Australian Idol 2006.

I don't know what it's gonna be like. It starts this Sunday (August 6th) and they seem to hint at a slight change in format. I don't have anything against change, but the tried and true Idol format seems to have worked well enough in the past, I hope they're not trying to tack something extra on, as a gimmick to draw more viewers.

This thread is open for any and all discussion of Autralian Idol.

Enjoy.

my personal opinion of Australian Idol..... listen to 'The Noose - A Perfect Circle' and replace everything to do with everything to with AI06....

Australian Idol is about the only reality show I enjoy watching. I hope the changes they make will be good for viewers and contestents. But yeh, I also think that there was nothing wrong with the original format.

I'm looking forward to seeing who makes it to the top 30 and top 12 etc.

I was suckered in in the first season, but after that it got dull and repititive. I just don't like the music anymore.
I don't even listen to the radio nowadays so yeah, I prefer my music. Rockstar Supernova is more my thing. domokun

Spoon! That damn fluzie! scream

It seems Netball really doesn't want me watching Idol. I havn't seen a Sunday show yet, even though it's only been two weeks.

The auditions are not so significant, but how can you expect to experience Idol viewing in its fullest if you don't watch the Sunday shows? I mean, unless they change it this year, the main singing competitions will be on Sundays...

Anyhow, I think it's good that they let people bring instruments this year to the first instruments. I liked seeing people sing and play the guitar.

When Australian Idol first came out I didn't watch a lot of it, I watched the whole of the second and got turned-off it when Casey Donovan won (I mean, WHERE IS SHE anyway...yeah...I didn't like her at all) so I didn't watch the 3rd season.
I LOVE the auditions though, some people are so funny rofl
I would like to start watching again this Season, it looks really good, there was a lot of talent, and I loved the guitars. I just don't have the time though sad

I didn't pay much attention to either of the first two seasons, it was actually when channel 10 aired the 3rd season of American Idol that I got hooked on that, and the subsaquent season of Australian Idol.

well i liked da first 1 or 2 seasons but den after dat it just gets so borin n i fell da same with big brother.but i think da runners up in australian idol still hav a big career sometime even bigger than the first place winners. like look at shannon noll or anthony callea.

Or what about Lee Harding? But what's happened to the runner-up of last season? I forgot her name, but as I recall, she was favoured to win... I haven't seen any released music by her as an individual. Though she is part of the Young Divas...

I liked Lee Harding when he was on the show last year, he was very entertaining, even if he looked strange. However, I haven't found a song he's released as a single that I like.

Anyway, there's some really talented people this year, as there are every year, and I hope that those that get filtered to the top 12 are actually good too. 3nodding
