for 4 reasons:

1) he gambles

2) he drinks

3) he carries a huge frickin sword and actually did damage to a tree with it.

2. He is sexy ^^
3. He not only knows how to weild a sword but two different types of swords.

5. though he was selfish about his own life at first, through his training wiht Ama Kakeru ryu no hirameki, he learned , that in order to want to win you gotta want to live

my fave character is Sojiro (the kid that works for shishio. i think that's his name) because one of his attacks surpassed kenshin's god-like speed. but, he lost anyway. plus he only smiles all the time because he learned how to seal away his emotions. he was what i called a "happy go lucky kid" and he has this really sad story....

Agreed! Most definitely Soujirou, I'm still going to restate a bit of that.

1. He is based off a person who lived once in real life.

2. He was astoundingly cute as a kid.

3. Sympathy to his abused-ness.

4. Shishio's right hand man.

5. His Shukuchi technique that surpasses Ken-chan's Hiten Mitsurugi style's speed.

6. Shuntensatsu, his best technique, is awesome, and probably would've worked on Kenshin had he not been torn between two views of life at the time.

7. The title Tenken.

8. Dodged Kuzu Ryu Sen.

9. Always smiling.

10. In general, oddly kawaii.

... but all the characters are ok I guess... though I never really liked Sano.

My favortie character is not up there. It's Sojuro(sp?), because he's awesome, and totally emotionless. blaugh But close second is kenshin.
