To begin, pick up to three Models (1 — 3) that you'd like to design for from the Project Catwalk Cycle 6 main competition thread, located HERE.
Next, simply recreate your selected Model(s) in the Avatar Builder, and design from there a canvas-wide ensemble outfit. It is essential that your overall design incorporates the entire frame, so make use of backgrounds and/or decor where fit. There are no themes you must adhere to, but your PC6 crew still expect original, comprehensive, high quality creations.
Once you've achieved your desired aesthetic, post your submissions in this thread, including: An image of your outfit, Designer name, Model name & an equipped list (pose included)
Auditions are open Dec 8th — Jan 4th, after which time the thread will be locked, and moved to the Archives subforum. Subsequently, the Head Judge will begin deciding who the successful candidates are immediately after Auditions close.
PM's will then be sent out to all the successful Auditions candidates, offering a permanent spot in the contest (which must be accepted). Failure to confirm a spot will result in it being given to the runner-up.

Please heed this message, whether you're a guild newbie that's hoping to get into their first cycle, or an old PC veteran, looking to get back into the game: There is a perfectly good reason that we allow our perspective Designers the opportunity to audition with up to three (3) Models. The reason being that a Designer can only join the competition with a Model they've tried out with ... and three chances are better than one!
To put it another way, if you audition with Models W, X and Y, you cannot join the competition as a Designer for Model Z, even if your design skills exceed that of those who've auditioned with Model Z. Your only competition would be from other perspective Designers that have submitted auditions with Models W, X, and/or Y. And comforting to know that if you were to bomb one submission, it wouldn't ruin your chances of making it into the competition.
Additionally, every hopeful Designer benefits from their competitors submitting multiple Models. Think about it: If one of your submissions is second best, and the Designer whose submission is above yours is chosen as a candidate for a different Model they submitted for, that would make your entry the new best option.
We don't create 'ugly' Models here. They're all carefully designed to imitate real world, racially accurate, natural-looking beauties. Each and every Model has her own strengths and weaknesses that their Designer must work out, and learn to utilize to their advantage. Audition with the models that you have a connection with, that will be the most important factor in how well you work with the model throughout the cycle.
And finally, be sure to keep an eye on how many other hopeful Designers are vying for your desired Models, as there are always a few Models in every cycle that Gaians flock to, for whatever reason. And while those few Models collect 20+ entries each, others get only one or two entrants. When your odds of making it into a cycle are 5% or 50%, your smartest move is to take the better deal, and at the very least, get your foot in the door.
Securing a place in the contest with a Model you're less than fond of doesn't have to be the end of your Model-pair desires, as the contest does contain an opportunity to switch to a Model you may desire more: Top Designers of a challenge get the choice of changing their Model with the eliminated Designer's Model. So, with a hefty amount of talent, and just a bit of luck, you could find yourself paired with your dream Model after all.
Remember, there's only one Designer per Model, so use your entries wisely.

In the thinking I did with which model I wanted to pick, and how I wanted to present myself, I really had a hard time deciding how can I show myself and who I am in just three models.
With the models at hand too, we sometimes see them less as people and more as a blank canvas - something meant to be dressed and presented in a certain way for the world at large. But they are more than that; they are people, they have wants and loves and they too, like myself, must subvert what people see on the outside.
So the theme I am going with my audition is Subverting Expectations.

Why This Model? Cressida comes from a Grecian family; a well rounded large family of all types - scholars, laborers, politicians and those who walk all kinds of life. Her name means Golden, which I wanted to replicate here. When she is not a model, she's actually a classically trained dancer who took a break to model; she also holds a classical literature degree and has an avid love of reading, brought about from her family's love of literature. While Cressida love a good romance or fantasy, her favorite genre is actually poetry, her favorites including Mary Oliver, Robert Frost and Sappho. About the Look: I wanted to combine her two passions - dance and literature. One of her dreams is to dance in an old library to a full orchestra as part of a performance series. Sometimes when people think of models, they see vapid or boring people who of course, are all about looks. They may only see on the surface a person who wants to be beautiful, to showcase their looks but there is more to that. Cressida is the best for this, a golden beauty who found another art form - another type of choreography in the world of modeling. What They are Wearing:

