Have you ever stopped to wonder what tying shoes would be like with the little plastic things at the end? I wonder....would the entire world blow up because the fraying was just too much?

I've never really understood the purpose of those. I suppose it's to keep the laces from unravelling.

The plastic things fell off my shoelaces. And it's a lot harder to tie shoes without them. The ends start fraying and then you have to suck on the end to get it to stick together so you can tie your shoes. And you don't know where the laces of been. So, it's pretty nasty. The plastic things are needed.

I'm sorry, but do you mean the aglets? I'm just asking. I know a few weird words...

Its almost impossible to get the shoelaces through the holes if you don't have those things at the end. Trust me, I've tried, I got so mad! I ended up taping the ends to make my own...GAH! domokun

I think that's happened to my old pair of sneakers. I kept stepping on my shoelaces in the rain and such since I haven't stopped to tied them. In the end, the plastic things at the end flattened or disappeared. It got a lot harder to put it through the holes when it came loose. >.< I got really annoyed, and in the end, decided to ignore that pair of sneakers. >.<

If you break the aglets on your shoes, it's VERY convenient. They keep all the lace together and make it easier to put the shoelace through the holes. When the aglets are gone, it's extremely hard to lace your shoes.
If I break my aglets, I'll go to the store immediately to get another pair of laces.

With little plastic thingy's on the end of shoelaces, we would all not be alive. They make the world go 'round and keep us sane, and what's more is that very few people know what they're called and those who do, are very lucky!
