Oh...hey, I'm new to the guild. -waves-
But I wanted to ask opinions on the lyricless/piano nine inch nails songs. I was glancing (stalking/spamming) some of the other boards around here and I noticed a few people saying they didn't like them.
Wondering what other people had to say on the subject.
Personally, I love them. I think it shows how diverse Trent is. He can write thrashing industrial music, but his lyricless stuff shows a lot of...emotion.
'Pilgrimage'? That is a wicked violent song, and it has no words. 'Leaving Hope Behind' is really emotional...with no voice.
I don't know, I'm ranting. Thoughts, opinions?

I've only heard a few of them, but I love them. I can't see why those other people hate them, they aren't true NIN fans if they can't enjoy a good lyricless song from NIN. Trent's songs are so talented with and without lyrics.

I looove them. A Warm Place is almost lyricless and it makes me feel like crying every time I listen to it. The way it sounds just sounds like hope hope hope hope hope...and then...the letdown. if that makes sense.

The way it sounds just sounds like hope hope hope hope hope...and then...the letdown. if that makes sense. Exactly! How can you hate that stuff?! It portrays such strong emotion; and you know exactly what it is, without words. Yarr.

I like most of them. My favs: A Warm Place, The Frail, La Mer. Ripe with Decay is good but I don't listen to it a lot. My only problem with With Teeth was that it didn't have any real instrumentals.

A Warm Place gets me weepy in a heart beat (like And All That Could Have Been but without lyrics) but seriously I love A Violet Fluid so much. Those hard metallic noises are so pleasing. Complication is probably the best travel song in my opinion. It sounds like you're either drivein down a highway or going down a metro trac. Ripe (with decay) is like Reptile without lyrics.
You don't know s**t if you don't like NIN instrumentals. It's like saying you like the Matrix but only the parts without Neo. I've even heard people say they aren't worth listening to. Those people should drop dead.

:3 I love the instrumentals.
I listen to At The Heart Of It All excessively. I also love the Fixed version of Happiness In Slavery, Help Me I Am In Hell, Adrift And At Peace.