Why This Model? Okay I'm biased - Zanna and I share the same favorite color; yellow! I love how warm sunflower yellows and canary can bring out the beauty of a person, and reveals details that may have been missed as well as just how it can compliment other colors. When I sat down and talked with Zanna, I learned that she loves color, and being a model sometimes she's able to experiment in her looks with fashion and makeup. The blog she writes - that she started as a teen for her daily outfits - talks all about the way you can pair colors and make new styles and schemes with outfits you already have. About the Look: When not walking runways or posing for magazines, Zanna is an artist! Trained with traditional mediums like acrylic and watercolor she also does lots of digital drawing. Her style - as she calls it - comes from her love of painters like Henry Matisse and Paul Gauguin, using vibrant color and posing to portray beautiful pieces. While she doesn't paint as often as she likes due to her busy schedule, Zanna does lots of sketches and pieces in whatever sketchbook or journal she can keep on her, and has even said in interviews that the best way to wind down from a long day is to draw what's on her mind, or work on a project if she's home. Why This Model? Before Marina joined her modeling agency, she was actually a film maker and up-and-coming actress! She loved putting herself into scenes and becoming a character just as much as being behind the lens to find the perfect shot. Being able to bring a story to life has always been one of her passions, writing all sorts of stories from a young age. When we met the first time, we ended up going on a tangent about French Romance fims and the absurdist movement in the 70s that lead to several plays and films that while they were essentially nothing, they held meaning for those watching the directors and the actors as they played their part. Maria has said the transition from actress to model has been easy, as it feels like a new character to play, but she loves the friends she's made and opportunities that she's been given being able to be behind the photographers camera as well. About the Look: We wanted to do something a little more edgy and dynamic - so I played her in a bit of a wasteland. The bold explorer going through the tattered lands looking as beautiful as she is deadly. We ended up playing a little with the fog machine, catching beautiful shot after shot of her running through the scene and the flowers that grew in abundance through the garden. Designer: wishflower Model: Maeve Image: Description: Maeve is bold, creative, and playful. A scrappy young lesbian, she's not afraid to turn heads with her colourful and unconventional outfits. I chose to dress her in a mashup of styles that encompasses Maeve's guiding values: - several grunge and punk elements: slouchy beanie, net shirt, mesh sleeves, plaid pants, combat boots, and a chunky belt (although in white!) - various urbancore sensibilities: a thigh belt, loose-hanging straps, and a fanny pack at her waist - and a touch of decora influence: face stickers and an assortment of pins, buttons and clips on her hat and in her hair Maeve would fit right in on the streets of Harajuku as easily as New York City.
Designer: wishflower Model: Imani Image: Description: ((I decided to do some research since I'm not Black and I want to avoid using tropes or falling into cultural appropriation.)) Her name means 'faith' in both Arabic (spoken in North Africa and the Middle East) and Swahili (spoken in many East African countries). Given the meaning of her name, I felt inspired to make a contemporary majestic look worthy of a goddess. After some quick research on google/wikipedia, I discovered the pre-Islamic Arabian goddess Manat; she is considered a goddess of fate, fortune, and destiny (sometimes also death). I found three pieces of iconography that I could work into this build--a golden necklace, an "eye" carving (in this case, it's added to her forehead circlet), and a crescent moon behind her head. In this twilit desert scene, Imani is wearing a custom jewel-toned dress--assembled from a bodice, skirt, overskirt, sleeves, shawl, sash and belts--and is opulently dazzling with accessories: hair ornamentation, circlet, chunky gold pendant, bracelets, waist jewelry, and a smattering of face glitter.
Designer: wishflower Model: Pearl Image: Description: At first glance, I'd describe Pearl's aesthetic as soft, youthful, and classic. At the same time, she's no stranger to making a fashion statement. I opted to dress her in a style that's traditionalist with a twist--a combination of plazacore and vintage academia. She's an autumn-loving girlie who reluctantly accepts the arrival of winter by donning a warm plaid coat--which she opts to keep open. Indulging in her youthful femininity, she accessorizes with a large bow and pompoms on her boots (hello, form AND function!). She breaks up her plaid-heavy ensemble with a floral dress in an elegant navy, cinched at the waist with a thin black belt and topped with a white Peter Pan collar.
Description: My first look was inspired by the romantic and fashionable city of Paris; Arden could easily be mistaken for a schoolgirl on vacation in France.
Description: For this lovely lady I chose a colorful solarpunk theme since her dark hair and skintone contrast fabulously with pastels and bright colors. This look embodies a cheerful nature-inspired aesthetic.

