How did Rock Lee pass the Academy?

Rock Lee can't use any ninjutsu/genjustu, bud don't you have to do 'Henge' (a ninjutsu) to pass the Academy?

who knows he could have been lucky because the said the for the year Naruto passed it was 'Henge' the year he passed it could have been a taijutsu but that is a very interesting question that didn't even cross my mind

they probably felt sorry for him. or he could have shown them his taijutsu skillz. OR Gai sensai put in a good word for him.

Rock Lee's amazing Taijutsu and ability to open the different gates makes not being able to do a 'Henge' type jutsu inconsequential.

i believe that Rock Lee passed the ninja academy by either having impressive Taijutsu skills or..... having special permission by Guy sensei also to add he is smart about alot of ninja stuff though he cannot use 2/3 of the ninja info he learned ( no genjutsu or ninjutsu )

Maybe he didnt have to do it. Maybe just a different thing that uses Taijutsu. For Gai sensai felt sorry for him so he made the dude pass him.
