she had grown there was no way he could refuse.