Audition: Did You Summon Me? Hi judges I have decided to give myself a theme for all my auditions to follow! Seeing as I was part of last cycle I wanted to show my growth and why I should come back for Cycle 6. So I did a few things gave myself a theme, chose to show case all my models without a full background, and I included the item names of specific pieces that formed the core of the look. I noticed last cycle all of my models had a solid full background. So this time I wanted to show off looks that fill out the space while leaving some room for the outfit to breathe.

That's why I went for a seductive demon look! I wanted to play up her blue eyes for this one so I went with the Misty color scheme. I liked those colors a lot especially the vintage gold. I started with the legs from Alruna's Delicate Summon. Which went well with the Misty Chill Child tail (which even has a cute bow) and the Dyed in the Wonderous Woolord wings. I feel like the light blue and grey being the main colors allow her pretty soft orange curls to stand out. All in all I figured a lot of people would go super cute with her but I wanted to work with the expression while playing slightly against the type and I think I succeeded here. Her cat needs some friends! What witch wouldn't call on the dark forces to keep her best friend company? To go into to detail on this look I knew I wanted to use Ghastly purple but I wasn't sure what other colors to balance it with. I ended up finding the Stagony color scheme paired really well plus matching black accents. I love texture of the netted shawl from Lamentable Lorelei I think it really gives dimension to the whole look. I also was VERY choosy about the make up I wanted to make her face look less flat and without anything it just didn't read very well. But I also learned from cycle 5 to make sure i wasn't changing her actual features. This eye-shadow blush combo doesn't affect her eyes or lips but it gives her flushed cheeks and a little color on her lids. I also like how shiny the blush is it make it look a little like shes sweating. Which makes sense channeling spirits is hard work! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━۞
۞━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ۞Designer: Serena-Of-Limonium ۞Model: Naomi ۞Status: Complete ۞Mirror Mirror This was the hardest outfit for me to conceptualize. I had the other two finished and was really happy with how they turned out. The issue for me was that I wanted this one to fit the theme but I felt like it need to be distinct from summoning a demon or a witch summoning some spirits. I searched through the avatar builder for inspiration, all three looks started specifically with me limiting the search to my own inventory I may have a pretty massive collection but its still no where near the endless feeling of Gaia's full item database What I really liked was the mirror from Essence of Innocence just from the Mirror and Naomi's base body I got the vibe of something/someone being summoned from inside. I played with exactly what Naomi would be and landed on a women who is trapped in the mirror. Naomi is bound in the mirror by magical chains and when the Master of the Mirror wants her to do something he yanks her through the mirror by her chains. Her arm sticking out was chosen because I wanted it to look like she was coming out of the mirror arm first as if by a chain around her wrist. I will openly admit the flat palm looks a bit more like she is pushing out of the mirror sadly I couldn't find arms that looked exactly how I wanted but this one does show the chain coming from her wrist. I still love how it looks over all! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━۞
I liked working with all the girls. Although my third pick was a challenge and I tried working with several models I did feel like Naomi was a great choice in the end. If I had to choose who an order of preference out of my models I would have to pick Arden. I felt so much creative freedom with her which made just slightly rank over Jolene who I adore and also felt drawn to from the start. Like I said Naomi was my third choice and I would definitely be happy working with her the only thing is I really like the longer hair on Jolene and the more playful less surprised expression on Jolene.
