Can you say You're not [ You aren't maybe? o: ] as in "You'ren't ? I always catch myself try ing to type it in but I don't want to becaus eit looks so.... weird.

Q: Is "You'ren't" a word?

It's not a word, in my belief, but there are other triple-conjunctions that I think are. "Wouldn't've," for example.

Personally, I think double-contractions (mightn't've and wouldn't've included) aren't really words and should only be used in casual context (conversation is fine) but typed only minimally, just because it looks kind of stupid IMO. But I don't know what the "official" line on that is.

I'm pretty sure triple conjunctions are only slang, used to slur words and speak faster. No, its not a word.

I'll simplify it, if it's not in Dictionary.com, it's not a word. I will however, admit to using some of those double contractions, especially "wouldn't've", but certainly not formally.

No, it is not a word. I believe that double contractions are not grammatically acceptable.

I use that in speech constantly, I must admit, but I don't type out double-contractions usually. It looks silly and usually takes far more effort than it's worth; contractions are supposed to simplify, not complicate. wink

true. but isnt it hard to speak really fast and slur it really quickly? i havent heard anybody, well from my point, speak like that.
