Too often, I see "etcetera" abbreviated as "ect.". That is incorrect. It should be abbreviated as "etc.".

I've never spelt it like that, and I've never seen it like that either, although it would annoy me to see it spelt like that. Some people are so stupid.

Oh yeah... Technically you correct. "Et cetera". I'll try to remember that.

I've seen it like that... I use "Etc." But yeah; it always bothered me. D: But I never knew that when you're not abriviating [[sp?]] the word it's two different ones. O:

I think a more common problem than a typo is the oh-so-frequent misuse/abuse of latin abbreviations, "etc." included. Not only that, but things like "i.e." are commonly used incorrectly or inappropriately, and it's terribly annoying. But I guess at least they're trying to be cultured, or something.

AHA! AHA! Thank you! Someone beat me to it. Almost everyonne I know pronounces it "Ek Setera" or something like that It makes me very angry. Whenever someone says that, and I respond with "It's pronounced Et Cetera" They always get in my face. They say things like "It's just grammar, why should we care?" Or "So what? You know what I mean."

Is this a pet peeve of anyone else, or am I just paranoid?
